thinks is right for her family. There is no reason to justify that or feel bad because her daughter is upset.
When you are a parent, it is not your job to be a friend, it is your job to teach your children what you feel, morally, is right and wrong.
If the OP feels that it is wrong to have the daughter's best friend over, then so be it. It is her house!
This whole talk about family lasts forever is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. So, you're going to let your teenagers do what they want to do, even though you are responsible for them, because you don't want them to be mad at you because they are family????
Granted, that is the way I would have seen it WHEN I WAS 16!!! Now that I am a mother, I do not take for granted that it is my responsiblity to care for them and do my best to teach them right from wrong when they are in my house, whether they like it or not.
I'm off the soapbox now!
