I have heard the saying that girls marry men who are most like their fathers (not everyone of course), but in this case it is so true. My husband is so like my dad in a lot of ways. Right now I don't want true love. I've fallen out of love and it would take a miracle for me to fall in love with him. He would have to love me for who I am, love my family like he loves his own (which he really doesn't have any interest in anyway), watch a "chick-flick" with me and laugh because it's funny and not make any nasty comments, don't scowl every time a commercial comes on for jewelry because I never asked him for anything. He would have to get a job and contribute, find a place to settle in and not talk about moving again only within 2 weeks after moving, stop talking negative about everything happening. Well it would take much more for me to fall in love with him again. It's hard to forgive someone for emotionally treating you like crap for 25 years. Right now I'm not looking for true love, I'm just looking for peace of mind.
On another note I do have a place in my mind that I created and visit often. It's a nice little log cabin with a fireplace and its in the woods and I have lots of wildlife and some bunnies and squirrels and cats that come to visit me and I feed them and I feel most peaceful when I am there. So life is not all that bad.
