I think Faith Hill is over-rated

I never did get the big buzz about her. If she weren't married to Tim no one would have ever heard of her. She's an opportunist and looks like a gawky dodo bird. I'm glad she finally got busted for being the insincere phony she truly is.

Faith Hill
I was pleased to see a genuine reaction. When they smile and clap for the other person, we all know it's phony - each of them thinks they will win.

As far as Carrie Underwood winning the award, I agree with Faith - WHAT???? She isn't in the same league with the other nominees and had no business being nominated. Just because someone dreams of some thing doesn't mean they deserve to have it. Being the most popular, which is what American Idol is all about, does not mean you have a shred of talent. The song leaders in my local church have more talent than Carrie Underwood.
Anybody see the Faith Hill freak-out on...
I didn't see the show, but saw the video on, what is it, utube or youtube? Anyhow, I googled it and the video came up...can't tell if it's for real or not! If it is, she's a sore loser!
Faith Hill's only talent is hitchin' her proverbial wagon
She has no more talent than Carrie does. As a matter of fact, Carrie's better and didn't need to marry a big name to break into show business.
Haley and I think she sang If My Heart Had Wings by Faith Hill. She is okay but -sm-
Sabrina deserved to stay. I don't think Antonella should have made it to the top 24.  I think the producers had to know about her background and put her on to give the show more attention (not that it needed any).  I agree with the poster from the other day that only two of the winners deserved to win, Carrie and Kelly although I have not purchased anything of Taylors.  I have purchased cds by Clay, Kimberly Locke and Josh Gracin and they are all excellent.  I even purchased a short cd by Carmen Rasmussen that wasn't too bad.  Rubin and Fantasia were not my type of singers.  I am sure they have a lot of fans to get where they are but they were not my favorites and I would probably not buy any of their music.
I believe it is rated MA, and if not it should
be. As for reading the series for Twilight, once I started I could not put it down. With the first book, the first 7 chapters are slow, but if you get past that you are hooked.
I think Dyson is rated well unless
you have pets. None of the bagless ones are great for pet hair, and Dyson is bagless. I believe the Kenmore Progressive rated well. I have one, and it worked well when it was new, but it is currently broken 2 ways. It is the cannister type, and cannister types supposedly have great suction. My parents paid a lot more for their Electrolux, and my Progressive rates higher. Maybe I'm just rough on vacuums, LOL. But at least you can roll the wheels over the cord without stripping it down to the wires like on my previous Kenmore, LOL.
They are highly rated, and I just got some, but
my sister claims that Avon has a product that actually has higher amounts of the same active ingredients and is supposedly better. I don't know which is better, but I know that some of the highest priced products don't rate well at all.
Sleep is over-rated. LOL. I am lucky if
x
I am glad Revlon rated well.
Seems like they focused on red colors. Was red linked to lead? Because I think red pottery glaze used to be a culprit for lead.

I'm surprised Burt's Bees had any, although at least it wasn't in the higher category. That company was just sold, so the new owners will have to deal with it.
Well they do get rated up if they buy individual plans (nm)
x
If I had answered with my first thought, X-rated back
but would be off this board so I will say after my bath this morning just put on some Lubriderm as my skin tends to be very dry.
Re: Faith Help.
Hello,

Though I have always been a believer (grandfather was a minister), I learned to accept "faith." Faith is not an organized religious system, but in fact just knowing in your heart to trust God at all times..for everything. If you are an atheist, I, too, question why he began dating you. I dated atheists in the past, and it will not work; however, believing in God is another thing. Maybe you have not reached that point where you can learn to "trust" God and have "faith." No, I don't attend church regularly, but do have a lot of "faith" as I have been dealt with by God on this issue. It is truly a matter of "real" belief..just knowing that God is "real." I have been proven to several times in my life that God is real, and that is where my faith in God stemmed.

As for you and your man, if you love him and believe there is no one else to fulfill your life, and he feels the same about you, why would you question him now? Why would you want to break-up? Just have enough faith to know that it will work out in the long run. God is love, and love with overpower all things. If you go to church with him and search out the "faith" not in people but in God, then God will show you that He is real. :) Hope this helps, and hope all things work out for you two.
and some of us are not of that faith too...

We should consider everybody, not just the Christians, but really wouldn't that be the Christian thing to do, to consider EVERYBODY in this life?

*just my take on things*

I am not religious, rather spiritual though and considerate and caring for everybody always and very compassionate.

I truly have faith and
totally agree with everyting you said. We have a wonderful church family and I do have faith that whatever happens is totally in God's plan.
Poll time - should a 12-17-year-old have adult language CDs and R-rated movies...sm
bought for them?  My husband & I disagree on this.  Our 15-year-old daughter wants a DVD from a rock group that has the adult language warnings on them and I don't want them to have any of them, but he doesn't see a problem with it.  He says she can hear language like that at school but I don't think a kid should own it to listen to the foul mouthed stuff at their own leisure.  What do you think?
over the hill
You can't take it with you!

