Better climb under a rock,
or have all the posts been there for years? Nothing new. Liz Taylor stole Eddie Fisher from his wife, then had affair with Richard Burton (who was married)- hmmm guess they were way past their prime (also dead) to make to DWTS- this happened in the 60s and Ingrid Bergman (in the 40s) had twins with a guy she was not married to (married to someone else.) Like I said, better just go to a remote island and be alone for it not to happen.
Cats declawed front only can still climb trees and

You have lost in your election, please go climb back under your rock
My daughter is in finances, owns her own home, goes to college part-time taking extra courses to advance her career. Frankly, my dear, I don’t know what you think but one thing I do know is please leave and go back to the other board- they might like you there. I based MY vote on the man, not the color of his skin but my daughter who is black could not make up her mind. What about that don’t you understand? I told her repubs did not have her back- too many old white folks. Face it, big L for loser.
So, I should have poured bleach on my roof

I had keys to the roof of the bldg....sm
I was given keys to the roof of my building (because I was so chunky I didn't want to do this walking on the street/sidewalks of my complex) and I started by trying to do one entire perimeter of the roof (which is HUGE - like 2 roofs in one, 29 apartments to a floor....HUGE roof (built in the 70s)....
So, I did this everyday until I could do the perimeter of this entire roof 10-15 times - it took 6 weeks to get there *lol*
What I did do was put Tina Turner's cassette into a Walkman (her album called SIMPLY THE BEST) and that, in and of itself, was SO MOTIVATING.
And again, if you saw my other post, I kept counting calories, keeping them to 1000 or under per day. Sort of like a crash diet. *laughs*...I had to do this - because I'm diabetic.....among other diagnoses.
Best of luck!!!
If you have gutters and/or sloped roof,
get a rain barrel installed to catch any rain you do get. That's what I'm thinking of doing. You just want to find out about keeping mosquitoes from breeding in it, but getting one that is covered for that reason or by putting something in the water that is nontoxic to plants, but controls mosquitoes.
Zip. Hub's and bud are reshingling the roof on Monday. nm

no, it was an entire roof (read threads *S*)..sm
power walking......see link here:
http://www.thewalkingsite.com/howtowalk.html
TIPS FOR WALKING FASTER1. Use good posture. Walk tall, look forward, (not at the ground) gazing about 20 feet ahead. Your chin should be level and your head up.
2. Keep your chest raised, and shoulders relaxed (shoulders down, back and relaxed). 3. Bend your arms in slightly less than a 90 degree angle. Cup your hands gently. Swing arms front to back (not side to side - arms should not cross your body.) Do not swing elbows higher than your sternum (breast bone). Swing your arms faster and your feet will follow.
4. Tighten your abs and buttocks.. Flatten your back and tilt your pelvis slightly forward.
5. Pretend you are walking along a straight line. Resist the urge to elongate your steps. To go faster -- take smaller, faster steps.
6. Push off with your toes. Concentrate on landing on your heel, rolling through the step and pushing off with your toes. Use the natural spring of your calf muscles to propel you forward.
7. Breathe naturally. As you walk, take deep, rhythmic breaths, to get the maximum amount of oxygen through your system. Walk fast enough that your breathing is increased yet you are not out of breath.
WALKING DON'TSCommon mistakes made by walkers... 1. Do not over stride
2. Do not use too vigorous arm movements
3. Do not look at the ground
4. Do not hunch your shoulders
5. Do not carry hand weights or place weights on your ankles
What is the difference in power walking, fitness walking, and racewalking?
Fitness walking is called by many different names - power walking, fitness walking, health walking. Power walking is commonly used to represent an exaggerated walking style. This style of overstriding and exaggerated arm movements is often linked with injuries. Because of this I don't generally use the term power walking. A better term for a healthful energetic walking pace is "fitness walking".
Fitness walking is much more than a stroll or nature walk. When fitness walking you incorporate the muscles of the upper body making it a GREAT aerobic activity. It burns approximately the same calories as running, yet it is much easier on the body. Because more muscles are used it burns calories much quicker than less aggressive walking. It also tones muscles in the buttocks, thighs, hips, shoulders, upper back and abs. Most fitness walkers average about 12 to 15 minutes per mile.
Unlike racewalking; there is no official definition. There are no rules. If you walk at a purposeful fitness walking pace using good technique you are a fitness walker. Use tips above to insure good walking form and to increase your pace.
My dad told me that after 18 I was an adult, but as long as I was under his and my mom's roof th
right to impose a few rules since they were paying the bills. (I could keep all the money I made.) If I didn't want to abide by them I could move out or pay them rent, either one, and then I could come and go as I pleased.
Snow?! What snow? LOL I live in south...sm
Mississippi. We rarely have snow so I can't relate, but I think the snow is beautiful though. I tell ya, a couple of years ago my husband and I went to upstate New York during March or April, not sure now which. I froze to death. I seen enough snow to get my fill. It was a bitter cold too. I am not used to that. A cold front had come through so I don't know if it normally snows there that late in the year or not.
Need help with ideas for remodeling house and decorating. We bought a house
in fair condition about 10 years ago, got into some medical problems, and have just now paid off the mortgage. Hubby and I agreed we would do nothing to the house for remodeling because we wanted to pay it off first, then the medical bills. I need to know of some websites/magazines/books to start researching for how to go about this. These will be major repairs - roof, septic, basement, windows, pretty much everything except wiring. Where do we start? Maybe hire a general contractor just to do an evaluation and give us recommendations? Hubby is a handyman but cant seem to get a handle on where to begin. We would like to do as much of the work ourselves as possible - labor of love and all that...
Thanks for any and all kind suggestions!
snow!!!
Hey, I'm in upstate NY too! I am so excited. I have been working from home for almost two years and I swear ever since then there has been no snow!!! When I had to drive 30 minutes to work we got dumped on all the time!!
snow
I live right outside Albany and we have only had an inch or so here and there. Looking forward to staying home!
Snow
We have snow here in PA too. Started this morning and hasn't stopped.
They say it will snow until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Schools closed early and some have called off for tomorrow already.
Snow
Mt. Mitchell State Park, just a little NE of Asheville, North Carolina, off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Had snow to my hip first week of May. May start falling early. Call to check.
Snow - still - nm

