I swear I am going to have heart failure sm

if one more person walks into my office and scares the bejesus out of me. I'm so intent on concentrating on this doc and they walk in and say "hey mom" and I just totally jump out of my chair. They they say, "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." My hubby has a bad habit of doing that when I am reading, too. I read every night for about an hour at bedtime with the nightstand light on. I'm totally involved in the book and I can't see him when he comes through the door because of the light and all of a sudden, he just appears like a ghost and I nearly fall out of bed because of fright. Of course he says, "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you."   GRRR.

liver, kidney and heart failure...
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003104.htm
Time for a long, uninterrupted heart to heart. Sorry to hear
s
you are NOT a failure
The marriage may be, but not you. It broke my heart to see that. Your life will get better. Getting hit is something no one should accept and it sounds like you are suffering in so many other ways. Move on.
My experience with kidney failure

Several years ago we lost a white shepherd to kidney failure.  She was only 4.  She spent about a week on IV fluids and seemed to come around some but was still weak when we brought her home.  As soon as she starting eating again, even the special Eukanuba kidney diet, she went into failure again.  We had to take her back in 2 days to have her put down.  I was an absolutely hearbreaking experience to see her suffer.  I feel for all of the owners dealing with it now.

The cause of her kidney failure was never really determined.  The first question the vet asked me though was what kind of food I used.  I had 2 other dogs at the time and they were fine, so probably wasn't the food.  He did come to the conclusion that it was a "high tech rat poison" because they had another German Shepherd with the same problem.  It was a police dog and had been intentionally poisoned.  That dog made it through though.

My thoughts are with you and your kitty.

ANY relationship based on lies is doomed to failure

Can't have wait time if you have a child in shunt failure
My daughter has shunted hydrocephalus. She's gone from a normal-acting child with no symptoms whatsoever, to having seizures, lethargy, and respirations of 9 with no warning whatsoever. She needed a medflight (because we were out of town on the way to the zoo), immediate CT scan and immediate surgery. I am terrified of universal healthcare and the wait times it would bring.
Oh God no, you are not being a baby or a failure, and no woman should forget about being assaulted..
by her own spouse. Remember the marriage vows, to love and to cherish? You cannot fully love someone if you do not respect them as a person, and you cannot respect someone you strike and assault, no woman should tolerate violence of any kind, even once. You yourself say that there were many other issues, and I truly feel that a new life with a new start is a wonderful and necessary thing for you. I have been married almost 29 years, I cannot even tolerate verbal abuse and my husband knows it, mutual respect has to come first in any relationship. God bless you, keep praying for wisdom and strength, and see this as a learning and strengthening experience.
A time of 5 years should not have caused kidney failure.
This is too short a time.
Did she have heart problems also?
I know people who drag along for 30 years until they finally succumb to organ failure.
Hydrationis what is needed here. Kidney failure is being prevented.
Cost is high but well worth it. One can also get IV drip with lactated ringers and do it yourself. Fluid is seeped into area between shoulder blades to be absorbed by puppy's body. One of mine needed a blood transfusion, both needed IV antibiotics. Five days in house is typical.
I lost a male cat to renal failure that started out -(sm)-
as a blocked urinary tract. First his behavior changed, but it was just slight, so I barely noticed. He also began drinking more water, and going to his litter box frequently, but just peeing a little at a time. Then I had to leave town and my petsitter called the next day and said he was sleeping in his litter box. I was too dumb to know what that meant, and told her it was probably the heat spell we were having at the time, and to leave a fan on for him. Next morning she called from the emergeny vet's office. She had come and found him collapsed unconscious (probably from unimaginable pain) on the floor. They got him in the nick of time. He was completely blocked and would have died within the hour. As it was, although he seemed fine for the next month, the toxins from the backed-up urinary tract destroyed his kidneys, and he had to be put down at only age 4.

