I was told you cannot make up hours last due to down time

and I had to use PTo for power outage. What was the reason for being down?

I work about 10 hours a day with very little time off. nm
:
I'm not really wasting time during the hours
that I am awake - it's just that right now I am having to work so many hours, almost all fun is squeezed out of my life. If I could sleep 4 hours a night, I could:
- always have the laundry caught up.
- always have my house clean.
- cook supper each and every night.
- keep my flowers weeded and watered.
- read at least a half an hour a day.
- spend time in devotions and meditation and prayer.
- exercise.
If I could accomplish these things throughout the week, then I could have each and every weekend FREE! I feel like I could gain my life back if I could somehow figure out this sleep thing.
Thanks everybody for your input.
YAY he just quit chirping first time in 4 hours

Here is what the mod told me one time...
When a post is moved to another board or is deleted etc, all the comments associated with that thread are removed too. They just don't delete the original thread, they delete all the comments that go with it. I had posted one time about lightening up on an original poster and that afternoon, the whole thread was gone. I e-mailed the mods and asked and that is what they told me. If the original thread goes, so do all the replies etc.
Hope this explanation helps. If not, the mods are really good about getting back to you if you have questions or problems.
Yeah, my DH just came in here and told me - about time - nm
xx
I have told her all that. She does not care at this time.

Well I figure I can make my own hours & be home when the kids are home (sm)
I worked PT in an office for a while but spent most of my money on childcare in the summer. Full-time in an office was just a nightmare and I felt like I missed a whole year of my children's lives. I want to be in control of my schedule so that's why I'm looking into the cleaning thing. Never thought I would want to do that but live and learn! Some of the most intelligent people alive work as carpenters and similar things because they have learned what's really important in life. Whew....off my soapbox now :-) Good luck to you!
Yeah - one time I told a neurologist that Cafergot was - sm
useless for my migraines. She seemed somewhat preoccupied while I gave her the history, etc. She gave me what I thought was an Rx for something else. (Couldn't read her writing!) Went to the Pharmacy, and you know what she prescribed? CAFERGOT! At that time I worked for the same place I got my healthcare, and ended up transcribing my own office visit note. What did she say? She said that Cafergot 'worked well' for me and therefore she was refilling the Rx.
Their heads are somewhere else, (or else UP something else), and not on their work.
Went to see one in Mt. Juliet, TN. She was fantastic, told me I was moving (no plans at that time),
marriage would last--missed that 1 by 2 years, but pretty close. She hit my girlfriend exactly - initials of BF, etc.
My sister left a message last night and told me for the second time SM
she was called a little old lady! My sister is early 60s and very attractive, always colors her hair to cover any gray, dresses really nice, etc. She smiled yesterday at some adorable twin boys while out on a walk. The mother was close by walking also. All of a sudden the one kid yells . .
Hey, did you see that little old lady?? Then they both laughed. The mom called them over and was correcting them.
One time a few years ago my sister smiled at another little kid and the MOTHER of the little kid said . . awww. . Did that little old lady smile at you? see below.
Moral of the story . . Stop smilin'. It's dangerous to your ego!
But thier actual hours are much more than just the hours

How did you make it? How do you know now is the time? sm
I am so deeply depressed because of this marriage and can hardly stand it anymore. Yet I am afraid to go. I feel like I am a good person and a good mom, but no matter what I do it is never good enough. Now he is making terrible threats about wanting 50% custody. How do you get to the point that you feel safe that he can't do that? I am so worried about my children.

