Oh, I hope you didn't think I was being mean! (sm)
I was joking along with you...sorry if it didn't sound that way. You never know on these boards :-)
I hope I didn't come off as being rude...
that is not what I was trying to do. I didn't think you were judging me...I was just relating my experience with people who did pass judgment on me and my decision for meds...Everyone is different. I am truly sorry you had a horrible circumstance, but I am glad God pulled you through and you are here to share your thoughts. I am sorry if I sounded like I was defensive...It is hard to project your feelings on a medium like this...Yes..God does work in mysterious ways...am I am grateful for my second chance.
I hope she didn't marry him
i'm sure my winning the lotto wouldn't change that LOL
I hope I didn't sound like...
I was putting you down for your decision to let your child sleep with you. It seems that there are a lot of postings now mentioning that and I certainly did not mean to sound like you made a bad decision or anything. I know a lot of parents do agree with that, I am just not one of them.
My child has stayed in our bedroom on occasion and I have stayed in his until he has fallen asleep, it has just not become routine. We have found other ways around things that may frighten him.
I just meant that everyone has to find what works for their own child and I think its great that you aren't brushing off what your child is telling you but you are trying to find answers to help.
Didn't do it to hope to offend....
There are enough piggy women out there to rival the men. I always find it amusing that women put down men so much, but leap at the chance to date them, marry them, look great for them, use their money, want to be treated with respect by them, but never look in the mirror at themselves. I, for one, have a fabulous man and am very proud to say it; he in turn has a fabulous woman!
Sorry, didn't mean to offend. I meant, at a better salon. Hope that
xx
Oops! Hope I didn't offend you - my point was (sm)
that the more strict the parents are, the more rebellious the kids will be when the parents aren't around. In the past people always thought that "preacher's kids" were worse because they were raised so strictly. I think back then preachers were harder on their kids because they wanted them to project a perfect image.
How much do you pay for a haircut? SM
I live in a fairly large city and I believe I have been paying way too much.
I don't want to start any battles, but I'm just curious. What is average?
haircut
I pay about $20 for a wash, dry, style plus a tip. I guess it could be worse huh?
Haircut
I pay anywhere from $17-$22 in a small town in Northern Ohio. If you go to one of the chains like Best Cuts, Famous Hair, etc., it runs anyways from $10-$13.
What should you tip on a $65 haircut?
//
Haircut
For just a cut and a dry/style - 12.00. I usually tip about 20%.
Over-priced haircut. SM
The salon and hairdresser I have been going to for years have raised their prices like crazy over the past year or so. They now charge $60 for a haircut. My hair is short, chin length.
The hairdresser used to spend about 20 minutes doing my hair, what with blowdrying and all, but now, since the price has gone up, she is spending less than five minutes. Clip, clip and done.
Can I ask her if she would lower the price for my haircut or would that be out of line? If not, I am definitively planning on going to another salon. Haircuts around here are not cheap, but $60 for short hair and less than five minutes is insane. If that was what anything was thinking, yes, it is INSANE.
$60 ? i pay 12 for a haircut w/styling. where are you?
x
I always tip 10-15%, but I have never paid $65 just for a haircut...
nm
haircut prices
$35 to $40; less if you don't have it blow-dried. For the works (cut, color, highlights), about $150. Toner may be more, depending on the salon. Tip is 20%, & don't forget the shampoo tech.
These are Houston prices.
$30.00 for haircut.... Upscale salon...
I usually give her 5.00, but 10 if she colors. I love her though and gave her 20.00 at Christmastime.....
I pay $40.00 for a haircut, color and to get my eyebrows done. She charges $30.00, but I pay her $4