Male cats are more prone to urninary crystals and blockage than females, and Persians are especially prone to this, because they have teeny tiny little ureters. If your cat is long-haired, could he have Persian in him?

Regardless, I feel responsible for losing my cat because I didn't know about the symptoms. It sounds like he's trying to tell you something, so a vet checkup and maybe some blood or urine tests. Better safe than sorry. Oh, and one more thing: DON'T ever let a vet prescribe the pain killer/anti-inflammatory drug, Metacam (meloxicam) for a cat. (Especially the off-label use of the liquid version, which is for dogs only.) It can cause renal failure in cats. My current cat was given just one 0.5 mL oral dose of Metacam in the vet's office, and became violently ill for 2 days. Thank goodness I didn't give her what she was sent home on! THEN I looked it up online and OMG -- there are hundreds of people out there who have lost cats to Metacam.
Friend in kidney failure, on dialysis now, said she could not understand "them" (ESLs)
I got a call last night from a friend who goes back over 40 years. She was in the hospital in kidney failure on dialysis. I was shocked. I knew she had diabetes and high blood pressure but had spoken with her the other day and she mentioned no problems then. I asked her had she been taken her medications like she should have and she said well, maybe not really like I should have and then she told me she really could not understand her physicians, they were foreign and she did not know maybe just how bad off she really was. I am furious. I wish I had known the whole story. I asked "why did you not change doctors?" and her reply was, oh, I just didn’t. She is calm, submissive and I am the opposite, in your face and give me some answers. I have smoke blowing from my ears!  This is an older woman in her 60s who now waits for a kidney who is not on the top of the list because of her other ailments. She does not know the process of getting a kidney but I know what the outlook is for her. How many more people do you think are out there who might not get the kind of medical help they need because of them not being able to understand these foreign doctors? Furious for me is an understatement.
I swear...
There must be something addictive they put in strawberry Twizzlers. Love, love, love them! I can't go more than a few days without having to have a bag next to me while working. Now I have my 18-year-old and 3-year-old sons addicted as well, but I guess it could be something worse. I also heard it helps regulate the bowel habits, too, but have not really noticed any difference. Gotta go, need to stock up some more!
Don't Do IT!! Are we related? I swear
my husband and I have the same situation - except his sister is in her 40s. If they are living with him, they can take care of him. Otherwise...if they are not able to care for him, what example are they going to be for your child? What environment for you all to live in? The father made his choice, and now, sadly, he can live with it.
Actually, I did ask that...plus a swear word or two.

I can have such a potty mouth sometimes...I swear, sometimes I sound like a sailor!

Anyway, back on subject here...I did ask my brother and sister in law about that and they told me she had been on the pill since she was 13!!  Again, rendered me just about speechless except for the F bomb, which was all I could really manage.  No apparent worries of STDs or just plain 'ol self-esteem and self-respect.

They (the parents) completely lost my respect years ago.  At least the youngest out of the 3 has a chance.  She sees how messed up the whole situation is and knows the key to success isn't what's in her pants.  She's just staying low, staying on the honor roll, and has her sites set on pre-Vet, which is oh so totally too cool for school.  She's the only one of the 3 that ever liked hanging out with me, so I take that as a HUGE compliment....either that or she really is "not right."

when you go to court in the USA, you swear on..sm
In every court in the USA, one swears on a bible, probably the New Testament (I know it's not the Old Testament), and no matter who you are, you have to swear on the Bible (in a trial case).  I would swear on it - it's a book about God, no matter if it's the old one or the new one, and as a result it still holds up as a respectable Bible to me for swearing to God.....I revere all books such as this, for everyone's religious beliefs.
I swear he thinks he's a dog
He's constantly into everything, and is more curious than a cat! I plan on doing eventing with him, but I want to let him get nice and big before I start riding him! He's going to visit the vet as soon as it cools off a bit more though, he's started thinking with the wrong brain if you know what I mean!

