Risks
Can't yuou read? It is exactly the contrary:
'The risks include pain and a low risk of bleeding or infection. These risks are HIGHER for older babies, boys and men.'
****Then don't ever have circumcision performed when it is not necessary, in infants or in boys or in men.
And, BTW this is all voluntary, NOBODY FORCES ANYBODY TO UNDERGO CIRCUMCISION.
****You're kidding, right? Parents force their infants to have circumcisions every single time one is performed.
OR SHOULD PARENTS ASK THEIR 1-day old baby.
'Darling, do you want to be circumcised or not? Please, answer me! I cannot make a decision, Help me, here!'
****The answer, if the infant had any idea what was coming & could communicate this, would be No.
You are kind of CRAZY !
****I think the same about anyone who would allow a knife to be taken to an infant unnecessarily. The heinousness of this act is camouflaged by the fact that it is socially acceptable, although it is becoming less so.
Yes, I chose to have everything taken out due to the risks
involved of leaving the ovaries in. I was actually pregnant at the time of this discovery and elected to continue the pregnancy (against medical advice) and had the surgery done afterwards.
There are risks with EVERYTHING. I only use it occasionally

The risks of posting
GF- I am sorry you were ganged up on here. Happens frequently. It's easy to judge others as we sit back in our chairs, comparing other families to our own. Can't say I'm not guilty of doing the same.
Your question was about the key, not about the situation and all it may entail. Unfortunately most people chose to question the details around your family situation. You owe no one an explanation.
My thoughts on the key: You did the right thing. His place of residence will no longer be at your house, but at your daughter's house. Therefore, he should only have a key to her house.
football
Football practice is very tough, for one thing because it is so hot. . As for not seeing well, my daughter had a friend who was legally blind who was very good on the football team - he was the kicker - he even got a partial scholarship to college. . If he is not totally sure he wants to do it, maybe he could watch the practices and/or talk to some of the kids doing it and think about doing it next year.
I would if I liked football!
xx
Having known the risks up front, I decided
myself never to have a child after 30 even. I had my first at 21 and then my daughter was born when I was 29. I just had always heard the risks and did not want to take them myself. Everyone can do what they want but the older here is not always the better.
I agree. He will probably end up without a job come football season..sm
Seems like the new NFL commissioner is coming down hard on these players. Lots of them already suspended for up to 1/2 the season for drugs. Michael Vick should be without his NFL career or any endorsements. And with his millions I think his fine should be way more than the 350,000 they are talking! I think they should make him give some of those millions to the Humane Society and other highly recongnized animal programs.
Can a kid with really bad eyesight play football?
My boy, Eddie, is seven years old. He has retinitis pigmentosa and gradually worsening decreasing vision. His vision without glasses is 20/200 and best corrected is 20/60. He does pretty well with baseball, especially after he had the bilateral rectus recession surgery and now both eyes are working together.
Tomorrow, however, is supposed to be football sign-ups, and I've been going back and forth about getting him involved or not. He's not all the way sure if he wants to do it either. I talked to some moms today, and they explained to me how grueling this five-day course of "conditioning" is. They described to me that most kids throw up from being overworked and go home crying. Doesn't sound like the best way for me to spend $45. He's not the toughest kid on the block, or any block for that matter, and I really don't know which way to go here. Any advice, football moms?
football or basketball pools
Get involved in a football or basketball pool with one of your friends. They generally meet in bars to pick teams, but then you meet some super nice guys (our age) and they love it when a woman loves sports. I am married but have met some great guys who I have introduced to my friends. Also, go to ball games in your town. Agree with the golf course, as well.
Anyone interested in ALW broadway plays or NFL football?
As far as NFL, I have been, and always will be, a Minnesota Vikings fan. They have broken my heart so many times but I've been a fan 35 years now. I grew up about 90 minutes south of Cleveland and have never even been to MN. But I loved the color purple, the Purple People Eaters, Frank Tarkenton, Matt Blair, Chuck Foreman, etc. It's my second longest relationship (my family being my first - LOL).
As for Andrew-Lloyd Webber plays, I know every word to every song from Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, and Phantom. I also love A Chorus Line (not an ALW play). I've seen it twice live and cried both times. Most of the dancers' stories are just so sad. "At The Ballet" is my favorite. Here's a youtube link. Watch the third girl who comes in during the song (Maggie - played by Kay Cole) and watch her belt out a high E like you've never heard. (around 4:54 into the song).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cPBWzsQ5zo
As a side note, the first girl who sings (Sheila) is played by Kelly Bishop who is on the Gilmore Girls (never saw show, just heard she was on it).
These people are the original Broadway cast.
I've seen Evita live several times as well as JSC. I actually got to see JCS with the original Jesus and Judas from the movie made in 1973 (Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson) at a performance in CT (Foxwoods Casino). Unfortunately, we lost Carl Anderson (Judas) to leukemia a few years back. There will never be another Judas like him, AFAIC. Godspeed, Carl.
So, anyone else an NFL or ALW/Broadway play fan? Anyone have any different Broadway plays they really like?
I wanted that coach
patchwork purse but didn't want to spend $500 for it, so my daughter found a good looking knock off in china and I love it!
I have a Coach purse
and wallet combo that I paid almost $800 for combined. They're about a year old and look better than they did when I pulled them out of the bag. The leather is tanned better and so it actually starts to look better when it ages. There is a very different feel to a handbag like that as opposed to one from Wal Mart which is where I got every other purse I had.
I bought it at the Coach Store on Rodeo Drive when I was on vacation - that was part of the fun for me. I paid cash and have never regretted it. It's a fabulous purse and should last me for the next 20 years.
I would be mad, but if she is not the teacher or coach then her opinion is just that,
I would tell your how you feel and that it was rude of her to say that to you.
Your daugher has valid excuses for missing, but you should not have to explain them to anyone but the person in charge of the team. Maybe if you dont want to say anything, just give her the cold shoulder and she might get the hint, then if she says - why the cold shoulder? - let her have it!
Any ideas for a coach's gift?
Soccer season is over in a month (U8) and I'm team mom so wanted to come up with a coach's gift. I know there are the standard team plaques, etc but I'd really like to get him something different. He's an awesome coach. The other parents haven't really come up with any ideas but are willing to split the cost of something within reason.
Any ideas??
Well - I'm just as shocked - sm
As the next person! I had no idea an insurance company would do that. I'm not 100% sure that this is going through for them. All I know is that they said the adjuster came out and measured and told them that the bedrooms would not be included in the carpet replacement. I had this happen in our previous house. We had 1 year-old carpeting, and I trudged through the house carrying a toilet brush through that was dripping comet cleaner. Needless to say, I had spots from one end of my house to the other. Not sure exactly what I was thinking. Anyway, I never gave a thought to calling the insurance company about it, so we just lived with it.
Hey - what did you think of the one with the dog? I was shocked!

