told our large group of homeschoolers (both moms and dads) during our tour that he had to learn the hard way that women make THE GREATEST strawberry planters. He said he hired a bunch of men one year and that was the last time he did that. He said now they are all women - they take their time, take pride in their work, and just do something for the soil where he has huge, gorgeous berries whenever they plant them. All the women there broke into applause. I thought it was so funny. I just liked seeing a man actually admit to something like that.....

I am so with you on that!! My husband gets so aggravated because i'll follow him around the bathroom waiting for him to be still long enough where I can get my fingers on his back!! I guess I get a certain look in my eyes because even my kids will say "oh, no mom" and then run! :)
Is the green stem from the strawberry...

Strawberry chocolate delight..yummmm....
Kiwi-Strawberry Propel water
it helps me get water that I need cause Im not a big fan of plain water.
Plus I like milk and really the only soda I drink is root beer unless that's not available ill try a diet coke or diet pepsi...
When I moved to the south last month ive been hearing all about sweete tea... im not a fan of tea at all though so i still haven't tried it!
IC must be tough to deal with hope you're getting along ok!!
Well, I was raised on a farm so...sm
I knew early on what confine meant when we had a cow ready to give birth. My grandpa "confined" her to keep her from running off into the pasture to have it on her own. You can imagine my surprise (disgust actually) when I heard educated doctors use basically the same phraseology towards a human-being...I was a tad disturbed. Then I thought...it was probably a good thing I had been confined then or God only knows which park I may have had my daughter in. LOL
When I lived on a farm back in the day...
One night my girls (little then) and I were coming home after work and we came down the hill and the headlights illuminated many, many dead cats, at least 40. It was so traumatic. The girls were screaming and crying, it was awful. And it was also a black lab that was the culprit. What a horrible sight that was. I'll never forget it.
Just reminds me of Animal Farm.

I get it at Safeway and Food Farm. nm

My husband growing up lived on a farm where
his father raised black angus cattle. You cannot get a better cut of meat than that except for the extra expensive Koba (spelling?) maybe. He and his siblings told me,they got so tired of having steaks, etc. all the time and welcomed bologna instead. Now way past childhood, my husband loves a good bologna sandwich because years ago it was like a treat for the kids to get instead of the steaks all the time.
split time between home and grandparent's farm
When I got divorced, I left my home town and moved 1000 miles away. Stayed there 2-1/2 years, came back to my home town's neighboring state for 3 years, but back to the neighboring state that was 1000 miles away again...
now I'm back in my home town.
I moved to several different areas in those locales during that time, so I actually moved a total of 9 times in 7 years. I am sick of moving my king size bedroom, but I will probably move again next year, just a mile or so away though. I hope it's the last move!
The mansions are still here, but the Game Farm closed this spring

My 14yr old is reading Animal Farm now for English
It is quite wierd. I really don't want to watch Kid Nation but am sometimes drawn to those kind of shows.
We always used to use spray brake cleaner on the farm. Wasps would drop instantly, and somehow we

What a boring Monday!!! (sm)
My line count is low today even though I am working my butt off to try to bring it up. I come over here for a break and it looks like no one has posted anything new for hours. Doesn't anyone have anything exciting to say (I don't!!! was hoping you did!) LOL
Monday would be a great day to have off!! (sm)
Hope your daughter feels better soon - those antibiotics usually kick strep pretty quickly!
Go in before Monday and buy the Forever
stamp, you buy it at the current rate and it is good no matter what the postage goes up to.
Happy Monday
Just wishing everyone a happy Monday! Is it Monday already?? I worked all day Saturday, but was off yesterday. Whew. Just stretching the old back muscles a bit and then getting back to the keyboard.