I let him out into the front yard to eat grass a lot because we don't have a lot in the pasture and I think he gets tired of his round bale. Well a couple of weeks ago I had my truck loaded up with some rubbermaid boxes of stuff I was taking to the church and I came out the next morning and the lid was off of everyone and he had dug through EVERYTHING!

I love him though, he's my kid! I can't wait til I can get my other boy in with him, but he's still at my moms until we move somewhere with more land. This is a picture of him with my mom. I call him Danny Boy. He's a 17.2 hand warmblood. (My mom is 5Ǝ so you can see how big he is!)

She's cute, I swear!
x
That is too funny! I swear, where do they come up this stuff?!?!?
x
Have you been on Dr. Phil? I swear I saw this on his show.
Stand up for yourself. Stop caterting to this man. Give him a dose of his own medicine. Do for only you and your children, and I mean, cooking, cleaning, etc. And if your family likes him, so what, they dont have to live with him.
No, but I swear my sister hates me sm
since I refused to loan her $3000.00 two years ago to get her and her family out of a "temporary" bind. She hasn't spoken to me or emailed me since.  I call her and she doesn't call back. I email her and no reply. We spoke all the time before that. Guess she didn't like the fact that my son's college tuition bill was more important.  For some odd reason, she thinks we are loaded since we haven't filed bankruptcy yet and all my other siblings did.
Never ever ate that, swear on my furkids lives
Now I love beef but hardly eat that now- hubby wants us to cut back on that and the pork but that does not mean I do not love. I probably would throw up if someone served me liver of any kind. I was raised in Tenn but live in Georgia now and no I have never. I have seen liver in the grocery but as far as the other organs, just do not see them here (in town over 4 million) so have shopped in big stores. We have an international market and the next time I am there will check and see if they carry these items.
Well, yes only Christians because you have to swear on the Bible. How can you sm
swear on something that you don't even believe in?

Besides, the latest polls show that 80+% of Americans believe that they are Christians. That's a huge majority.

Also, if they were not Christians and were running, I would certainly like to know their personal values and what their value system is based on if it isn't the Bible. Again, they swear in on the Bible, that's not just opinion.
i swear sometimes i wonder how people have NO manners
it's really weird to me you know... just the common courtesy of some people is GONE, or never there in the first place.
Also what happened to please and thank you ?!!
I swear by my computer gloves.
Foam strips along the bottom do the trick. I'm just symptomatic on one side, so I've sometimes worn both gloves on that side, one inside-out, in order to keep me from hyperextending as well as hyperflexing.

I'll never be without these for work, ever.

btw, f you're kind of in between sizes, order the smaller size, as they do tend to stretch out over time.

Folks who I talk with swear by Sporteze...

Minimal Bounce Bra.  These are kinda active chicks though who ride horses and stuff, so they need the milkers to not hit them in the face when doing the crazy things that they do on the backs of horses.  They appear to come in front zip and pull-over styles.  I'll put the link below to one of the places I know that sells them.

For sore neck & shoulders I swear by - sm
Flexall Extra-Strength. (Used to be 'Flexall 454'). Has a menthol/linament kind of smell (which I like), but who cares - it works like a charm for me on those tight, stressed-out muscles. Not only when working, but when going to bed at night, too. Cat hates it, but too bad. I LOVE it.

Also helpful was buying an adjustable, keyboard try that attaches under the desk. By typing with the keyboard basically in my lap, it opens the angles of my elbows (pain in those is from bone spurs, when elbow is flexed to 90 degrees or more). Also, having the keyboard low, with very nice soft, cushy wrist-rest, takes the load off my shoulders from trying to hold my hands higher.

I change chair height frequently during the day, also get up and move around. I make sure to get out and exercise (jog, walk, bike, skate, go to gym, etc.) once a day, too. Got a chair that is adjustable 5 ways: seat tilt, seat height, back height, back tilt, and lumbar support. Keeping the room warm helps, too. When thumb & wrist arthritis flares up, I take aspirin & wear typing gloves to keep hands warm.

