I remember those days too, but these days they don't want make any child felt left out. They wan
to make each of them feel special and that they have accomplished something. My 8-year-old brings a certificate of some kind during the day, accelerated reader award, trustworthy award, jr. achievement award, etc. I guess in a way, no one kid is pointed out as the "teacher's pet" or have the other kids being jealous of him/her for getting this or that award.
Nope, not even in traffic.
:P
Traffic ticket/warrant
I do not know what state you are in but in Oregon if you would have shown up and shown that you got your renewal they cut the fine well below half. Also the warrant that they issue will only be enforced if they happen to stop you. They have more pressing matters to go after than somewhat with a warrant out for not paying a traffic ticket. Also it takes them 3 days to process it and get it out to the cops on patrol. They will revoke your driver's license which costs more to reinstate than the actual ticket. We also get the opportunity to "write in" and still plead not guility or mail in copies that you did "fix" the problem. They also give you 30 days to pay from the time of appearance. So I guess I am glad that I live in Oregon afterall. And how I know all of this is that my nephew is Captain of Police here. Too bad you live in such a state. It will get better, keep after the child support. Good luck.
Power Outage @ Traffic Intersection
We met during a power failure. He was running a generator to keep the traffic lights at a railroad crossing working (worked for road commission), and I was at my second job doing transcription and trying to find out when the power would be on so I could do my reports and go home. Walked up to the intersection and asked him. He said he would called electric company in about a half hour and check back then. 90 degree heat and humid after hellacious thunderstorms knocked the power out all over the city. I came back and took him a bottle of water, a cookie, and a bag of chips. He said thanks and said it would be about one more hour. He watched me walked back to the building and when the power was on came and told my boss how nice I was and checked the fuse box. Came back two nights later with flowers and asked me out. The rest is history . . . Married five years and still going strong.
Traffic is lighter earlier in the morning
And you'll have a little extra time at your vacation destination! I'm usually geared up to go on vacation anyway and it doesn't seem too awful to have to get up early and go!
Hope you have a great time!
Update traffic court/child support
Well, I managed to make it to family court yesterday and back home while flying low :) My son-in-law walked out 5 months in arrears and next payment due 3/1, already in debt for about 2 grand, plus he has to pay for the DNA test (99.999% - ha, didn't need Maury after all!) My daughter is $1500 in arrears with another payment due 3/1, and her order has been moved over into the category to take any Federal Income Tax refunds she gets in the future to be applied to the order. So now, finally, I should have no further court appearances unless the two want to TPR (terminpate parental rights) and let me adopt. The next step for my daughter is jail if she doesn't pay in March, so she is already making noises she might let me adopt. The dud has wanted to me to adopt her all along to avoid CS.
I went to municipal court and had the arrest warrant removed and was given another 2 months to pay the s-t-u-p-i-d ticket. I asked whether the judge would accept that I corrected the tag problem the next day and was told no. If it was expired at the time the ticket was written, then they do not make exceptions. I checked our local newspaper and the city hired 11 new officers in 2006 for the specific purpose of enforcing vehicle/driving codes in the city. They have increased the number of traffic-related tickets issued to almost 18,000 in 2006, up from less than 8,000 in 2004. Now I just have to remember to pay it, but did buy a new day planner today and have written 3 reminders to myself to pay it on time
On another note, as I have no health insurance and need certain maintenance medications (almost $1000) a month, I found needymeds.com. I have already received a 3-month supply of one drug and will be receiving another each month shipped to my doctor's office. The manufacturers help people who fall between the cracks by providing free medications.
I feel a lot better about things.
Can you let us know what it turns out to be?
It would be interesting.
I'm battling skin staph or something right now myself. What a pain.
I've been sick with something ever since Misha died. Zapped my immune system, I think.
I'm having to take turns with DH, so
I'm only to chapter 7 so far.
It is so funny that he is the one who ordered it, but when the UPS man brought it he took the package and said, "Oh, HER book came." He couldn't admit to the UPS guy he ordered it for himself!
ROFL.
But I'm totally in denial that it's the last one. :op
Let us know how it turns out for you...nm
nm
In my area it is *70 and turns it off just for..
that call. If that doesn't work look in the front of your white pages telephone book and it should give you the code for your area.
I hope all turns out okay for you....nm
x
Mine was too. Turns out DH
changed us to decaf for I don't know how many days without telling me. Oh, because we ran out of regular coffee.
Grrrr!
you did not tell her she turns your stomach, right?
nm
Don't ask me how but "this" always turns to **** nm
nm
Well I'll let you know how it turns out
Since I ordered one, we'll see. Talked to hubby and he said he had talked to somone who actually has one and they think its great, they also heat with wood and use this to supplement at night, that's why he left the article.
I don't want to give up my wood and convert because its free and I love the smell (hubby cuts me hickory!) but I know someone who has a corn stove and they love it. I love my wood stove and wouldn't go back to central unless forced to, its the only time in my life I've been truly warm in the winter!
Wow, if this turns out to be right, I am really impressed!...nm

