vacuum
I found that spending alot of money on a vacuum does not mean you are getting a better one. We had the phantom, a eureka which stunk, and an $80 kenmore which seems to be the best.
Vacuum
I just bought a new one and I love it! The new Dirt Devil Reaction. It is the best! I had a Dirt Devil prior but it finally started falling apart. Love this one even more. No bags, just hit a button and the dirt falls out the bottom of the tank. It is great. Picks up the dirt with ease -- heavy, but easy to push around. I perfer a heavier one anyway the lighter vacuums seem to fall apart. I wish the cord were a bit longer, but other than that it is great!
If you vacuum it really well sm

and take it outside and use a water hose to wash it down thoroughly and leave it to dry in the sun, it might be usable.

I applaud your desire to resuse/recycle but I would be very careful with something like this. Maybe I'm overly cautious because I have severe sinus/allergy problems....

Any horse people out there? I need
a website, similar to this one, for help and opinions about horses and their issues.  I already subscribe to Equus and Horse Illustrated as well as a few online newsletters.  Thanks!
We have 2 dogs and a horse
The dogs are Patch and Bud, and the horse is named Elmo.

Over the years we have also had a dog named Rascal and a guinea pig named Oreo.
Well, I'm as big as a horse lately - so it's perfect ! LOL (nm)

What a gorgeous horse!! sm
I am sure he is just as happy where he is now as he was with you! You saved his life once and he won't forget that! Bless you both!
Emily Ayn - my horse, Dog
You asked for pics? Well here you go! LOL

This is Blackjack, my 2 yr old stud colt. He isn't scared of anything!

That door is my garage! the front is closed, so the only way he got in was to go up those stone steps. As you can see he already terrorized everything in the backyard! Not to mention, when you walk in that doorway there are cabinets on the left and a freezer about three feet in, so there was barely any room to squeeze in! (Also a lawn mower is parked in there, and all kinds of other crap!)

He also likes to walk up trailers that teeter-totter (like the ones they use to haul tractors) and I believe he would come in the house if I let him!
What is the best vacuum on the market?

my beloved central vac.  So, needless to say, I need a new vacuum.  I would appreciate any insight anyone has.  The one I am looking at now is the Kenmore Iridium.  HELP!!!!

best value, great vacuum is the
Eureka 'the boss' smartvac, at Walmart outcleans Dyson --
works great!!
rainbow vacuum
I have the one my brother was going to kick to the curb. LOVE IT! No dust being recirculated! Just remember not to leave the top part on the water-filled base, bad idea.
Does anyone have a Rainbow vacuum and if so ..sm
would you share your likes/dislikes?  I am considering buying one but would like unbiased opinions please!  Thanks.

no, they don't ou ever see a *horse* change color?

Wannie:  You have said you married and divorced your DH x3....I can just imagine what a roller coaster that must have been.  So, how did YOUR *horse* change colors?  *curious* ...via therapy?  Intense therapy would have done it - that's the only way....

But then if I married the same dude x3 - I would never tell the world it wasn't working out (if it truly wasn't working out).....goes along with my belief of 3 strikes and yer out.......

perhaps not for you, but for most........perhaps you just *lucked* out...and that's GREAT if he truly turned the corner and remained turning the corner....it's just one never hears that any longer...

Best of luck!!

Likening a spouse to a dog or horse...
imagine if a male doc suggested treating a wife like that; the outrage would be heard round the world. Maybe acting like adults and having a conversation like a married couple would help. How demeaning to treat a husband that way. Where do you women find these men that you have to "train"? Gesh, I always thought my DH was fabulous...now I am CERTAIN he is!
There is no such thing as a free horse!

But I love TBs!  I think I'd go broke on the transportation costs from KY to CA though.  Wish I were closer : (

I have a 1-eyed senior Morgan, 1 senior "crazy" Arab and young pony with locked stifle, not to mention my 4 dogs, 9 cats and a parrot; all rescues or "free" (although those of us who love animals know there is no such thing as a "free" animal - lol).

My aunt used to vacuum her cats.
She used to vacuum the cats, and they loved it.  Plus, it got the dander off.
Opinions on a good vacuum. sm

We are putting down rugs this weekend.  I  need to buy a new vacuum.  I am looking in the middle range price wise.  What do you think is a good vacuum.

TIA

I had a vacuum-cleaner Dalmatian. She ate -- (sm)
oranges, sticks, gophers, anything leather, including a 6-foot leather dog leash. One day she even ate the plastic lenses out of the tail-lights of my dad's car. She was the easiest dog in the world to give a pill to! All we had to do was say, 'Want a treat?' and toss the pill at her. Didn't even have to hide it in anything. She'd catch it in mid-air and it'd go straight down her throat.
I visualized a horse, love to ride
and today  I was given a beautiful paint gelding
Agree with that! Looking down from her high horse on the rest of us?!!!

Live CAM--watch horse have a baby (maybe!)

Too cool not to share is all...This is live feed from a farm in Texas and I guess this mare is due to foal any time now.  Thought animal lovers might enjoy it.

Poll time: What is the best vacuum cleaner out

We are talking hoses, cords, bagless, baggy, bulky, suctiony, heavy, you name it.  I am looking for the perfect vacuum!  Just moved from a house with central vac and I am going to miss it!!!

Thanks!!!

Sprinkle with baking soda and then vacuum
Works wonders.
oops, my response there was to mighty high horse..
.
My Dyson vacuum followed by a Swiffer keeps my blinds cleaned..
But that's more maintenance. The best way to get them really clean is to take them down and wash them in the tub.
Vacuum cleaner works great for me! Love those midair catches.

