Anybody have any good pork loin roast recipes?
I am never able to cook pork roasts without it being tough.
Grill
We make a prime rib every year for christmas and we always cook ours on the grill? I don't know if you have one or use one, but that's how we cook ours.
Steaks on indoor grill
like a George Foreman are not the best. Maybe because the pressure from the closed grill makes all the juices run out, I'm not sure. I was determined to learn how to make a great steak indoors and I tried everything including the indoor grill. Did some research and I found most sources suggested cooking on the stove in a thick bottomed nonstick pan (I use Calphalon)with no oil, no butter, just start with a very hot pan. Wow, were they right. It somehow keeps all the juices in and they sort of blacken almost on the outside and are the best! And you don't even really need much seasoning aside from maybe salt and pepper. My husband can't believe how great they are and swears that must be how the restaurants cook them. Just wanted to share that with you.
to grill steaksand fish is in the
George Foreman griller!
I think the whole idea of the George Foreman grill

therefore the juices are supposed to come out to make it less fatty.  Searing in the pan keeps the juice in but also the fat.  I liked the taste from the George Foreman grill, but I didn't like the clean-up :(

I would prefer just to bake in the oven actually.  Also in regards to marinading meat.  30 minutes is plenty of time.  If you keep it in the marinade longer it tends to make the meat rubbery.  Just a thought...

I lightly grill my fruit kabobs...
Simple combinations like strawberry-kiwi, strawberry-banana or strawberry-pineapple are outstanding grilled desserts. Also, mango is really good with any of these combos. Grill the kabobs over medium hot coals for 6 to 8 minutes, turning a few times. They're great as is, right off the grill, with nothing else added. But I find them best with added sweetness, like a very light sprinkling of a sugar-cinnamon mixture or brush on some white grape juice or a very light sugar or honey syrup. Hope this helps..

I live in condo and go to park to grill out. SM

I use an automatic lighter, but the thing stinks. It's just a cheapie thing, maybe they all are. Are there any better lighters out there? I'm not taking Sharper Image, but just something better you might use to light candles, start a fire or what not?

I'm sure I sound stupid.  I'm not exactly Miss Handyperson.  If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.  Or should I just go to Home Depot and try to find someone (which is the problem with that place) to help.

This has to be the dumbest question asked all day on this board, I know.

Oooooh, I forgot about Spitfire Grill. It WAS great.

Cooked on the grill, loaded with everything but the kitchen sink. LOL. nm

There are risks with EVERYTHING. I only use it occasionally

Thanks...and I drink almost never...I occasionally buy (sm)
wine coolers or something and leave them in the fridge thinking they will last me a couple of months and every time I go to look for one they are all gone (even though he claims not to even like them).
Did anyone ever make small flounder fillets on the grill. I know they need to be done quickly
because they are so small and thin.  How long should they stay on there.  I tried them one time in a pan and they turned to mush.
occasionally blatantly in front of them - usually (sm)
In an underhanded way - he is treating me as "subordinate" in a less obvious way in front of them most of the time. It's hard to explain. But to sum it up, my son told me the other day, "Mommy, I feel like Daddy is always trying to make you think he likes you but I don't think he really does."
Having pain occasionally probably means it's nothing (sm)
to worry about.  It's probably that the "density" of the breast tissue makes it difficult to identify anything out of the ordinary.
Yes, it helps a lot....I can even skip a day occasionally....lol nm

But having your child occasionally cry in public is...
not a crime. My guess is that some children - not mine of course - just have sour personalities. You, of all people, should understand that!
I occasionally have those too - sort of warnings to be careful and such (nm)

Oh please, a few drinks occasionally never hurt anyone, and may even cause some 'fun'
gosh forbid! I think those of you with these totally one-sided bad attitudes about alcohol have just had some very bad experiences with alcoholics. Most responsible adults can have a couple of drinks. Give me a break! We're all grownups here.
I still occasionally search for the cent sign
on the keyboard. I can't figure out why they got rid of it. Does anybody really need the ~ sign for English? Bring back the cent sign. :o>
I didn't say 'cry in public occasionally' - I said
HUGE difference, there.
Pork Roast
I'm not sure of the side dishes yet.
What's with pork? Who might that offend?
I agree with everything you said.  We bow to every whim in an effort NOT to offend people here, except for our own citizens! And christians...but I won't go there.  I'm not particularly fond of *Halloween* decorations, but do like to decorate for fall with hay and scarecrow, pumpkins, and that sort of stuff...
pork roast

Are you browning/searing it before you do any cooking with it?  That sometimes can make a difference - even if you're going to put it in the crockpot or cook it in the oven.  Try searing it in a pan with a little bit of olive oil and then putting it in the oven or crockpot.  This gives it another layer of flavor with the carmelization on the outside, but it also helps keep the juices in.

Pork roast...details below if anyone is interested
I do mine with tomatoes, basil and a clove of frash garlic and just a tad of oliver oil. I wrap that in foil and put it on the grill. I make this with red potatoes (slice partway open and put some butter inside, wrap in foil and grill also). I usually steam some green beans to go along with it, but this is a throw it on and forget about is for 45 minutes. Not great for those thighs but tastes heavenly!
Cracklins and pork skins are 2 different things

Slow Roasted Cuban Pork recipe

Hi,

Quite a few years back, I had a recipe I can no longer find at home or on the internet, which is where I believe I first found it.

It's for Cuban slow roasted pork with mojo sauce. The recipe's instructions called for putting the roast in the oven on very low heat for at least 24 hours. (I've found a similar one on Epicurious, but would prefer to re-find the one I originally used).

Sound familiar? If so, can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks.