I was shocked at so many
We live in a small town in Virginia. There were a couple of pregnancies when I was in high school but it was not paraded around. I know of a couple of abortions as well. My kids hang out with other "good" kids. I guess I was being niave because my son has so many female friends and they hang out here at my house a lot so I feel like I know them fairly well. I know there are a lot of girls out there that are sexually active but with all the birth control these days and the knowledge about all the STDs I thought more girls were using protection. BTW, we had this conversation in the car and when I asked he said if he had a yearbook in front of him he could show me the girls, but they were not girls that he knew. I even said "I don't believe you, there is someone you just don't want to name", and he said that was not it at all. I still know there are good girls out there, and I just have a problem when all girls are lumped together in one category. I must admit this thread has been very enlightening.
I'm really shocked at what you said (sm)
do you not have children? I said I wanted to move from the house, not leave him. So of course it is a big deal for him to say he wants to find another woman who likes his life and his house. Why is it just HIS house? I gave birth to his children and work full-time, but still have no say around here. No big deal? How can you think like that?
Wow! I am actually shocked!
He just "informed you?!" He didn't discuss it with you? Not the way things work here! That said, if he is still going to go, why don't you drive to your parents with your son? Four hours isn't that bad, make a long weekend out of it?
Good luck to you.
I was definitely shocked
My daughter and I were screaming. We just couldn't believe it. We even had my friend on the phone and her and the kids were just stunned. My husband thinks it was fixed just to bring some drama. He's always thought that AI was fixed, though. I still think at this point it's sad when anyone leaves because I think they're all very talented. Unfortunatley, only one can win.
AI--anyone as shocked as I was
about the bottom 3 last night. That goes to show anything can happen at this point. Even Allison and Danny could not believe it. All of their faces was priceless. It was time for Matt to go but I still think Matt should have gone before Anoop.
Karolyi ? The American coach from the 80s said that he knows for a fact sm
that some are much younger than 16. I watched an interview with him this week. He says that there's nothing anyone will do about it right now. I'd like to see the Gold snatched from them in a few months after an investigation. That is TOTAL cheating.
I gave up on Coach when everyone under 21 started carrying them..have a lot of them
but have moved up.
I was very shocked last night...
My DH and I picked Melinda from the beginning to win, so we were very disappointed. Probably won't watch next week.
I'm shocked at the people who
leave dogs and cats out in the weather. At my last place my neighbor left her cats out winter and summer. One of them was this dainty little white cat with brown spots who would always return to the neighbor's house every evening, as if hoping this would be the night she was remembered. She would sit under the overhang of the front bay window, behind some bushes, but I could still see her there, waiting. Finally I made her a cardboard box with a small opening and put thick newspapers and a towel in the bottom. I put it under the overhang and that cat used that box every night. It made now impression on the neighbor, apparently.
I was TOTALLY SHOCKED!!!!