Loved it!!!. nm
Ha Ha
I loved NC
I was 20 miles north of charlotte.  I think NC is a beautiful state.  I would love to go back some day to a metro part of NC.
We have had them and loved them...

got my daughter one when she was about 13 (she is 25 now) and she has had 3 others since. Ours were all descented, though they did still smell some, but just gave them baths, which they love! We got such a kick out of watching Tinker (our first one) run throughout the house stealing socks and hiding them under the couch. Never had a problem with them, they sleep most of the time, ours were never aggressive towards us. Our cat and ferret got along wonderfully. Just like anything else in a cage, you have to keep it clean, but that is to be expected.

Me too and I loved it. nm

Loved.

Loved my mom, but.... sm
Sunshine, when I look back, I wish I had not taken what my mother said as gospel. I would have used my own discretion as to right and wrong behavior and SHE would have to grow up and accept it. You know in your heart what is right and wrong or you would not have asked us for advice. Your Mom needs your love, but you also need to be your very own person. You have a new life now which includes your husband. Do it for him, go with him and if they don't want to go along, tell them you will look forward to celebrating with them next day. In the meantime, they can "be your guest and have a good time until you get home." You take care, be strong!! All the things Mom teaches us are not exactly the right thing to do. Be fair.
Loved it!
These things happen all the time and we have to laugh at it. Just read your local newspaper for more. We are wordsmiths, so we have to have a little humor now and then. We were celebrating a birthday, an anniversary and something else all at once, so we asked to have "Happy Occasion" written on the cake. We had a terrible time getting "occasion" spelled correctly by those behind the counter. Blame the school system, not the cake decorator.
LOVED IT
although it was sad, it was very funny in parts, and had an awsome ending, can't believe the reviews were so bad, favorite movie since The Holiday. Loved seeing Denny from Grey's Anatomy in it. And yes, I need a poster of Gerard Butler now on my wall, LOL!!! My new fantasy man.
Loved it. Thx
x
Yes and I LOVED IT
I loved that show--how you doin.. Heehee
My dog is very much loved thank you ---
what I mean is that I will never, never get rid of him so that no matter how much he irritates me by marking up everything I have in the house, chewing up my things that he can get to, scratching up my hardwood floors, pulling down my curtains when he wants to play, then I have about 10 more years of headaches because I love him dearly and he is not leaving this house!

So don't feel sorry for my ball of fur - he is very spoiled and very much loved!
I loved 4H
But could be because my best friends mom taught it and we were all together all the time. I have to admit the most I remember about 4H was learning to can food, basic nutrition, I knitted my first pair of slippers, but at 48 its been over 30 years, so I don't remember much, just that I had fun and learned stuff. Here in our town (now on the west coast) they do have 4H groups around. But nice to know there are other 4Hers out there.

P.S. - Not sure if you remember that girl scouts went like this - brownies grade 2&3, junior grade 4, 5 & 6, cadettes 6 & 7, seniors 8 and maybe 9 (can't) remember. Now there are so many branches and I get offended when they call say you have brownies and then girl scouts. I consider all levels girl scouts. Well its been over 20 or so years since I've been in girl scouts too so lots have changed.
loved it!

Thanks and Amen!

I did and LOVED it
I just love all of them, and thought they all looked great. I still watch their original MTV series DVD and laugh myself silly.

I'll keep watching it (provided I remember when it's on...I have a terrible memory about that kind of stuff!).

That made my day, I loved it !!...nm

ooh, your's too - I LOVED YOUR POST....

I too have friends of ALL denominations - so whose is right??  I think much of it is myth....the adam and eve story whereby if woman was made from his rib, then men should have 1 less rib than woman, right?  WRONG....my plastic surgeon (who I work for) confirmed that both men and women have 12 ribs.......

so that adam and eve story was shot to you-know-what once he said that to me....

oh and he's a religious Jewish person *LOL*

I loved reading this. sm
I also read it on the Comedy board and shared it with my Bible School class. Will share wtih my adult Sunday School also.
Loved the original. sm
I haven't seen this one yet, but I will. A couple of columnists have said that it is not as good as the original. One said J. Travolta was fabulous but the rest were just okay and not as good as the musical. Someone else said it didn't seem to live up to it's hype. I guess to each his own.
If you really loved me, by Ann Rule. sm
she writes true crime books, really excellent writer, one of my favorites. However, I need to mix it in with chick lit, recently finished The Devil Wears Prada. Had the Nanny Diaries on my mp3 player (I thought the stories had a similar tone). Also like Michael Lee West book Mad Girls in Love, because it takes place in Tennessee, and she had some familiar places in it. Want to read some of her other stuff.
I loved them both, but get the books
and then nobody will have to talk you into seeing the rest of the movies, LOL.

Plus with the movies you don't get into Harry's head as much, and that's where you get to know Harry. I can only imagine that people who only see the movies don't know him nearly as well as the readers do.

just curious - did you see any of your loved ones? sm
i too kinda believe in reincarnation. mom my swears my daughter is my sister reincarnated. odd, but lots of similarities.
I loved the first couple of those they did but since then
it has gotten just too cutthroat for me, and the people they have on there are not likeable enough to make me want to root for any of them.
Loved, I agree (nm)

Loved all these fun movies sm
You had Joe Pesci correct. I am not a person who swears a lot but he swears so much, it gets hilarious. Of course, I watch him with no kids around. He swore so much in Casino that I was laughing all by myself. Husband and I are getting older, so we joke about Python's skit - Bring out your Dead! But I'm not dead yet! So hilarious! Thanks for the laughs. No offense meant by the swearing, I just love Joe Pesci, loved him when he was ordered by the court to live in his own slum houses. I am sure he's a much nicer guy in person. Thanks for the memories.
