I once came home at night to an apartment -
I used to live in, to find the front door was WIDE OPEN. (Thank goodness I didn't have any cats at the time!) I woke up the building mgr. and made him go in there with me. Turns out, while I was at work the complex's UNhandy-man had come to fix a gaping hole that had been in the bathroom ceiling for 6 months (after he'd "fixed" the leak in the upstairs shower pipes that was rotting the ceiling and causing mold to grow. It was right over the shower, so when bathing I'd have to stand right under this giant hole with cold drafts & spiders coming out of it.) Anyway, 6 months later, out of the blue he decides to come back & finish the job, so I got no 24-hour notice, and he not only left the front door wide open, he left the bathroom window wie open so the paint would dry faster. Amazingly, nothing was missing from my apartment. Another time, their gardners (who did nothing but blow leaves from one side of the complex to the other with a noisy leaf-blower) stole a couple bird-feeders I had outside my bedroom window. I'm glad I don't live there anymore!
Just thought this would make everyone happy. Last night on my way home sm
I saw the dang dog lying out in the yard scratching his back on the grass and when i drove by he looked up at me. He's definitely a big lab mix. He looked perfectly fine to me. My husband thinks that I may have just hit him but not run him over. Who knows. It's a miracle. I was very happy to see him last night. But, he's still loose, so........
I'm betting he's from the South
That's something that's very often done in the Deep South.
Local news show is betting on it being...
Lakesha since Sanjaya will get most of the vote, and she wasn't her best last night. I would take either one to go!
Haley
Well, Simon said it all when he said she was trying to wear the least amount of clothes that she could. I guess because she can't sing, she thinks you will vote for her legs. But, my favorite is Blake. He is so cool and so talented!
Haley must have
her own fan club in some corner of the world. I don't know how she keeps making it through. I would much rather have Gina in the competition than Haley. Must be all the perverts voting for her skimpy outfits - put on some clothes!!
Haley
I was sorry to see her go. I agree she was wearing ultra short skirts, but she has the figure for it (wish I did) and if I looked as pretty as she does I would show it off too. She isn't the best singer, but some of the better voices have a flat affect if you ask me. Just completely void of emotion.
I am betting the good MTs make a lot more than you do, with paid holidays, too.

terry fator or Cas Haley
Both are from my area - so either one will be great.
Haley and I think she sang If My Heart Had Wings by Faith Hill. She is okay but -sm-
Sabrina deserved to stay. I don't think Antonella should have made it to the top 24. I think the producers had to know about her background and put her on to give the show more attention (not that it needed any). I agree with the poster from the other day that only two of the winners deserved to win, Carrie and Kelly although I have not purchased anything of Taylors. I have purchased cds by Clay, Kimberly Locke and Josh Gracin and they are all excellent. I even purchased a short cd by Carmen Rasmussen that wasn't too bad. Rubin and Fantasia were not my type of singers. I am sure they have a lot of fans to get where they are but they were not my favorites and I would probably not buy any of their music.
Blake
I think he is the most talented one on the show. There is no one left that can do what he does. To each his own!
Blake.
There is nothing wrong with my hearing. If I were disappointed in the show, I would be sure and not watch it any more!
I like Blake...
But not NEARLY as much as I like Melinda. They are just worlds apart. I was shocked she was booted last night. She had never even been in the bottom 3 all season, but somehow found her way there last night. C'est LA vie!
Yes, I like Blake
and I'm not even a silly girl. We're all entitled to our own opinions, and I have no need to defend mine, though it looks as though I may be in the minority here. Not across America, though. I rarely voted, so I'm not the one who pulled him through.
Don't think for a moment that I'm one of those who liked Sanjaya as well because I didn't!
Blake
You're definitely not alone. He's totally unique and not like anyone they've ever had on AI. I do think that Jordin will win, but I was happy to see Blake in the top 2. I will say I was shocked though. My daughter voted for him for two hours straight, and I'm sure she'll vote again next week.
I like Blake
I think he's good at the type of music he performs and has his own unique style. I liked him right from the start and thought he stood out. I do agree this season is kind of weak and I also think Jordin will win it, but Blake has talent in my opinion.
I agree, Blake was the BEST and
I thought Melinda Doolittle looked mah-vah-lus dah-ling but the song/singing was not up to her best. Loved what she had to say about giving Simon a chance to say something bad. Good to see her speaking up!!
Also am tired of Haley's legs.
And Sanjaya!!!! Thought he was really good, dawg (as Randy would say). He sure played the camera. I do think he has some extra coaching going on. All those young girls (and guys too) will be voting for him as fast as their fingers can fly.
Phil's eyes are googly. But I love him because he is in the Navy and my husband and son are both Navy vets.
I think Haley will be off tonight.
Love Blake
He's the only unique one on the show. I do believe that Jordan will win, though. She's definitely very talented and very marketable. I'd rather not have Blake win. It seems a lot of times the ones who don't win go on to do very well in their own right and they're not "owned" by AI an can do what they want and not what's expected of them.