Last, but not least, I keep knee chondromalacia at bay with Osteo Bi-Flex (glucosamine & chondroitin) daily.
Do you or did you cuss/swear in front of your children?

I was at Walmart the other day and this mother and her teen age son walked by me I could hear her say "well I ain't taking no more S$$T off them the A$$H##&s !How can people talk like that with their children!

AWFUL!

i swear i've already shoveled a ton of snow
let's see, 20 pounds (at least) a scoop, x 100 scoops = 2000 pounds... HATE IT!!
I swear, I should be working. But, I just got done combing through the new Sam's Club Christmas s

catalog. You would not believe the kind of stuff they have in there now! I was impressed, shocked, thrilled, all at the same time. Now they have "packages" that members could buy and here were your 3 choices. You tell me which you'd choose, okay? Remember, this is just for fun because obviously none of us are millionaires (or at least I don't think we are :)

1.  The Tony Bennett package which includes: Round trip tickets for 4 to London, VIP passes, meet Tony, autographs, 5 star hotel, gold VIP seats, food. Price: 44,000.

2. The Super Bowl package: Round trip tickets for 4 to Miami, tickets to the game, party with Dan Marino, 4 signed autographed jerseys, limo rides, 750.00 per person for spending money, 8:00 tee time at NFL golf game with an NFL player (OMG, how many husbands would be in awe of this??), 5-star hotel, amazing seats to the game, PLUS - 57 inch plasma t.v., surround sound for your home, camcorder, digital camera. Price: 77,000

3.  The New Cessna Mustang (BEAUTIFUL), personal jet: Price: 2,400,000 (or something like that). To the person purchasing this: You must wire transfer 275,000 upon agreeing to buy it. This is MY choice, especially since I have a son who lives 4 states away.......

But, how much does a personal pilot cost? How much does it cost to "store" your plane?

Ahh, the lifestyle of the rich...How nice would it be to get your hubby the NFL package for Christmas???? It just doesn't compare to a tie, does it? Sigh..................

Well then I guess there are a whole lot of misguided people out there who swear by the smothering! n
x
Oh, my dog is Michael Jordan. I swear she's part deer!

We just moved to the country, but when we lived in town, she jumped the fence I don't know how many times.  When she wants in the house, it's not enough to simply scratch on the door, she has to jump six feet in the air and basically throw herself into the door.

I just get so frustrated.  I was at friends house who has a golden retriever and they have a little bell hanging from their back doorknob and when their dog wants out, he simple rings the bell and same thing on the outside of the door too.  I was incredulous.  How did they get their dog to do that?!?!?!

