Sorry to hear of your friend being like that. You had a good way of dealing with it.

I was also bothered because it reminded me of something I went through years ago with my cousin. We were pretty much best friends until my sister had her baby, and my cousin would always make comments about my niece's size and appearance (She was beautiful and a big baby at almost 10 pounds although my sister is small.). Reading the comments the woman made about my kids just brought back feelings I had when my cousin was like that. It was too bad my cousin always had to be like that because then we decided to keep our distance and eventually stopped doing things with them. It was a shame because our kids could have grown up with their cousins. It is wrong for people to be like that. I really believe that a lot of times the children are really nicer and more understanding of others than their parents.