Snow
I live near Scranton, PA. We have about 4 inches and school is canceled.
Snow, Oh, NO!
Nothing here yet in Upstate NY, but they are calling for 1-3 inches overnight. I'm not looking forward to this at all. My friends all laugh at me, once the snow falls, you'll never catch me outside unless it's absolutely necessary. On the upside, they're saying that for Halloween it's going to be 62. Very strange weather here.
Snow!
Hey yall! There is snow on the ground in South Texas (between Galveston & Houston). I looked outside when starting my shift at 0200 & it is there....will probably all be gone by 10 though.....we almost never get snow here.
Snow...
You can definitely have the snow from WI.....If things continue on the way they have started we will never see green grass! I think it April before all the snow melted from last year!
snow
Wow that is a mess of snow. I am originally from NY/NJ and I really miss the true meaning of a snow advisory.
Snow is melting....sm
Temp up to 55 today. Hope you got in touch with your family! Roads were good the day after. It really wasn't as much of a storm as the media made it sound, as per usual. Good luck!
As far as snow, it's been clear. But
as far as traffic goes in general, good luck. I live only about 45 minutes away and on a Saturday it can take hours to get in, especially bad at the tunnels, and parking is also the pits, can be very expensive, one time it cost me $40 for a few hours. Is there a train or bus you can take? Good luck and have fun!
Who has snow today? sm
Big snowstorm here in Ohio! It's been snowing nonstop since early this morning and isn't going to stop anytime soon. My husband's job even cancelled today! We probably have 4 or 5 inches already.
snow storm
It's headed our way tonight in Upstate NY. We're suppose to get over a foot. Tomorrow it is suppose to be snowing all day long. It'll be one of those days when I REALLY appreciate working from home.
snow in nebraska; sun is out now tho

Some snow in Philly
It's been snowing lightly for hours, but ground is barely covered. Expecting about 5 inches tonight, though. Haven't had any real snow this winter.
well I don't have snow, but apparently from the looks of it-
not much grass. This time of the year it is easy to tell that I have a bumper crop of wild onions and they are a lot higher than the grass that is greening up. I have daffodils, hyacinths and crocus. How long until you see green?
Wow! Big snow last night
Have about 16 inches of snow this morning. Sledding anyone?
I hate snow too
I want to hibernate until the winter is over with. Even my dog hates it. We lived down south for a few years and now back up here. I am ready to go south again. I am actually getting nauseated over it. My plans are to go back.
snow music...sm
Enjoy! Cat

At least someone here is enjoying snow
Jake thinks it's a real hoot! I would too if I didn't have to scoop it all, reminds me to make my New Year's resolution AGAIN to get back into shape!!!
No snow here, but here is Bear.
Bear thinks he's found a bunny. It's just a stuffie though.
snow dogs
I once had a little black peke who would walk around with her flat little face in the snow. Your goldie is gorgeous!!
Snow angels!...nm

and the snow plow just went by. I have at least
3 inches on the ground. I guess I am going to have to shovel the driveway. Hope I can find the shovels. Arghhhh
I LOVE THE SNOW!!!
I am in GA also -- outside Atlanta -- and I love it. I'm from VA and I have really missed the snow!!. And it's so beautiful: Big, fluffy flakes!! We have about 3 or 4 inches and it is still snowing pretty hard!!
Don't snow this again option either...or SHOW ;) nm..
.
MINIMAL SNOW IN COLORADO!
We have less than an inch - what a switch, huh? I am in Colorado Springs. We had our fill last month, though. Hope everyone is safe and sound at home, typing away.
No snow today in San Francisco! :D
.
Got 5" here...lots of snow this winter...nm

I'm in South too, last time we had snow was..
last time we had snow was Jan 1977....nm
Definitely snow in Denver tomorrow. sm
If you want to go "out west" try the coast of California. No snow there, but snow in Colorado.
my neighbors waiting for snow outside
with a flashligh in North Carolina!!
Where do you live that it is snow weather?
It's been close to 90 almost all week here in central PA. My DH loves snow and is ready to move north.
It's snowing here - I love snow
Just thought I would share. Anyone else getting snow today? I'm so glad I can sit here at my desk and watch it snow instead of being outside working in it.
I had thunder snow here today as well
in northeast Ohio. Got just enough to cover the grass so the pup could run around in it for the first time :-)
We got snow!!!!!! Yipeee!!! Its falling in big, big
My little kitty is outside chasing the snowflakes and hopping in it like a rabbit. How I am supposed to work with this fun stuff going on outside?
Thank you God for nature's beauty and the critters we love.
Yuck - I can't stand snow
Or winter. I really don't know why I still live in the Northeast. We have a lot of snow (we had a snow day already yesterday). When it's winter I don't leave the house unless it is absolutely, positively necessary.
I like the light powder snow...sm
cause it's easier to shovel than that heavy wet snow....Do you shovel or does someone else do it for you? Cat