I swear by Gold Bond Hand Cream. or Bag Balm. sm
I keep a tube of the Gold Bond right next to my keyboard. I am ALWAYS putting it on. It has a really light smell. I use Bag Balm at night with a pair of cheap cotton gloves I got at our local mission store. I also use Bag Balm on my heels aned feet both winter and summer as they are so dry they will crack and bleed. I have also heard of something called "Cornhuskers Lotion". I tried it once and it was too thin and runny. Or perhaps the lotion with the fisherman on it. Norwegian something or other.
I think that is entirely up to you. I wish I had followed my heart on that one - sm.
When I was pregnant with my first baby, I worked in a hospital and my co-workers kept telling me don't tell anybody until you know for sure nothing is going to happen and until you start to show. Then everyone said to not buy anything for the baby until you are past 6 months. For the record, I NEVER did start to show, my baby was born at 27 weeks. I bought my baby bed on Friday, and he was born on Sunday. He lived 3 weeks and 6 days. Since his death, I went on to have three more children, and I told the whole world as soon as I knew, and we celebrated from day one. So....please follow your heart.
More so than heart, seems to be
the ribs. I am gonna tell them they have to get to the bottom. Just pain medicine alone not doing it.
My heart goes out to you
and your daughter. Reading your post brought tears to my eyes, as right now my first cat I ever had is suffering from cancer. She is getting so skinny and I know it won't be long before we have to put her down. It makes me cry every time I look at her. She had surgery, but the cancer is already back, so there's nothing else to do for her. That has to be the worst thing about having pets, having to say goodbye. Just keep the memories in your heart and know that you gave her a wonderful life.
Thank you, and my heart wants
to bring in another, but the timing isn't right with me in school and expenses tight after all the vet bills. Besides, Sasha seems to enjoy being the center of attention. I'm thankful we still have her.
my heart goes out to you.
What it means (IMO) is at the least that he has a short fuse, no control of his tongue and not much opinion of himself. Its probably hard for him to hold you or anyone one else in high esteem because he thinks so little of himself. There's no doubt more at play too, but this behavior doesn't mean he hates you. I've been in this similar environment. Learn to love and respect yourself enough that those kind of comments don't devastate you. It takes time and effort. A person of this kind needs to change from the inside out. How long have you been married? I can't help but wonder if there is anything spiritual that you share with him. You can't change him, so concentrate on what you can change (yourself, your means of coping, how you treat your job, relationship etc). It's hard not to be depressed in these situations. I'm sorry he hasn't learned to appreciate you. Stay safe. There are people who care about you! e/m me if you like.
I am so very sorry, my heart is with you.
Sending all kinds of warm fuzzies to you. So sorry this is happening and you have to go through it. Please do one thing. Look in the phone book when he is around BTW for the local domestic violence hotline. It is an 800 number, it is confidential, and you don't even have to give your name. Tell them these stories. They are open 24/7 just to listen. They will make you feel better. Also, please make sure you are safe. Keep a cell phone with you at all times, and your important papers and the childrens' all in one place in case you need them. Do not let him know any of this at all. Also if you don't have your own bank account open one just for you and the children. Dont let him know. Also, please have a safe place to go. The hotline will describe all these things to you. They also will suggest a local center you can go just to talk someone, as often as you would like to go for free. He does not have to know that either. I am not saying this so that you should be secretive. I am saying so that it will not trigger his anger and the circle of control. Like I said, stay safe, call that hotline ASAP and listen to them and the outpatient counselor. I have been through it. You need people to love you and make you feel worthwhile again and soon you will have the strength to see why this is happening and how to stop it. Please call them and let us know here you are okay.
My heart goes out to you . .
and your husband. Best to get professional care as soon as possible. Get to the PCP and then a thorough workup and mental assessment. This could be any number of things - stress, a medical condition, a mental condition. Just the other day I read something that was fascinating. I read about a woman who was having trouble with her husband who was 60. His behavior was getting odd, and strange. After much workup he was diagnosed as having Asperger's, this coming after a full functioning life. I found this quite interesting. Get help and keep us posted. You are in my prayers.
My heart goes out to you.
They give such unconditional love, even those moody cats darn it!  So sorry about Sixer.  :(
My heart goes out to you.
It sure sounds like you are doing the best you can do. This economy right now is the pits, and it makes everything so much harder. Have you checked to see if any medical insurance is available through your state? Here in my state, Washington, we have an insurance program that you can qualify for if you meet income guidelines. I would sure check into that. If you don't keep your health, then you will have a much worse situation than you have now.
My heart really goes out to you...
When my 2nd son was in school, he was misdiagnosed with a learning disability and placed in an inappropriate classroom. I know what you are going through there.

Do you live in the South? The reason I ask is because my kids were all born and raised until early teens in New England. They had wonderful schools and understood ADD (which is what my son has). He was not put into a special classroom, he was just taken out occasionally for extra help. Nobody he was in class with knew where he went or what his "diagnosis" was.

