Yep, missed that part. Thanks!
:)
I think you missed part of my post....sm
she does see a psychologist, and has talked with her caseworker as well as both of us foster parents about this (in addition to another prior foster home that had problems with her stealing). I only called the juvenile authorities to see if they had other suggestions of things to get her to stop this behavior before she gets to the point that she steals something and the store calls the police on her.
I missed the part about the picture
Forget it. No way. They probably want a live-in sex slave.
husband had this surgery and I have CTS...sm
If after the surgery you or anyone continues the same behavior, work patterns - the CTS can very well return. Ya just gotta know this ahead of time. My ex is a chef, had the surgery bilaterally when married, but still remained a chef...hence, he now has the return of CTS.
I need the surgery too but surgeon friend of mine said a long, long time ago, don't operate on your hands or feet until you really have to, as they will never be the same.
I had some hand surgery 25 years ago for removal of things inside the hands and truly, my hands have never been the same...so I believe it is true. Until I give up this biz, I won't have carpal tunnel releases.
I also have a friend who is a chiropractor and he believes chiropractic helps CTS....I'd try that and/or acupuncture first before I would have the surgery.
just my 3 cents is all.........
After my husband's shoulder surgery,
the orthopedic surgeon had him on too many different medications. One medication didn't control the pain, but made him out of it, and the MD added a second pain medication, which made him hyper and unable to sleep, so he added Valium AND a sleep medication. If I hadn't been there to intervene, he was going to keep taking Valium until he fell asleep. He was really serious when he told me the MD said it was fine to take as many pills as he needed!
My husband's ex-wife supposedly -sm
used sex as a weapon in the terms of as a reward. He had to jump through hoops to get it and basically grovel to get lucky. She apparently did not like having sex so he got it maybe once a month if he was a good boy. That just is not right, and there are women (and men) who do this... and women who string men along with promises, etc. in order to suck them dry (no pun intended).
Religious difference between husband and wife?
I am Christian and interested in a guy who is Jewish. What are the pros and cons of marrying someone from other religion?
Give me a broader view of problems that can arise in a relationship when your spouse is from other religion in general and Christian/Jewish marriages in particular.
TIA.
My husband and I watched part of it last night.
Very fascinating and horrifying, as you said. The footage they have is just amazing.
Anyone with a printer deskjet know why it prints a page with part of it dark and part of it light.
It is not printing uniformly.
It's not the dancing part, it's the people part that I don't like. K? We clear now?

I keep it in the office part time and on the patio part time
I've got the self-cleaning electric litter box (and boy is it worth the $100), and have a huge throw rug under it with a smaller rug by the litter pan that has a bumpy mat on top of it to catch the excess. I keep it in the office from April to October but on the patio from October to March as it is too hot in FL to leave the patio door open for them during the summer months. I also put out a spare box when we go out of town for the weekend.
Try a box that has deeper sides maybe, or not as much litter in it?
N/T - I missed that one
Do I really want to know? LOL. I was thoroughly grossed out last Saturday when they repeated the "Reefer" episode. That's the worse gore I've seen so far.
thanks--I must have missed the very end of the sm
first episode. Now it makes sense.
I can't believe I missed that! sm
Did that happen this season or last? (Wilbur's bio-dad)
I wonder if they're going to keep up the story line about the child-biter.
sorry, missed that, but use caution just the same
be careful
Sorry, missed this post. Yes, very appropriate. nm
,
Missed my periods.
//
Nope - missed that.
Sorry.
Must have missed that episode. (sm)
Oh wait, just had a thought. Was it that weirdo guy they hired to help out at the funeral home- the one the mother liked?
I guess he missed them.

I think you missed your calling, Cat . . SM
should have been a CHEF!
Thanks Nana! I missed that. nm
They've probably missed it because...sm
the boot camps are south of the line where the snow is.
I missed the 1st night but saw the 2nd.
It was hilarious. It is obvious some people are even shocked when they hear their own voices a capella. They have probably only sung along with the radio or in the shower before, but even after they've been rejected they keep trying to make a pretty sound come out, like "where is it?" Uh, this is what you always sound like, but it's been drowned out by the radio, LOL.
You missed the point - sm
The point is not that she necessarily go with the goal to work things out in order to stay. The point is that she goes to talk with someone, either with him or alone, to sort through it all so that in the end she can close this chapter of her life and either move on with him or without him. She has stayed these 4 years, so why not be able to put it to bed once and for all, one way or another, with the help of a professional to help guide her?
I guess I must have missed something
when reading, didn't realize there were no beneficiaries named. Wonder how that happened, maybe it was different in the 'old days' but what a headache for someone to try to untangle it all. Don't think today you can get away with not naming beneficiaries, at least what I've seen.
Me too! Never missed Here Come the Brides or
the Monkees!
OMG. I missed the last episode?!?!

before surgery
i've been made aware of a procedure that may help some avoid such surgery -- nonsurgical spinal decompression. I looked it up for a neighbor, and there's a lot out there -- i read the Kansas City and San Diego data -- some pretty impressive results from what i understand.