Turns out feds were looking
for her too! Boy did her business and life go to heck in a handbasket!
Before this turns into a full blown....sm
back and forth free for all, you also don't know me personally to make assumptions about my personality. This has gotten old quickly, so I'll leave with these thoughts.
You expressed an opinion saying you were ill about her treatment which you thought was above and beyond.
I expressed an opinion, in turn, basically saying if you were in her situation you would want that same protection, considering it's very plausible that it's the obsessive fans and need to know that probably put her in this situation.
Opinions are opinions, facts are facts, and considering all the information any of us knows come from cutthroat reporters who are looking to make that big story, it would be rare if anyone knew any true story about a celeb.
I know if I were famous and hounded by people 24/7, and having a mental breakdown to boot, you can bet your bippy I'd do whatever in my power to make sure I had nobody around who could violate my privacy any more than it had already been violated.
As for the doctors getting suspended, if they weren't on her case, and it's not a teaching hospital, and if she has security, then it's for a reason, and they should have known better than to violate her privacy. Doctors can violate HIPAA just as easily as anyone else, and that's what they were doing, because it's also very possible that those same docs who just wanted a quick peek, probably couldn't keep it to themselves, or they wouldn't have been nosing in her business in the first place. They got less than they deserved.
Walk a mile in her shoes. Have sympathy and compassion in your heart for those who need it, which she obviously does!
There is usually a little button that doesnt look important that turns the LCD on and off
I know my Sony does as does my brothers that is a different brand
Good Luck !!!!
Great news! Hope it turns out well for you. nm

This season has been full of twists and turns! sm
Boy, what a goon Eric is!!! I think he is such an innocent young man. To trust those women, good grief! I believe he is the only person ever to give up immunity in all the seasons of the show. It was bad enough when James got voted off with two idols in his pocket, but I think last night with Eric handing over his power to those girls was insane. He was dominating the game, yet he allowed himself to be sucked in. Amanda has played a cool game with her manipulation of various players. I can see her winning. I cannot say I care much for the other two girls as winners at this point, but we shall see. I will definitely be watching on Sunday!
Question. Do many of you have problems with streets, turns, etc. driving at night in strange areas
you are not familiar with. I am not thrilled by night driving in unfamiliar towns.
Not left to me, just trying to add some help (sm)
He does got to an ESL program regularly at school, but his teacher (and I agree) feels he needs more help. She is questioning whether there may be a learning disability instead of just a language barrier and I am starting to wonder the same thing. I am not in charge of his learning in any way, but I really would love to help him if I can.
At that rate, I could make in a week what I make

My left toolbar only
has "top" "home" and "contact" I will contact the moderator. Thanks for your help!
A decision on this would not be left
up to me at all. This is not something I put my 2 cents in about. Their parents would be the ones to do this, that is unless the daughter/granddaughter is of age where she makes her own decisions. I have both but someone elses decisions, not mine.
no she's not further left than Rosie....
like most of the world.........*lol*
You left one out ----- NO tree.

Sounds like somebody was PO'd to be left - sm
at home. If we leave them inside we gate the dogs into our dining room and utility room (the 2 rooms are connected) so they have 2 rooms to hang in and nothing of any consequence if they decide to chew. Luckily they don't chew on furniture but will rip up what is handy within their reach sometimes. Leave lots of dog toys and give them some rawhides and a pig ear. We had a chewer in the past, she ate a couch (down to the frame).....ended up penning her in the bathroom during the day, hated to do it but it was the only way for her not the chew up the entire house, other than that she was a great dog.
I had a dog once that hated when I left and would eat anything he could get...sm
We put him in an old fashioned wire dog cage and he bent the door down on it and then ate through the wall and then on to my moms sofa, pillows, and rugs. Needless to say mom was not happy with me or Rambo! He was just a stray that got so attached to me he would get angry when I left him. Ended up taking him everywhere I could!!
So you all have left your husband over sm
the same situation? I just need to validate that it's okay for me to feel this way. This has come to a point where it is just ridciulous and he makes me feel like I am wrong for feeling this way or even telling him I can no longer live like this.
I have 3, one on my left biceps, one on
upper chest. I got them all when I was young.
NO! I left mine at
the bridal shop until the day before the wedding even.
I'm so fired up left off, "I don't THINK its right! nm

Well he finally left....sm
He asked when my husband would be home and I said tonight and he left. He is staying somewhere else. He is getting an apartment next week 30 miles away from here he said so I am glad. I hate to say it but I am tired of babysitting. I got to where when he comes and won't leave I just stay in my office.
Left untreated
If nothing else, you would need to see your doctor to get a note for your employer. You would have to stay out of work for at least, the very least, a full week and it should be more. With mono, plenty of rest and staying away from other people is essential.
Left untreated??
It's a virus so there really is no treatment other than supportive, symptomatic care. It's not extremely contagious, as it's spread through saliva and mucus. A doctor or clinic can diagnose it with a Monospot test, and it should run its course in about 4 weeks.
Got any left?? YUMMMM