How much do you pay for a haircut and what's the rule about tipping your stylist?? nm
My 15-yo son shops on line at Old Navy and Hot Topic, shoes.com. And he's cool. As for haircut.
Not a charge per se........sm
Just be sure that you do it from your land line or online throught the Tracfone web site. If you use your Tracfone to activate or add air time, you could lose some of your air time.
Overall, I think it is a great way to have a cell phone because you can control the costs (no surprise $400 phone bills) and there is no contract (therefore no fee for cancellation of your contract if you choose to end the service).
Yeah thats what they do, they charge
it off so they aren't out money and they could care less about you. If you offer to make a payment that they don't think is enough, they refuse it. They would rather not get any money from you then accept a partial amount, and I honestly think it is because they can just write it off. They actually discourage people from trying to pay off their own debts, and they certainly penalize you for it. I totally relate!
yes, they might charge you a bit for reports...sm
but is always worth it to have them.........*S*.....my friend in Florida just had a cardiac catheterization and wanted his reports, and they charged him $11 for them DIRECTLY after the procedure...*sheesh* - cannot believe it......
In charge of nothing, apparently.
That kind of power is too much for most people.
I would tell her to find someone else to be in charge
Tell her nicely that you really cannot afford to buy another dress and that it might be better to ask someone else to do it. I think that it is very rude of her to tell you at the last minute like that. Good luck!
Get adapter - charge from car nm

Is there a charge to activate the
phone the first time?
I can do the same thing but they charge - sm
tuition as well here. But is is a heck of a lot cheaper than private school, about $1500-$2000 a child.
The charge runs out
Your power goes out and you can't recharge it.
You have an accident and drop/damage it - you're instantly phoneless until you go get a replacement.
You can't remember where you left it, and don't have another phone to call it so it will ring and you can find it.
Moms are in charge of the fun!
What are your summer fun plans?
Free days at local attractions, or something bigger?
At my house we will be taking a week to explore our own state, which is pretty big!
Most debit cards can also be used as a charge
card. If you use it as a charge card you do not have to put in a PIN number. What happened to your daughter sounds like someone from Bobs took the actual account number information. I'd confront Bobs mgmt.
Why do they need someone in charge of the guest book?
You leave it on the table by the placecards, and people sign it when they get their table assignments. I have never seen anyone in charge of a guest book before. Talk about micromanaging.
this is true; we need to take charge and care for others who

Would you charge 18yo rent?
Son is turning 18 in a couple of weeks. Has a part time job (going full time when turns 18 due to labor laws), no plans for college, not really sure what he wants to do, oh - and he has to go to summer school to finish a course and get credit for school.
So - would you charge rent when he turns 18 and if so, how much? What about groceries (he's skinny as a rail and eats ALL day long! ha).
he''s in charge is what it means since Anna is dead.....

Why is a parent volunteer in charge of the ESL child?!? sm
I'm astounded that this task is being left to someone who is not even a teacher, let alone not a specialist. Is this a financially depressed area/school that has lack of funding for such programs? Or a school that normally doesn't have ESL kids and they just don't know what to do with him?
Bless you for trying, I don't have any answers, just a dumbfounded look on my face.
I don't think they charge to listen to introductory message.nm

I have an 18-year-old daughter and we charge her rent...
I think it teaches them responsibility and what the "real" world is like, there is not a free ride and to be accountable. The rent we charge does include groceries, cell phone, etc. She just pays my husband and I a lump sum at the beginning of the month and it covers all expenses at home. She buys her own clothes, make-up, personal items and even helps with her college expenses at the local community college. I think it's a great idea!
Can you direct us to a legitimate company, one that does not charge the shopper?