We get our used cars from a broker who goes to car auctions. They are lease or rental returns and you can be very picky about what you want with how many miles, etc. Used cars are becoming scarce in this economy though, so I really would not wait. The broker comes to my city to get the cars, but I do have to drive about 150 miles to his dealership to buy the car. A good broker is worth the drive.
Good luck!
Going to see Tim and Faith tonite
My 19 year old great nephew got tickets for us to see Tim and Faith.   It was out of the blue and he said it was cuz I am always doing things for him and his brothers, his Dad is my nephew and they are his kids so great nephew.  Made me feel good but it is hard to accept as I know he really could not afford them with going to college and working part-time.  Hard for me to accept but easy for me to give.  Anyway, going out for some fun tonight.   Told him I would buy dinner.  He is coming by early to put my new BBQ together and then out we go.
blind faith is EXACTLY what...
God expects.  You got it right, believe what you cannot see.  Have faith that God will show you the way...IF YOU BELIEVE...you must believe and have complete and total faith in the Lord that he will sustain you.  It's not easy, of course, but it must be done...according to God...
Women of Faith
Hi, Country MT - I love WOF.  Have been to 2.  Really can't pick a favorite; they are all great!  Sounds like you are a Christian also - oh, no - will I get in trouble for using that word?  By your name, I'm assuming you live in middle of nowhere; I do too.  Tiny, tiny town in IL, 400 people max.  I love this board.  Gives me an outlet when bored.  I really should be on working toward the bonus, but it is Saturday, will get to it sometime today.
Over the Hill Party sm
You can have a big bash with old friends from school, stating no gifts, and just have refreshments and put on a favorite football game. You could have a team theme. There are plenty of "over the hill" items around. A few friends or just the family, you can buy napkins, plates, etc., at a party store. Depends on his personality, Spencer Gifts is great for small stuff, but be careful, some of it is adults only. If money is tight, you could do a "Dollar Store Only" gift party which would apply to him. My husband has a terrific sense of humor, so it was easy. He likes to cook, so I bought him a paper chef's hat at a party store and a big frying pan and some oven mitts. I asked others just to bring funny over-the-hill cards only, no gifts. There are tons of possibilities, it depends on his personality. I happen to have one that loves funny gifts and feels embarrased if anyone gives him money or gifts. If he isn't that type, then something more sedate would be in order. The main thing - have fun! If your transcription money is just rolling in - a big TV to watch the game or his favorite show. (That's a joke.)
May be a mole's hill to you but
I hate for my daughter, who by the way suffers from a life-threatening disease, to spend Christmas day alone. Except for a half brother, I am the only family she has. I don't know how it is done in your family, but most of mine usually like to spend that day with family. Thanks anyway for the concern you show.
This should be posted on the Faith board nm

I agree... but that's where faith kicks in
My biggest fear in the world is losing someone I love... and sometimes it hits me that something could happen to me in a split second... accidents happen all the time... but I can't live my life like that I wouldn't be living right!
I frequent the faith board
and I just want to say I agree with you 100%. This woman was irresponsible and is a perfect example of what's wrong with this country. ME, ME, ME it's all about ME. No matter that her poor old parents can't even enjoy a retirement because they have once again been forced into parenthood, but now she wants other people to take from the mouths of truly needy children (and animals!) and give to her brood.

Unfortunately, in saying all this, it is true that the children are innocent and will need to be cared for. I have never had children, so I won't pretend to know how this should be done, but obviously this woman has some psychological issues that need to be dealt with.

And kudos to you for starting an animal rescue! I would love to do that one day, but for now I just give strays a home until I can find them a forever home!
Right now the Fugees/Lauren Hill :)
I love her version of Killing me Softly. If you haven't heard it, check it out. :)

Oh I love Lauren Hill!
First tune I heard of her's, Everything is Everything, it brought out the soul sista in me!  Her voice is awesome!
Nothing, live at the top of a reallly big hill
and the kids don’t climb this hill. I am glad because then I don’t have to run every 5 minutes or so to the door. Have done my share in the past.
I can just picture that hill in my mind. LOL! I think
I am going to try that this year.  Great idea.
Another good faith based one is Thin Within
you can Google Thin Within on the web also. It focuses on how you feel about yourself. After going through it for the first time I was able to separate ME and how I felt about ME from how I felt about the extra pounds I carry.

I have avoided Weigh Down because I have some issues with some beliefs and practices of the founders, but I have heard it is a well designed and good program.
Ted Kennedy back on Capitol Hill
returning to work 6 months after his brain cancer diagnosis. He looks and sounds great.  Good to see him back. He has his wife and dogs with him too.
No problem cashing out. We're "over the hill"

All we have to do is pay taxes on what we take out. We did find a car we would love to own but it's $6000 for a 2003 with less than 100,000 miles on the engine. We probably can't get a car loan but they want $1600 down which would be no problem right now, but we have no idea when he would be going back to work,  if he does, depending on highway construction jobs.

We're kinda in a darn if we don't and darned if we do situation. I don't want to take any money from my IRA but there''s not much left after the fiasco that happened. I lost mucho dollars as did he. We will never be able to retire on what's left now.

We're at the age now where we don't pay penalties on any distribution of our IRA so it wouldn't hurt us that bad. We would also pay the taxes on the 20%  distribution necessary.

Has anyone tried hose "we can get you a car for less" deals? I thik they are a rip off, but not quite sure. I didn't really get into those sites.

I did the macarena with a stuffed animal sliding down a hill, because I'm NOT crazy!

Global warming - faction, fiction, political, mountain or mole hill

Trying to get a handle on whether people have bought into the global warming thing.

Do you believe it whole-heartedly 100% Gore-ly, or do you believe the scientist who have been studying global warming/cooling.

Also, do you believe a lot of it is politically-oriented.