Probably best surgery I ever did.
I was 41 when I told my physician I wanted to have a hysterectomy. It was in the 80s and I had adenomyosis, terrible pains during the cycle but fine the rest of the month. I put off getting because of work and after I had done, could have kicked myself for a) hurting every month bent over, b) nonstop bleeding, c) not wanting to take time for something I needed to have done. My doctor never approached me on the subject. I retained my ovaries but have never had the first hot flash and that was 20 years ago. Completely liberating for me.
Have the surgery!
The attacks are terrible and my surgery experience wasn't bad. I will admit I hurt pretty bad for several hours afterwards, but they controlled that before I went home. I didn't even have to take any pain medicine after the day of surgery. The incisions weren't bad at all.
anyone have gum surgery?
Has anyone every had gum surgery for receding gums? I grind my teeth and also pick at them (nervous habit I guess, since my teens, now 37yo) and now at the point where I need at least 2 but probably 3 or 4 teeth (gums) done at the upper molars. Had a consult a year ago and he said I should not wait a year to have it done on the 2 teeth, but guess what...and this is over $1000 each tooth - I believe they called it a frenectomy, where they take skin from the roof of your mouth and reattach it at the gumline. My teeth are actually pretty good altohugh I may have developed a tiny shadow (of decay?) on the exposed roots that I recently noticed. My gums and they are starting to bother me. Trying to decide...Behind on utilites always, work part-time, husband does not rake in the big bucks, don't even own a house so I would rather spend a couple thousand on working towards that.. The problem is that it's half up front and the other half can only be spread out into three monthly payments, so it's kind of steep when put that way. If you had it done how was the recovery from it?? Someone give me some fabulous wisdom I am aiming towards giving my dentist a call this week to schedule a cleaning and then scheduling the procedure in September when the kids go back to school.?????
Surgery
I guess I missed the part about surgery somewhere.....but either way.... you have to do what you feel best for you....regardless of what you have to do to reach your goal....Trust me I am behind you whatever you trying to do regarding the weight factor....if it works for you....it works for me.....just trying to give a moral support....
CTS but no surgery
I had CTS a few years back, went to a neurologist and after doing an EMG, he injected my wrists with steroids. Used a bunny splint for awhile at night but have really not had any problems since. This was probably 10-12 years ago. The EMG and injections hurt, but much better than surgery.
I guess you missed the point
I was talking about those who have multiple partners by the time they marry (and these days many women wait until they are close to 30 for marriage) and start having sex at 15/16? Well....you do the math! LOL Sorry but yes I do think that is immoral and I don't know of many guys in my day that would have wanted to marry someone who ten or more other guys got to see naked if you know what I mean. :)
Missed a lot of the discussion apparently - sm
What I don't understand is where you get that all unwed mothers are drug addicts or alcoholics.
That is not true at all. Sure, it happens to some but for you to lump unwed mothers into that category is terrible.
You don't know my personal circumstances. I don't know yours.
I'm just saying that I would like to help others that are in the same situation I was in way back when. Hopefully I would be able to help them so they don't have the struggles that I had.
Thankfully, my child and I were never homeless but I worked my tail off to make sure that didn't happen. I sometimes worked 2-3 jobs.
I also worked my way through school. I didn't get hand outs, didn't expect them either but it really would have been wonderful if someone was there to guide me to the things that I needed to do. Maybe it wouldn't have taken me so long to get to where I needed to be.
Absolutely nothing is free in this world and that would not be the point.
However, this is a dream we are talking about right? This isn't about socioeconomic dysfunction. It's about someone wanting to help someone else.
Missed these shows yesterday...sm
Anything good happen? Did Nick reappear? Please update me...
TyneLyn's party! We missed you, Me2
Little Tyne sure had a great time at her party today! I gave her a small piece of her doggie cake and mom, dad and I had one too! It actually was quite good, but dry, not sugary sweet, of course. I gave her just a little vanilla ice cream with her cake. Later the big guns! Her Dad went into the TV room and brought her brand new toy out on the porch! She played with it all evening and even when I was leaving she was still under the end table between her mom and me while we were watching TV, playing with her new rope toy. She sure had a great day! I said to my mom tonight that it takes so little to bring joy to pets and make them feel loved. Making an animal feel loved and safe is everything to me. I am going to volunteer at our local S.P.C.A. this fall for sure. The orientation is the second Saturday of each month. I work every other Saturday, and the first one that is free is October 13. I will be there!
How cute! Sorry you missed out on it , maybe next time ;)

