I did the macarena with a stuffed animal sliding down a hill, because I'm NOT crazy!

floor option
I have terra cotta-ish tile in my kitchen and love it. You can buy the grout already matching and it's so easy to clean. Also, if you live where there's any red Georgia mud/clay, it doesn't show up if someone (kids) tracked in the house. Area rugs look pretty on it. Keep in mind that whatever you put down, if there are area rugs, the cat will likely puke on them rather than the flooring! LOL
I'd rather sleep on the floor

“I just can’t look at that ugly floor any more!”
Caption it !! See image below.
No, why did she put a pot down on the floor/carpet? - nm
xxxx
Just put everything up about 3 feet from floor.
Move all plants up to counters and maybe a gate for the kitchen so you don't have to worry about babe getting into cupboards. Also for any stairs. They have those socket covers that are very cheap and I would put them in outlets and always make sure the toilet seat is down. Other than that, enjoy.
sleeping
You are so wrong for posting that picture......they are sooooooo cute.....all I can do is sit here and cry........That pic should be a Christmas postcard..........I'm crying, but you made my day.....THANK YOU
No sleeping here either.
34* w/a high of around 60* and pt.cloudy.
No plans today. Just hanging around as usual.
Everyone enjoy your day.
Not sleeping
Sometimes your hormones will prevent you from sleeping. The night before my little friend comes every month, I have trouble sleeping.
chair
Ace Hardware and Walmart sells this stuff called Shoe Goo that works great on everything like this. It's a silicone in a tube, but is very sticky and lasts forever. I have used it on stuff in my house and even my car.
does your chair
put too much pressure under the knee using the foot pedal? if so, you might try doing like i do, and have foot pedal raised up on a little platform (build from wood/use books/boxes, anything for the height). Sometimes i feel too much pressure on the heel as well, and have used a beaded wrist rest under my heel.
Need the input on floor coverings
I had installed tile which I really love throughout my kitchen and the hallway which runs off the kitchen. I now have decided to tile my living room and great room plus 1 hallway. The living room and great room run off this previous tile I had installed. I love the color and would like to have the same there but hubby thinks we should have another color. I am totally undecided. Has anyone tiled and put in 2 different colors next to each other, how do you like and give me some thoughts from others. Thanks
Lumber Liquidators for the floor
Mazel Tov - Hebrew for Good luck, Congrats, et al.....not a lot of people know Hebrew but I, for one, understood the words of the other poster....
Did my floor from Lumber Liquidators as they seemed to have the BEST prices. Once you do the floor, the rest should come easy - you would match the floor to your furniture for blending purposes (in your head) and I found the rest fairly easy once I painted the rooms.....Have fun if nothing else!!
Yes. When I worked on the floor as an aide
It seemed a lot of the RNs thought they were the most elite part of the hospital/society and treated everyone that way. What I despised most though is that they would do their patient assessments, charting, then sit around the nurses station and gossip while we did the majority of the work and they would try to shove as much as their job on us as they could, even things we were not qualified to do. They also were the most unprofessional people. They were the ones that tended to make fun of a patients ailments, body habitus, lack of education etc., than any other personnel in that hospital.
There were some good RNs though that knew their place but it seemed that they were few and far between. The real good RNs did not stay long at that little rinky-dink county hospital, they were just there to get their experience and go to bigger and better places. Glad that is ancient history for me now as far as dealing.
My 11yr old cat has taken to sleeping
on my bed during the day exactly where I sleep. He often gets in bed with us at night, something he has never done. He also wants to be more sociable and wants to be petted a lot. Is this odd behavior? I'm thinking maybe he know something that I don't. He seems healthy enough, the last vet visit he had a very good check-up. Should I be worried?
Maybe the baby was sleeping.
I know mine all had lower heart rates in the 1-teens when they were sleeping when we did ultrasounds and listened to their heart beats. When they were awake it ranged from 130s-160s. I hope yours is okay.
So if I get a smaller chair...LOL
nm
My little one is laying on the arm of the chair
with his head hanging over the side. Every now and then he jerks his head back up when he starts to fall off! He's mad because I wouldn't let him lay on the nice warm laptop.
Nope, that's her chair only.
Wonder where the snowmen came from? Must have been a chain store that sold them. This one was in central Indiana...
Repairing chair
I saw this stuff at a car show that does the same thing as Mighty Putty, but it is a thinner liquidy type stuff and it worked really well. I saw it at Hot August Nights this past year in Reno. It worked really fast and is "sandable" - I watched the man work with it and it dries almost instantly and I wish I remembered the name. Maybe if you go to some car restoration websites you will see it. I think I remember that it was acrylic based and that you can add fibers to it if you wish. If my chair died I would cry, so I hope you are able to fix it. It does look fixable to me. Good luck.
Rigged chair
Thanks for asking, meant to give an update, but forgot. Nice older man made the repair for me, owe him my life, or at least the life of my back. Love love this chair, out of it for 5 days, and oh the love I have for this chair, forgot how much I love this chair.
Called Herman Miller and they sent me to a chair repair place on the phone who said they would replace the seat of my chair for $250, which I was willing to pay, but thought I would try this fix first, still may get it in the future, but hey, may not be pretty, but it sure as he@ll works. Man friend said about the putty, you mean that Super BullS@it putty, so no I didn't try it.
Am considering installing a Pebble Tech floor.
I wonder if Pebble Tech is the right choice. One adult, four animals, 1400 sq. foot. What I am concerned about is being able to keep it clean and how comfortable they are to walk on with bare feet. Cost is fairly reasonable when compared to tile and the look I like (the beach!).
Anyone have experience with this type of flooring? Will it make my home look like a business rather than a home? Is keeping it clean a hassle?
Thank you much!
Need opinion on hardwood floor vs linoleum
We hope to put new flooring down in the house soon. I really like the look of linoleum in the kitchen. We are having a hard time deciding on a carpet color. A light neutral color or maybe a lighter green would be nice but any lighter color will show everything I'm sure. We have a really dark burgundy carpet now. Although I don't really care for the color it is now, it has really held up to stains since it is so dark. We thought of putting hardwood floors down but not sure if we want to put it in the kitchen too. I'm thinking it would probably look better to carry the hardwood floor throughout the house--including the kitchen--but I really would rather have linoleum there. How would the hardwood floor (probably the medium color--not the real light or the real dark) look next to a kitchen with linoleum? Would that be tacky?
Thanks for the opinions. I really can't decide. We know we will be looking at it a really long time so we want to be satisfied with our decision.
Me, too! Socks for sleeping have to be white! :) nm

