I liked Protonix

I don't know about contraindications in your case, so I cant' speak to that. I have been on every acid suppressing med available over the last 10 years or so - mainly because my insurance would change and the med I was on was no longer covered. Anyway, as I rose upward in what would work better and insurance would covered, I saw a great improvement in my symptoms when I went from Nexium to Protonix. I eventually had to change to Aciphex - again because of insurance - and I think Protonix and Aciphex are the 2 best I have ever been on. On both of these, all my symptoms resolved no matter what I include in my diet, whereas with the others I still had to watch my diet.

Does anyone use Protonix for GERD? Is it going to work just like Nexium?
Ran out of Nexium and can't afford to get a new Rx, so my neighbor gave me a bunch of Protonix.  Just wondering if it's going to work and if there are any contraindications. TIA!