No kidding.. The only time I ever tried to make it SM
I began sirring my heart out, was so particular and just knew this was gonna be great. I looked down and ALL the gravy collected on the spoon and it looked like a big baseball in ONE piece!! To this day when we want someone to pass the gravy we always say "Ill take a slice of that gravy!" My mom just howled at that when it happened because she makes the very best gravy on the planet. To this day we get her to make it!
Time for a divorce. Make him pay for it. nm

absolutely classless! you make the time to
I love meatloaf but every time I make
it just tastes like hamburger meat. Gosh, wish I could make a decent one. Do you have room for 1 more at your table??
The next time I decided to make real
mashed potatoes. Didn't know how many potatoes I needed for 2 people, so I peeled about 6 or 7 potatoes. Once again, too many taters! LOL!
Absolutely, but I shake myself out of it quickly to make it a happy time for my kids and hubby. nm

If you're asking and the love is long gone, it's time. Make copies of all important papers,
s
First, that's a lot of hours!! (sm)
That's probably a big part of your problem is that you are working so many hours. But I have a great chair that I bought about 8 years ago when I was having shoulder pain from transcribing. I searched until I found one where the arms would raise up high enough so that I could rest my elbows on the chair arms while I work and that supported my shoulders.
I need about 10 hours!!!
LOL.
Really though, I don't feel all there if I don't get 7-8 hours of sleep, but maybe that is because I am accustomed to it, but also that "8 hours" is interrupted by being awoken by the man in my bed that breathes too loud! (i now sleep with ear plugs), plus I have to get up and pee like twice a night...
You raise an interesting point if you can gradually get used to sleeping less... think of all the things I could get done! But it never fails, I have been going to bed around 11, waking up around 6 (interrupted during the night) and without fail I get sooooo sleepy at about 1-2 p.m. Could that be because I have to sit and stare and type all day??
Dont know but I like this post!
I'm tired now :)
150 hours and then you still have to have

You can put up with just about anything for a few hours! sm
Does he realize how much it means to you that he and you spend Thanksgiving together? I would pull out all the stops here. Tell him it is just for a few hours, can he not put up with them for a few hours out of an entire year? He might also like some reassurance you are not going to let your sister cuss him out again and get away with it (if that is what happened last time). I really would emphasize how much you want him to go to be with you if nothing else. Then if all else fails, yes I am saying this, use the crying card. I am pulling for you!!!
About three hours ago!!! sm
I was walking down the hallway here at the hospital where I work. It is linoleum flooring and I have pumps on. I was heading down to the radiology department to talk to the doc about something and probably going a little too fast. I was turning the corner in the hallway and my heel just slipped right out from underneath my feet! I was mortified. But, you know what makes the story even better?...today is laundry day and all I had to wear to work today was a DRESS!!!!!!. So, I'm sitting on my rump in the middle of a busy hospital hallway trying to cover up my tush before the ENTIRE hospital saw it.
So, in conclusion I guess you could say that:
1. I will not be wearing a skirt or dress again to work any time soon.
and
2. I probably need to slow down on the corners!!!
LOL
Just got back from HOURS in the ER.
I don't understand why ER visits take so long. There were only two of us in there and we came in together. I was there for 3 1/2 hours.
Anyhoo, after my doctor stopped laughing, I was diagnosed with a flu-like viral illness, second degree ankle sprain, an award winning black eye and dehydration. I do normally have lower blood pressure around 100-110/49-70 and it was about 98/49 when he first saw me. He thinks I was just super talented and passed out from the stomach pain/nausea and sitting on the pot. I have an Aircast to wear for the next few weeks and told to just take it easy. He was more concerned about the chronic nausea I've had since my gallbladder surgery last year, but I think my body just misses all that lovely bile it produced.
So for now I'm pushing fluids and taking it easy.
Or maybe they could wait a few hours
before coming to the board where they very well know the east coasters want to be talking about it.
Yes, but after work hours is the same (nm)

