That said, I am curious as to why she was forbidden to go to the wedding. Was she grounded because of her failing a couple of subjects? I guess I'm wondering because I feel that a 17-year-old should be allowed to go to a friend's wedding, but I don't know the circumstances. Even if my child were grounded, I would very likely make an exception for a friend's wedding. It's just such a special day that should only come once for a person, so I feel like it is important enough to warrant an exception.