I love Blake!!
I love the things he does with the songs he does every week, which in my opinion are not good ones-Bee Gees, Bon Jovi, etc.-and makes them fresh, new and exciting. Now I'm not trying to upset any bee gees or bon jovi fans, but that's just my opinion! I just wish they would have the idols sing current hit songs.
LOVE BLAKE, TOO
I think he is so unique, but I do like his style of music and it might not be so popular with some. I think he has what it takes to do the whole thing, sing, make great music videos, provide enjoying concerts, and make great, unique CDs - I would love several CDs of him just doing cover songs. Then go out and do some new stuff. I'm 46 - but do appreciate his style and music. I am hoping that he wins, but even if he doesn't - he's got a career.
No, I don't like Blake - it should've been
I like Melinda, Blake, and Jordan
the others are fine too. At this point all their styles are different. Some copy, some original, some so talented that they will do well whether they win or not. Melinda mellows me, Blake makes me want to dance, Jordan makes me smile.
I think Blake has great voice and
a very unique style all his own. He deserves to still be in the competition.
American Idol...does anyone really like Blake? sm
I would have loved to see the final showdown be between Melinda & Jordin.... but on the other hand Melinda is better off since she is free to get her own recording contract and you know she will. I think she'll end up being as successfull as Kelly & Carrie... if not more.
Blake certainly not a guy I would introduce to my family
very unclean looking kind of guy to me. Don't mind the short stuff but he looks like a good scrubbing is in order. RNT (really no talent) type of guy.
LOL! Blake should have gone a long time ago.
nm
You are probably right, and all the silly girls are voting for Blake...
who by the way is no prize, lol. Raise the bar girls! He's a short little creep. Looks like a young Sean Penn, sort of, with that homely face. lol Can you tell I don't like him at all? lol
I really like Blake, find the girls boring this year...sm
Yes, they both can sing, what is different about that? At least Blake is different. I like his sound and how he is not just some other singer. I personally cannot wait for "So You Think You Can Dance." I really like that show much better.
And Thursday night is safer than Friday night - how?
We used to live in a town that was once in the Guiness Book of World Records for number of churches per capita (which by the way was the worst place I've ever lived - discourteous, Nazi schools, etc.), and they wouldn't let us trick or treat on Sundays. Ridiculous! People can say what they want but celebrating Halloween doesn't make you a devil worshiper! Just my 2 cents!
Buy a home of my own - not a palace, but more of a smallish home on a large piece of land. (nm)

Anyone move from a single family home to mobile home? sm
I own and live in a house in a midwest city in a bad neighborhood (wasn't that bad 11 years ago). I spent the day waiting for the plumber to come and jackhammer the foundation (slab house, no basement) to find a leaky pipe that is flooding my DD's bedroom. Last week, it was the electrician with quotes for costly repairs.
In the meantime, I've really been thinking about selling out and moving into a mobile home. Has anyone done this before? Is a mobile home in a decent park less of a hassle than a regular house? I'm so tired of cutting the grass and spending $$ to fix things and tired of old flooring and cabinets, etc., that are just too costly to replace. I'm single with no man to do these things for me and I can't afford a mortgage on a newer house in a good neighborhood. Some of the pictures I've seen of the mobile homes look really nice and modern on the inside.
Any advice and comments appreciated. Thanks!
Well I figure I can make my own hours & be home when the kids are home (sm)
I worked PT in an office for a while but spent most of my money on childcare in the summer. Full-time in an office was just a nightmare and I felt like I missed a whole year of my children's lives. I want to be in control of my schedule so that's why I'm looking into the cleaning thing. Never thought I would want to do that but live and learn! Some of the most intelligent people alive work as carpenters and similar things because they have learned what's really important in life. Whew....off my soapbox now :-) Good luck to you!
Daniel had a home, a very good home...
with someone in my family at one point.
She met her late husband at a club down the freeway from me. It's not a fancy place, like you say.
She does have a real brother though. That was the connection on our part.
I agree, though. It is sad that all this is coming out the way it is. I believe she was a good person...she just had a lot of problems, mainly drugs. What is really sad is that all of this is going to be seen by her daughter one day when she grows up.
I had the same thing the night before...last night though (sm)
made teriyaki chicken and macaroni and cheese from a box. Tonight is chicken and rice. Tomorrow night is leftover teriyaki chicken :-)
Home Alone 1, A Christmas Story, Home for the Holidays, Chevy Chase's Christmas, sm
There "The Gift of the Magi," He sells his gold watch to buy her a comb for her hair and she sells her beautiful long hair to buy him a chain for his gold watch. It used to be on "Short Stories by O'Henry" but that's long gone, long ago. Good moral to the story. I can't stand "It's a Wonderful Life" -- too depressing, especially with banks closing, too intimidating right now!!!
Home sweet home.

Home, Home, On The Range SM
where the beer and the cantaloupe play . . . where seldom is heard . . . .
