I think sometimes those at the bar do know they are gifted (sm)

and like the article above says, they learned they shouldn't have to try. I worry about that with my son who is identifed as AG. He is very, very smart but got a C in AG 6th grade math & spent the year feeling dumb, yet he didn't want to study or do his homework, or turn his work in. I think that is more of the case of why they are at the local bar. That and the fact that things start to feel pointless...gifted people start to look at the world as working to live, so that you can live to work some more. I tested borderline genius in the 7th grade and refused to take AG classes because I did not want the extra stress and challenge, I just wanted to enjoy my life.