My younger left at almost 30 and
I hope they do fine and can maintain their own lives outside of mine. I love my own life, I travel quite a bit, do the things I want and to me the child rearing years not half as satisfying as my life is now.
Are you saying you left the dog or dogs
alone at a home, giving them food and water until their parents get back?
sounds as if ( ) DH/SO left her
for a much younger, prettier, 22-year-old. The joke reminds me of one of my favorite Country songs by Billy Ray Cyrus..."Where Am I Gonna Live?"
Where am I gonna live when I get home?
My old lady's thrown out everything I own.
She meant what she said
when she wished I was dead
So, where am I gonna live when I get home?
I knew our road was gettin kinda rocky
She said I was gettin way too cocky
She waited till I was gone
She packed from dusk till dawn
So where am I gonna live when I get home?
She decided she would keep my cat
My transportation, I wouldn't be needing that
She kept my TV
The bills, she gave to me
So, where am I gonna live when I get home?
What money left over?
The man died from what I am hearing insolvent (is that the correct spelling),anyway over $400 million in debt. Not good. They said probably would be worth more dead now than alive. The only reason supposedly he was trying a comeback was that he needed the money. He had, from what I heard, half of the Beatle's porfolio he had not sold and some other rights. By the time his estate pays off what he owes, might be the only thing left for the children would be the album, record sales and a setup like Elvis had. He had sold his Neverland home to pay off debts. The man was broke.
Is he single?? LOL - not many good ones left. nm

Left you a long answer before your
post got moved to this board - I guess posts to your post got deleted. Anyway - get help for him!! Good luck!
I can bet those parents that left their children with the
Catholic priests over there felt the same way. I am not trying to flame you, but I do get a little unnerved when people use the word "Christian" in a description of another. Yes, personal experience has taught me that if someone uses the word to describe themselves they usually have to say it because their actions don't show it.
I do understand your comfort zone and the fact that you have known this person for a long time, but I do want you to be aware thaat sometimes the grass is not quite as green and lush behind closed doors and what he tells you for the eason of the divorce is HIS perception of it. Theer are always 3 stories; His, hers, and the truth.
Last, I want to just stress to go into it without expectations. I began to date a Deacon from the church that was highly regarded and someone I had known for years. Fairly early on he began to show sigsn of control, which I shoudl have heeded, but then he wanted a lot more than I coudl give emotionally yet and actually went to my 9-year-old son and told him that he really did not think he would be able to continue his friendship with him because "Mommy just won't give me what I need emotionally and sexually." Yes, this really did happen and I found out about when my son was in tears and mad at me for it all. No, this does not normally happen and I hope it never does to anyone, but what I am trying to convey is that you need to be cautious and concerned with anyone in your life. Just don;t get too fixated by the "christian" label.
I wish nothing but happiness and love for you in the future!!
So sad she has left a small baby as well. nm
nm
I wish you would have left the initial responses on it :(

I was glad those 3 left today...sm
I couldn't believe Nicole was sobbing the way she was...c'mon! It's just a game/competition. I have a hard time believing they could actually be in love with the man. I mean, he seems sweet and has a hot bod (LOL) but it must be so unnatural in this setting. I was really glad that one witchy backstabbing blonde left (I don't know her name).
I think he has a soft spot for Bevin, Amber, and Tina...but I think he also likes that other Stephanie too! LOL...I dunno.
It's fun (and sometimes embarrassing) to watch...gives me a good chuckle.
:D Chickadee
Please tell me I'm not the only Gilmore Girls fan left and ...
...that someone can tell me what happened last night. I wasn't home and my VCR is so hard to program, I didn't have time.
I so agree - left at 18, therapy from 8-28...sm
And have been in fine shape ever since. I became my own hero the day I walked out the door for good at 18, never looking back...never went back, not even for dinner, though kept in touch all the time with my father via his work/job, phone or going directly there, my father always trying to be the peacemaker. I tried for several years and several different time but once one is so poisonous - you have a choice...and I always chose not to be involved with poisonous types of people.
Therapy IS the ticket FOR SURE and there's all kinds of therapies out there today for all kinds of personalities. Thank goodness for that - I was into the new-wave therapies back in the late 1960s-70s....
Bless everyone going through all of this either prior or now.....Bless ALL.
I think it is too young to be left alone all day during the summer with a ...sm
5-year-old. There will also be 2 girls, ages 13 and 8, left alone all day as well. They are neighbors so it should be interesting. I am the only mother home during the day but I'm not getting involved. I'm taking care of mine. I have to be able to work without constant drama during the day. I may let my daughter go somewhere part-time just to have something to do and not be so bored. This is her first summer home (I worked in an office past 2 summers) and I want her to be able to enjoy it. Things will get better. Time will take care of a lot of it....I hope.