Went to the semifinals of DWTS on Monday!
I was lucky enough to snag a pass to Dancing With The Stars on Monday! Wow - what a totally fun show that is! (I am SO addicted!) The dancing is even more amazing in person than it is on TV - those people are unbelievable. I just wish I could go again NEXT week, as well. I think any of the 4 couples could've won, and was sad to see Ian have to leave. Still, my money is on Apolo!
(BTW - it really is TRUE that televison adds 10 lbs... everyone there is considerably thinner than they appear on camera!)
Zip. Hub's and bud are reshingling the roof on Monday. nm

I agree with you. Did you see all of the "fans" on Monday? sm
Totally sickening!!! And even worse is the Falcon players who had Vicks number on their face and other visible signs on team players. Personally I feel all Falcon players who made a public show on Monday night football should be fined or suspended, and if that means the whole team is suspended then so be it!! Truely disgusting!!!!
Had lapband surgery on Monday and
To anybody out there that has had or is thinking about having lapband, the first three days are very hard but they get much easier as far as the pain goes. Now, it's a matter of learning what I can and cannot eat.
IMO, it is very much worth the hard work before, during and after the surgery that goes into this whole life changing process. Do not let ANYBODY discourage you if this is the path of weight loss that you choose for yourself.
Good Monday Morning
Good morning all.
Haven't looked at our weather yet, so I don't know what we will have today.
I just cuoldn't sleep, so up I am and just put the coffee on. Come on over and have a fresh cup of coffee and I'll make us some breakfast.
Just turned T.V. on and so now I can watch it an hour longer. I'm going to have a problem with this time change.
I should be working on our income tax, and it's a little overwhelming even thinking about it.
Just a little laundry today and that's about it.
Have a great day all of you.
Why does today feel like a Monday?
This morning after washing my face I picked up a cream I put in my hair so it is a bit more controllable, and rubbed it all over my face thinking it was my moisturizer. The 2 containers look nothing alike. After I got dressed and went to wash my hands I used my new foam soap dispenser and the soap shot all the way across the sink and all over my clothes. Then when I went to take one of my dogs to the groomers the other dog got out the front door and I spent 20 minutes chasing him all over the neighborhood. Got to the groomers and they did not have my dog down for an appointment. They did keep him, but can't pick him up until between 4:30 and 5:00. DS has a tennis match at 4:30. SIGH! I am tired already and it is only 10:45. Someone please send some strength my way!
Stamps go up 1 cent Monday
I first heard of it today, they're blaming it on the cost of gas to deliver mail. At least this time I won't have all my bills returned for a stupid 1 cent more postage, like happened last time.
how I spent my Monday morning...sm
Just wanted to say how much I missed this community while I was away...take a look at the picture I've linked...that's my neighborhood during our mandatory evacuation from the Marek Fire in California... Didn't know if I should post this here or on the mental health or prayer request boards LOL! Grateful to have my home...and my home office...next time you dread Monday morning...keep this as a reminder to renew your perspective! javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');
Cat Owner (lol) here..
She likes to lay under my desk, and once in a while during the day when the kids are at school, she hops up on her hind legs and taps me on the arm with her paw just to say "hey, I'm still alive here, ya' gonna type all day or pet me a while?" She meows to get my attention. But then of course, I'd love to be her sometimes. She can just curl up anywhere, anytime and take a long, long nap! I'm so jealous! She wakes us all up in the morning meowing for something to eat. Poor thing last night... I poured the milk into her bowl, left it on the counter, and went upstairs to tuck the kids in, and she's just following me to their bedrooms meowing away. I didn't know what her problem was, and when I went downstairs again, lo and behold I hadn't put the darn bowl of milk down for her. I wonder if she'll turn me in for abuse? What a tease that was for her I'm sure.
Cat Owner
Congratulations on your new "child". I have two cats of my own. It sounds like you have everything set for your cat while you're gone. I do all of the same things, with the exception of the radio/TV. I've left my cats alone for a week at at time for vacations and they do just fine. It's like they get a vacation too, away from my 3-1/2 year old. LOL.
Cat owner
How about feeding him one of the lower calorie/fat cat foods? You could probably feed him the same amount and he wouldn't be taking in as many calories. Did you ever try using a laser light? If he likes it, he'll run up the walls! Hope this helps.