I love my Coach purse too - bought it on Ebay! nm

A sore loser? I saw it and I think she was truly shocked.

I coach softball and my favorite gift was a sweatshift with photo of the team and all the kids signe
They signed it in some kind of indelible ink which is great because I actually wear it all the time. I also got a plaque that looks just like the shirt, which is nice to have because I'm sure I'll wear out the sweatshirt. I love them and feel proud when I wear the shirt. We were champs of the league and the district and for a couple months after the season we were all kind of local celebrities! I played at a high level myself traveling all over Italy and Japan, but coaching this group was the best experience of my athletic career.
There is teacher's side of story, kid's side of story

If you only knew!
I'm not a pagan, just simply educated on many different religions and other things of interest to me.
I knew when I saw what was going on,
simple. He was having wrecks and letting me know about them. His wife was deceased and I tried to get help for him and even telling him he was being taken, did not think so. Red flags flying all around- 1 lady who cared for his wife before her death, married, younger than me, all of a sudden taking interest in a 90 year old man who did not use deodorant? No way. I was out of town, bottom line after his death the person I spoke had got $60,000.00 from him, had him set up an account in her name and his social security check and other monies going directly into that account. I knew what I saw. She went to the bank the day after his death and pulled all out. I have been there.
see, I knew you all (most) would come through
for me. Sounds like a good alternative. You guys have given me great ideas.
Knew you could do it.
Didn't take long at all once your Realtor knew you meant business. Better for him, anyway.
And to think I knew all of these
guess not, have so many of those sayings and yet had never heard of this.
I wish I knew
I have one in the house now that keeps landing on my computer screen. I can't get rid of him. Even my cat is no help this evening.
They say she knew nothing - I don't see how though (nm)

That is when I knew that...
...it was over in my first marriage When I was glad to see his a** go out that door and say to myself *good*, then I knew I had really lost that lovin' feeling.
THanks so much, knew there was a way nm

maybe you took him b/c you knew

I never knew that
But with the large refund we got it's paying a credit card that we've been trying to pay off forever so I'll take the refund anyway I can.
I knew someone who did this too
I think this is a wonderful idea - of course, it wouldn't work for everyone but I can see a lot of benefits if it could work for you...
No...I never knew that either
Not that I care either way, I like her, just never knew that
Yes, and this is how I knew as well. sm
When you get to I don't give $ ___ you are there!
I wish I knew what to say but I am
65 now and have yet to have a midlife crisis. What is going on in your life that you just want to sleep and nothing else. You have no joys in life, just work alone? I have been in what I call ruts before but eventually snapped out of those. One thing is with my work if I would ever just get so fed up with working a lot and burned out basically, would find some time to take off from work and do other things I might enjoy, such as an escape to a movie, the zoo, etc.
Hey thanx, I never knew that! :) sm
About only adjectives with three or more syllables getting the comparative/superlative form of "more" and "most".
I've ALWAYS said "more stupid", but "stupidest" or "most stupid". Why, I don't know. But I usually avoid that word in any form.....