Then my husband was transferred to Florida and what a HUGE difference in schools! The people in Florida, just wanted to label my son and put him in exclusive "special ed" classes only! There is nothing wrong with my son other than he has short term memory problems. But this school system created more problems for him than you can imagine! He was devastated and has really never been the same since that horrible experience.

My 3rd son has ADHD and when we moved to Texas a few years later, he had an even WORSE experience. Not only did they label him, but the teachers openly taunted him in class. He got "written up" for typical childish behavior, nothing out of the ordinary, they just stayed on his back constantly. They treated him like he was retarded.

I wish they could see him now - he is ready to graduate in May at the top of his class. He has completed 4 years of the Air Force junior ROTC and has already been accepted into a very difficult school to get into. I would just love to go back and show them how he turned out - in spite of their labels.

I don't think your school district can prohibit you from accompanying your child to school if you want to. I don't think that's legal, but I would check into it.

Good luck to you and if you just need someone to talk to who has been through the same things, feel free to e-mail me.
My heart goes out to you
I cannot imagine surviving through what you just described. Joel was very lucky to have such loving parents who obviously did everything within their power for him.

~Blessed Be~
home is where your heart is
Home has always been Texas but almost seven years ago I married a wonderful man and my children and I moved away to the Northwest to make a "home" with him. I went home as often as I could to see my ailing grandmother who raised me. As much as I tried I just could never seen to feel at home here but life as it is my beloved grandmother passed away and Texas no longer was the home I longed for I was happy here with my family and this last year I gave birth to a beautiful little boy and ever since I have felt this inexplicable need to take him home, home to my grandmothers house (someone elses home now) and to feed the ducks in the park like she did so many times with me growing up. So this year I am taking my baby ??home?? to plant roses at my grandmothers grave like I did so many times in her yard and bring home some roses from her yard my mother was kind enough to save for me when they sold her home. So that I can plant them in my yard and create a special place to sit with my little one and tell him stories of my childhood and of the special angel he has to watch over him as he grows up. So where is home???? Home for me has always been in my grandmothers embrace and I thank god each day that I was so blessed to know such love and pray that he will guide me in being the same kind of mother to my children and hopefully they feel (or will feel) about me the way I do about her. So this CHRISTMAS tell those dear to you how much you love them. Merry Christmas
I know deep down in my heart that this is wha I WANT to do. But, I'm not sure sm
how difficult it would be to get back into MTing/QAing after a year or so. It took me a long time to get the job I have now (QAing/MTing).

Thanks for your input! Will keep everyone posted. I hate doing QA right now and typing!......ha
Your heart is in the right spot
trying to see after them. I myself carry around food in case I see animals out that I think might need a meal or if a friendly one comes into my yard, I bring out the food still. I would definitely be the same as you trying to fend for them.
Bless your heart

Bless your heart...Fox looks like such a sweetie.  I think the memory garden would be a wonderful idea.   Cat

Aww, bless your heart! I still
love what I do, but have only been doing it for 3 years. I feel totally blessed that I actually got to quit work when my kids were 2 and 3, go to school online and actually get to work from home so I can be where they need me when they need me. I can see why what else you're doing right now, though, is so much better than MTing! Have you ever been to Women of Faith?
What about just giving from the heart?
Why put such a price tag on something so trivial?  Jesus is the reason for the season!
trust your heart
Trust yourself and trust in God, as well as your doctors. They would not want anything bad to happen to your baby. By the way, if you ever have a chance to go see the Body World 3 exhibit you would love the embryo/fetus exhibit. It is absolutely amazing what a 4wk embryo looks like and how he/she develops by 16 weeks into an absolutely perfectly formed baby. I wish you the best of luck. Please keep us updated on your progress.
My heart goes out to you Hayseed - sm
I know you loved him, and I am sure he loved you too. I am thankful your paths crossed before his journey over Rainbow Bridge. I know without a doubt in my mind that you made a difference in his life. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Buck's "family" who have heavy hearts tonight.