Be sure you don't give him anything with aspirin in it - it is toxic to cats. Not sure about Pepcid but definitely no Pepto-Bismol.
Off until Monday afternoon -- Happy New Years
Off until Monday afternoon, have a friend coming in on Saturday (female) and for the first time since I have been single, over five years, going out dancing and having fun on New Years Eve. See if this old lady still has it in her to have a night of fun. Not sure if I remember how to dance. Hope you all have a Happy New Years. 2007 is going to be a good one for me.

why is everyone so mean on a monday? geez, how would you like to be shut up in a house never to go
i had a dog get attacked and killed about a month ago by another dog in my own fenced back yard. never seen the attacker dog before in my life nor again since the incident. you can't always protect your pets just like you can't always protect your children, but yet you have to give them some freedom. would you lock your children up in the house never to go outdoors because of the violence? i think not. the OP has a valid point and her SIL is being extremely disrespectful and careless with her dogs.
to the OP, i would tell MIL that she is responsible for those dogs while they are in "her care" and to do whatever it takes to keep them off your property. you have the right to protect you home, your property, and your animals. i'd get a bb-gun and shoot them until they learned to stay out of your yard.
We have snow flurries and 20s today. It was 65 Monday...sm
gotta love this crazy winter we're having!
It's Monday...What's for dinner tonight folks?
Cat here....Been wondering what you've all been up too. Been kinda lost as well considering my computer died over a month ago and was finally resurrected this morning.
Tonight's fare will be venison pot roast style (about 4 hours on top of the stove) with string beans and potatoes side, hot water cornbread and strawberry jello for desert. Cat

Pet owner poll: sm
Do any of you feel that the monthly one-spot flea and tick preventions are hazardous to your pets' health?
Between my best friend and me, we had 6 dogs. Since June, 3 of them developed cancers, 2 of whom died. The common denominator is Frontline. Her dog was only 4, and my 2 were 10 and 8. Her dog had a leiomyosarcoma. Mine had squamous cell sarcoma and the other had undifferentiated giant cell sarcoma. We both live in Florida where fleas and ticks can be a big problem.
Two other friends claim they don't give their dogs these preventatives because they were told they were poisonous to dogs, the advice coming from holistic vets.
What are your thoughts and experiences, and where do you live?
Thanks.

How about a pillar candle tied up in tulle with a gorgeous bow? (If you can't make a bow, these are available in stores.) She won't care that you didn't spend a lot, but love you for thinking about her. Or, even less expensive, make her a batch of homemade candy or cookies and present them in a pretty tin - everyone likes to get homemade goodies.
It is my understanding that the owner of the --sm
property has the right to ask anyone to leave. It is their property and they do not OWE you to live there, even if you have been there all your life. If you are paying less rent than the average renter, I can see why he is doing this. You may be a good tenant, but everything, these days, comes down to dollars and cents. He may not have to do too much to "renovate," but he can get a much bigger price in rent. I really don't think you have a leg to stand on and I am sorry for your situation, but the owner can do anything they want to with their property.
A responsible owner would never allow...sm
Their pitbull to wander around public. That is why we have attacks. Owners should be responsible and keep them as well as any dog in a fenced in yard. Or if out in public on a leash. Mine will never be wandering around in public on its own. That is totally irresponsible. If I saw a pitbull out in public I would be cautious myself.
The cat happened Monday. Toilet trauma was Wednesday.
I think I'm fine...just accident prone this week.
Lucky Gwyneth!!! Go ahead, make your Monday :)

This man gives me chills!!!
The fence did not cause the dog to die. The owner did by not making sure
the batteries were changed on a regular basis. The fence and the dog are blameless. The only one who had any control over the situation dropped the ball....poor dog.
If the owner feels their being there could cause a problem

Not arguing about the right for a business owner--sm
to refuse service to anyone, but, according to the article I read, OJ and his group came into the restaurant, sat in the back and were not causing a problem. The owner had the problem, as one of the waitresses was *giddy* that OJ was there. He specifically stated he asked OJ to leave because he did not like what OJ had done (in the past). To me, that is discrimination. He was not causing a problem. It was the owner of the restaurant who had a problem. But that is just my opinion.
I just do not think it is right that a place that is *open to the public* can ask someone to leave just because they do not like that person. If OJ had been causing a problem, that would have been different, but he was not. It was all the owners feelings about the man. that's all.
However, this thread is taking an ugly turn and since I have said all I have wanted to say on the subject, I am backing out now. Have a good day.
I am the renter..NOT the owner of the house