What happens at home stays at home. (nm)
:op
She is home, by that I mean she is 1 mile from her home.
I am the one that moved away. My brother lives there, but she requires 24-hour nursing care right now, and he is unable to provide that for her. My son is graduating high school this year and I plan to move back to take care of her, but I just can't until then. I did tell the adminstrator that they have 24 hours to figure this out, and then we will bring in the police. I have also threatened to go to the media, and this facility has a very excellent reputation and is run by the Brethren Church, so I would think they might not want bad publicity. It is a pretty small town and this is one of only a couple of care homes in the area.
Yes, I used to take 20 mg at night
and this worked very well for me. I also felt a little out of it for the first week or so, but give it time to work as I didn't notice any changes until about 3-4 weeks after taking it. I'm sure you know this, but don't stop taking it altogether without weaning because I actually ran out of it once for about a week and I had really bad symptoms of withdrawal after the second day.
Hope it works for you! It really did help me a lot, and I got to a point where I didn't need it anymore.
Do you take it all during the day or only at night?
I took that 1/2 a tab this morning and fell asleep on the couch after lunch. Ended up oversleeing for my 2:00 shift. Don't want to do that anymore.
I'm sorry about what happened to you. That would be freaky to have someone jump out in front of your car like that.
I only take it at night. I take it about 35 min. before I go to bed. If I were to take it during the

An Okay night, Me2!
At first when I went to bed I was freakin' out! I did not sleep that well, but them drifted off. I think maybe when Hermie comes home at night (He works at home, but has a job a few evenings second shift) when he check his mail he leaves the front door open. I think that is how they get in! He said he had three in about 5 years!! See my post about Hermie. I'm havin' some unsavory thoughts! HAAAA!
Yes, the party was a smash hit. My precious growled at me when I acted like I ws gonna take her new rope toy. I heard this little ERRRRRR under the table and cracked up. She loves to jump up on my lap about 500 times per visit, but last night those jump-ups were rather limited. She was GUARDING HER TOY! Every time she jumped up I could see her looking to the side with her big eyes watching the toy on the floor!
I will try to enjoy my day. Some days I am not really up for just being alone and doing errands, but today I am. I need to relax. I have had so much pain lately again. I am glad we are email friends and sure wish we could get together sometime. Do you enjoy watching the agility trials and dog shows? I wish I knew of a place when it gets cooler to do to just take a lawn chair and watch these fabulous dogs perform for the crowds! I don't know if I told you before, but I went to Westminster with my niece and friend in 2006! What a thrill! I wrote a song and sang it on CD and took along and gave it to David Frei. I sure wish you could hear it! About a month ago I wrote another song about a dog show, but I really don't want to go to the expense now to find someone to play for me and put it on CD.
Have a great day, and read my Hermie post. You might smile. IT IS ALL TRUE, so help me TYNE!
N/T Fan, what did you think about last night?
Loved it, but poor Christian, feeling so left out. But still up to his old ways. I didn't like what he did at the end.
Linda
We did that last night
We had pancakes and bacon.
When I was a kid we did that every Wed. night
That was our FAVORITE dinner! Scrambled eggs, bacon and toast! I still do that now, though not as often. I get hungry just thinking about bacon.
COF night
We do a COF night - clean out the fridge - where we just warm up all the leftover from the meals during the week. Usually was something leftover from every meal or frozen in containers to just microwave as all it takes is adding a bit to the weekly meals. Everyone seems to like it and finds plenty - just get out some applesauce or fruit to add and we are good. Sometimes throw in a batch of cornmeal muffins.
We have it almost every night unless
We've been married for 16 years. I don't know what the average is, but I guess you have to really want it.
AI last night
I was very happy with last night's outcome. I love Adam and I think Allison is amazing for being so young. Not too sure about Chris. I really don't like the way they're doing the voting at all this year, though because I thought there were more than 3 that should have gone through this round and last round. It will be interesting to see who their wild card picks are going to be. Did you know that Clay was a wild card and he ended up coming in second and being pretty successful.
Well, how did you like last night?
I think the final 13 are about the best I have seen in several years now. Started off with a bang. I loved Danny, Lil and dog it, cannot think of the other's names yet. The group really is hot. I am glad to see it back as a contest of singing, hopefully not a contest of who is the most popular. This is a good group to choose from.
AI last night
I thought most of them did an awesome job. I did miss a few, but my favorites so far are Adam, Danny, Matt, Lil Rounds and Alexis, although I do think the judges were right last night and she was a little too over the top. Now what do you think about what they said last night about the big change? I was a little worried at first, but then on The View, Elizabeth was thinking that maybe it has something to do with the way the votes are done this year. She thinks that maybe the judges will have a say this year and not just the voters. If that's the case, I may like it. That way if America votes off someone and the judges think they were wrong, they can keep them. Not sure if this is what it is or not, but it made sense -- don't make it a popularity contest, but a real competition. She likened it to Sanjaya where he basically stayed because he was so popular.