Oh man, I missed it! Hayseed...requests?
How about we send in requests, and then Hayseed can go out and act them out? That could relieve some boredom while sitting in front of the computer all day! LOL!
Oh gosh, I missed the boat on this one!
I just posted what I thought was awesome, not what I was dreaming was awesome! I have no imagination.
Okay, calorie-free ice cream would be my awesome thing. With Cool Whip. Calorie-free Cool Whip.
glad you are ok Hayseed, I have missed
reading your posts. I have been to the point where the first thing I do when I come to the board is to see whether you posted back yet LOL.
Hello Hayseed, you've been missed again.
Funny picture!!!!
Darn, missed this show.

I missed the show but just saw a clip
What in the world was Teri Hatcher thinking? I thought she really embarrassed herself.
I missed it last night...what happened?
I searched the net but was unable to find any thing on last night's show....
I was up last night but missed your post
So I was up last night at that time but missed your post.
I see you are on PST, where are you located? I am in the Seattle area.
I guess you could call me a Goth MT as well : )
You missed the point of my post
The only things she chose to complain about were nitpicky things -- what they serve for dinner. Most kids don't have dinner with their parents. Last time I checked PB&J and yogurt were pretty healthy. Her GS has ADHD. He isn't going to "behave" on command. Any MT would know that. First she complains because they don't correct them, then she complains because they are, just not to her standards. Instead of criticizing her kids, she should be trying to help the situation.
Did she hit a nerve with me? Absolutely. My parenting skills are always being critiqued. From the time my oldest son was old enough to eat until about the age of 6, I had to pack PB&J everywhere we went. He refused to eat anything else. Was it because I didn't offer it to him, no. It was because that's what he liked and that's what he could control. My other child has ODD -- oppositional defiant disorder. Is it because I didn't parent him correctly? No, it's because that's how he's wired. I have 2 other children who are not like this. They were all raised in the same house under the same rules. I am constantly berated by my father for not "cracking the whip" on him and by my mother for being "too strict." It's so easy to sit back as GPs and offer criticism after criticism. Then after upsetting DS or DD, you can go back home and not be the one who on top of your feelings of inadequacy now has to deal with a difficult child.
I could see if it the OP said the children were malnourished or not cleaned and clothed properly, but she's complaining about yogurt and fishsticks. She's complaining about an ADHD child who doesn't behave.
Nausea after surgery.
My mother had surgery for a rectocele three weeks ago. Everything went fine during surgery and she was released from the hospital a few days later. A week after her surgery she started to feel nauseous and the feeling has not gone away since. It was two weeks ago yesterday since this started. She has not vomited but feels like she is going to. She can hardly eat anything except soup and crackers. She saw her doctor last week for a two week check up and he presribed Prilosec and another medication (can't remember the name) but they did not work. She has also tried some over the counter medications suggested by her pharmacist such as Dramamine and Cola syrup and nothing is working. Has anyone had this problem or know of someone who has? I heard that sometimes anesthesia can cause this and it's just a matter of time before it goes away. Would appreciate any suggestions.
Nausea after surgery
I would definitely have your mom rechecked again as well. My friend's mom had her gallbladder removed and was feeling nauseous where she could hardly eat. Her surgeon brushed it off as a postoperative symptomtom. It turned out that her small bowel had dropped into her surgical wound bed and caused a major infection. Poor women had to be opened up again.
Depression after surgery
My Daddy went through the same thing after he had heart surgery. He would not go to a psychiatrist or counselor. We spoke with his primary care physician who put him on Paxil which helped tremendously. Ask your PCP or cardiologist if it would be possible to start him on an antidepressant to see if that may make a diffence.
Good luck and take care.