why do "socks for sleeping have to be white*??
college kids sleeping together
I have an 18 and 21 year old (both girls) that go to college. Both of them have boyfriends out of State. So they come to visit and these boys sleep in another room because my daughters know I would not care to have them sleep in the same beds in my home. I told them I am not running a hotel. I always tell them there is a diference between a college dorm and our home. What happens at college I don't see. Last night I asked the 18 year old when you go to your boyfriend's house who is 20where do you sleep. (I never met the parents. She said the stepmom said she would not have a problem sharing the same bed in her home but knows that her stepson does not share one in our home so she wants to respect our wishes. I know when my daugther went off to college she was never sexually active and had morals. This woman is 38 and I am 52. There is also a 10 year old boy that lives in that same house. My daugter told me they are more like hippies compared to us. Am I being a prude or does anyone feel the same way I do.
I would stop sleeping in the same bed/room as him
Tell him that you can't stand the stench because it can't be good. Not taking care of/repairing your teeth is as bad as not taking a shower/practicing basic good hygeine. It's pretty gross.
Let sleeping dogs lie... leave him
Just leave him, if he doesn't love you he can still love your kids long distance. I wouldn't have let him come back the first time. You need to think about yourself and your children, let sleeping dogs lie.
My bad! My little girl says its Sleeping Beauty
not Snow White! I stand corrected! I'm not a princess expert by any means!
Sleeping too late in the morning.
..
Try sleeping with a wrist split first.
It might just do the trick and it's cheaper than paying a doctor.
Sleeping woman uses the internet

Well, maybe they are terrified of the potty chair because we
missed the window of opportunity to teach them when they are younger. Here's just one of many articles on the topic:
http://www.pottytrainingconcepts.com/Potty-Training/Article-Cleveland-Plain-Dealer.htm
And a Google search with words like "disposable diapers" "American" "late potty training" will turn up lots more information along this vein.
People seem to think that training children early is cruel. But there are gentle techniques for teaching continence, and we need only be in tune with the signals children give. The later age of toilet training indisputably correlates to the introduction and widespread use of disposables in this country. Did you know that Dr. T. Berry Brazelton signed on as a spokesman with Proctor and Gamble back in the 1960's? He was paid a lot of money to promote disposables.
Disposables are a big business in this country. Advertising and time have erased the memory of a time when most American children were trained by age 2. It can be done. It takes a little patience, knowledge of gentle techniques, and lots of praise. Children do tell you when they are ready to train, but these days people don't know the the nonverbal cues that children give us. Instead, we wait for children to stand up, walk over and say, "I'm quite finished with using diapers from this point forward."
The tide is slowly turning again, however. Perhaps your grandchildren will be toilet trained at 18 months as more and more people discover that it's far easier to train a younger child than it is an older one. The older child has basically unlearned an unconscious thing. Most people will accept that it's easier to learn a new language when we're younger rather than older. It's exactly the same for toileting.
How about beach-chair position?
Doncha know the patient wishes they were really in a chair on the beach instead of in the operating room.
Looks like you guys need a bigger chair!
Boy, have they settled right in or what?! That is absolutely wonderful! You guys must be so happy!
Romey's Chair Glue
I found the name of the glue I saw at the car show. It glue everything. It is called Rescue Industrial Bond Adhesive and they have a website at:
www.RescueGlue.com
The site is having some problems. I tried to email you the phone #, but it wouldn't go through. Email me if you want it. Hope your chair is already fixed though.
Romey, did you ever find a fix for your chair?
This is how much of a freak I am....it has been driving nuts that 1.) a chair of that caliber would break like that, and 2.) Wondering what, if anything, you found to fix it. I would be having a you-know-what fit. Those suckers aren't cheap! Did you ever try that super puddy stuff folks were talking about?
Romey, what kind of chair do you have? I need a new one. nm

No spasms. The levator ani muscle and the pelvic floor
muscles have separated. The pelvic floor muscles don't cause a lot of problems. Unfortunately, with the levator ani separating, I have some fecal incontinence. Not a lot, but enough to be really aggravating at times. This doesn't even happen every day. It's just kind of random and I never know when it's going to happen.
Can anyone that has an older vinyl floor that is dull tell me how to get it to shine a little but
not make it slippery with wax. Thanks much.

Herman Miller Aeron Chair
Thanks Annie M, maybe I will never need a new seat. My brother was a welder, if he were alive, he would have fixed it for me. Great load has been lifted, please chair, never die on me again.
Swiffer Wet jet leave your floor feeling kind of gunky? (sm)
I know it says you don't have to rinse, but I feel like there is something, not sticky necessarily, but just something still on the floors. Am I using too much solution as I mop?
Is the problem indoor accidents, or sleeping at night ?
Didn't give any details.