P.S. - I was lucky, only out about 26 hours
and no trees down in my yard.
It's within a few hours of Las Vegas I believe
and 35 years ago when I lived in Vegas - Pahrump was a very, very small town - probably just a dot on the map - maybe not even a stop light - think I heard recently on some travel show that it had grown - but then again most all Nevada towns lately have.
3 p.m. I am so Hungry! 3 more hours
and I start the prep...Rite Aid Oral Saline AKA Fleets PhosphO-Soda AT 6 p.m. Ugghh. My DH's time is near as well. Just as well, I am throwing up everything I try to eat as my GERD symptoms and esophageal stricture is acting up. Think I will just get in my jammies and jump in bed.
4 hours of commuting
Sorry, but I think you are being a wee bit selfish. Your husband is commuting 4 hours a day, 20 hours a week. That is like having a part time job. But you don't want him gone a few nights a week because you will miss him? Give the guy a break. It is only for a few months. Like they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Okay, I'll do two hours
So the tougher the cuts the less time you marinate?
I would be happy with 6 hours a day...sm
Be glad you have work which I am sure you are. I know I need to look for another job. But it isn't easy in these times.
Calcium - take 2-4 every few hours. nm
nm
Actually, the first visit was 4 hours.
The next two were 2 hours each, if that matters.
Long Hours
I think you need to send your kids to your parents house for a overnight visit and have a long talk with your husband. A marriage is a two-way street, you may have run up the credit cards but he is the one getting laid off. True it is through no fault of his own but for him to put it all off on you and declare himself retired at 50 with two young children to raise leaving the burden of all the bills up to you is just plain wrong. Excuse me for saying this but you sound like you are afraid to approch him to talk about this, is there another reason that you are afraid to talk to him about it, besides the usual...I don't want to start a fight? How convenient for him, you keep your mouth shut, work even harder than you do now, support the family and he will watch TV while you do it. That just isn't how a marriage is supposed to work and is that what you want your kids to see as an example, the bottom falls out and Dad reacts by shutting down and watching TV?
Approximately 2 hours or so
I agree with the above poster. It's usually a ratio of 4 hours typing for 1 hour of dictation. It does vary, though for each individual.
I lose focus after a few hours : (

Tell you how I worked excessive hours
I did the same way as you for several years. I went to work at 5, got off at 1, took a short nap and then went back to work at 5 and worked until 10. This was 5 days a week and then worked the 5-10 on the weekends at least 1 day if not the second also. This nap was probably what kept me going for all those years I worked like that. By the way, only work part now and so happy finally able to get past all those hours.
...kill anyone, especially in just a few hours. Might be uncomfortable,

In VA about 2 hours from the coast, after the last hurricane - sm
in 2003 (also due to 9-11 though) ours jumped from $400 to 650; which compared to those of you in FL is nothing obviously but at the time it seemed quite large. Our car insurance is still quite low though about $400 a year for each of our 2 trucks.
Had to leave mine outside for a few hours
I kept wondering why sellers on ebay would put 'from a smoke-free home' on their ads. I eventually found out why! The smoke smell from the book was driving my cats crazy so I finally put it on the table on the porch outside and let it air out for a few hours.
But they can say I need xx reports/lines in 24 hours.

My mom is 8 hours away - but they happily stay with her (sm)
When I go visit my family, my kids stay with my mother while I go and visit other friends, etc. The difference might be that they have cousins there to play with and my mother jokes and plays with them and is affectionate. In-laws are not that way. No kids around my in-laws. I really don't know exactly why they think it is so horrible. I have asked them. They just say that they are bored, grandma is strict, she won't make any adaptations to things she cooks and makes them eat whatever she makes, she takes them to all-adult functions and makes them sit through things. They also have a farm and sometimes make the kids work very hard digging potatoes or whatever they are doing at the time.
A pup should not be expected to "hold it" for 8 hours

You have to have 150 hours with specific courses
I know. My sister just sat for it.
I work too many hours to have a TV schedule BUT
My daughter was visiting from college during winter break and downloaded The Office. I didn't watch at first, just heard it while I was doing other things... but I just was drawn to watch. So when I finished 10 hours of work, we'd watch like 5 or 6 in a row. I'm almost caught up and this show is just SO funny to me.
So that's it. My favorite show to watch is THE OFFICE. Can't believe no one said it yet.