start by taking charge of your life in 1 small way
Start exercising again. If you can't walk, do you get a channel on tv that has a fitness show? Can you borrow fitness tapes from the library? I wouldn't start with the divorce right away; I would pick something smaller to change to start with. I know this is easier said than done. Good luck.
14-year-old girl faces pornography charge
There's got to be a better way of stopping this than possibly having her register as a sex offender at 14.
CLIFTON — A 14-year-old girl faces child pornography charges after she allegedly posted nearly 30 nude pictures of herself on a social networking site, authorities said.
Detectives with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department’s Internet Crimes Unit arrested the teen Tuesday. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted sheriff’s detectives about someone posting photos of an underage nude girl on a MySpace profile. The center, which monitors social networking sites for illegal images of children, contacted county detectives through the State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, said Bill Maer, the sheriff’s department spokesman.
Following a month-long investigation, detectives discovered that the person posting the pictures was the same person featured in them — the 14-year-old girl. Anyone who was “friends” with the girl through MySpace or knew her full name could have accessed the photos.
The teen was charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography. She was released into her mother’s custody, Maer said.
The teen reportedly told police she posted the pictures into a photo album for her boyfriend’s enjoyment. More arrests may be forthcoming, Maer said. Maer said that North Jersey parents should make sure they are aware of their children’s activities on the Internet.

I didn't say her decor didn't sound great.
It's not ridiculous.
I would seriously doubt the Christianity of anyone who feels it is okay to celebrate Halloween. It is anti-God in every aspect.
You can only service 1 God and the folly of man and carnality is in direct conflict with holiness.
Thanks - I didn't realize they didn't like the smell of citrus
I have the feeling he doesnt have a UTI and he's trying to tell me something else, but I'll be taking him to the vets to be safe.
I didn't phrase that well. I didn't mean to SM
offend. I think I said that to other lady below!
I wouldn't want to be told that myself. I guess you sounded down. Again, if I offended anyone, I'm sorry.
I'm a channel surfer. Last night watched PBS documentary on Kennedy assasination, then PBS show on Dick Cheney. Yuck. Then watched show on stem cell research to cure paralysis. There were two young woman, both with paralysis, who were so inspiring. Watched another segment on Current about blind people using their voices to "see". That had to be seen to be believed. Anyway, positives offset the negative.
Again, sorry if I said anything out of line.
well, I certainly hope that...sm
everyone on the plane wasn't hovering around this woman while she nursed...good grief!
Mind your own business and you'd never even know the baby was being nursed...dang!
By the way, at Disneyland.. how many butts and boobs did you see hanging out of shorts and tops? Did *yo momma* report them to the security and hold them hostage while they were told to leave? Huh? Doubt it!
Hope you are doing well... sm
I totally understand how you may be feeling. I was only able to get pregnant one time and lost the baby four weeks into the pregnancy, but I was the most pregnant woman in the world during that time. How special I felt; how special my husband and I felt together with this miracle growing inside me. Then, our world was shattered by the loss of the child we dreamt of. It took me a long time to get to a place in my heart where I could talk openly about the loss and grieve for our lost child. We prayed and prayed that God would bless us again, but it didn't happen the way we expected. I did not get pregnant again. Our little girl in heaven would be age 22 now.
Then, at the age of 40, when we had all but given up on parenthood, we met a 16-year-old unwed mother at our church. She was raising her infant daughter by herself and living in a shelter. She had decided to bring this child into the world instead of taking the easier road and aborting her. God bless her for that. She and her infant daughter came to live with us for over three years, restoring the joy of having a child to our home. For that time, we were content being "Nana and Pappaw." Then, the birth mom got involved with a man who wrecked her life and caused her to have to give up her child for adoption. We did not want this to happen to her, but the Lord intervened and we were able to adopt her daughter as our own. She is now 11 years old, is a wonderful child, bright, loving, and full of life. Her birth mom left the man who caused all the trouble, and God blessed her with a wonderful husband and a son. We now have contact with her new family by telephone, and she is like a daughter to us as well. Our 11-year-old daughter is so amazing, and so much like us that it is almost frightening! God, in His infinite wisdom, will restore you, just as He restored us. Trust in Him and trust His timing. We will be praying for you as you go through this chapter in your life. We are also in the State of Georgia, and you may email me at any time, should you need to talk to someone who has been there, and reassurance that God loves you and there are a lot of people out here praying for you. May God richly bless you throughout the holidays, and may you find His peace which passes all understanding.
