I'm thinking that either she has given up OR has finally realized how ridiculously out of line she was and is too embarassed to say anything else. I would hope that my second thought is the correct one. Either way, I don't think we'll be hearing from her again, at least not for a loooooong time, which is 100% fine with us. We don't need that kind of unecessary drama in our lives, especially after all of the outrageous and false personal attacks she made at both of us. The one that really made my blood boil is when she said that we are financially irresposible and tend to get in over our heads, which is downright untrue! Frankly, both my husband and I are great at budgeting our money, pay our bills, and still manage to have enough left over for things we want, and I think there may be a tad bit of jealsouly from her in that respect. She is the one who is always getting in over her head. She has 2 sons who are almost 30 and she has always had to pay almost all of their bills because they refuse to work and want to do nothing but sit around and be lazy all day and night. Oh well. We have other friends who are actually "normal!" :)

I know she "surrendered" to the police on the DUI charge in May. She wasn't officially arrested until after she finished rehab. I haven't heard about her in jail right now.

you might want to have thyroid and ferritin checked. I actually went to a derm doc for same thing, and he said it's been his experience that a lot of women with hair problem have low ferritin. Mine was borderline-low, so started taking vitamin with a a little iron in it. I probably haven't been getting enough iron in diet and stopped taking iron many years ago. But I think mine is probably a combination of things, since I'm a lot older than you and all the menopause things figured in there too. My GYN PA, before the derm doc, basically said yeah, you're old with no estrogen left, think back to when your hair was in its best shape. Yeah, I remember that when I was pregnant, but kind of patronizing attitude there with no help. Yeah, I know I'm old, okay?

Unfortunately, I decided not to call the parent as I kept thinking about our earlier conversation when I called her about her child slapping my son. She had every excuse in the book why she could not come get her child. I was insistent this child was going home because of her behavior and ended up giving in and saying she could stay based on all the excuses her mom gave me. If I was called and told my child had slapped someone at a vistor's house or anywhere for that matter, it wouldn't take me more than 5 minutes to get there and get my child. I'll just have to chalk this up to like mother, like child.
I haven't heard everything about the case
It is so so tragic. All I think about is don't people know how many familes there are who are dying (well dying is a poor choice of words but can't think of another word) to have children (like me). So many couples cannot have children. If the mothers/parents can't handle them then why don't they bring them somewhere so they don't do something horrible like this. I do believe the rat-fink mother definitely did this. Intentional or not I have no idea unless I hear more. But I don't think that really matters whether it was intentional or not. You would think a person in their right mind at some point of doing the act they did say to themselves what in the world am I doing. I don't care if you panic or not. Rush that child to an ER and then take it from there. If she can't handle having kids have family or friends or anyone take them.
I think her actions are speaking loudly. I do believe she did it and she thought she was going to get away with it. I think she thought she wouldn't be found. I'm not a parent but I do believe that parents know where their kids are every hour of the day. To not report something for a month???? I also believe the grandparents new because the grandmother told the police it smelled like a dead body. Usually if something stinks really bad people will say something like "it smelled like something died in here" or "it smells like a dead rat". Not "it smelled like a dead body". What would she know what a dead body smelled like". So with those comments I believe the grandparents knew and tried to help cover it it.
It's just a real mess and very tragic.

They came here to PA to protest a soldier's funeral this winter. The only thing they hadn't planned on was the fact that the town where the funeral was held was so small, there was one main street in and out...and that was blocked by the Harley riders and others, so they didn't get in.

Sure a Muslim can pray in this country anytime they want, heck you can worship satan himself or practice witchcraft, but a be a Christian and actually admit you are one, let alone pray or read your Bible in public... come on, are you serious? You know every Christian has a secret agenda. We're just proselytizing little brainwashed fools. We're not just praying quietly to ourselves -- we are praying God will send a lightening bolt and strike all the unbelievers. We Christians aren't just placing our Bibles on our desks to read during our breaks -- we HOPE to beat someone over the head with it at some point during the day.

I don't think he thinks of himself as a poor kid. He is 21 now and is a real estate agent and in his last year of college. He is one of the best young men that you would ever want to meet. If you had a daughter, believe me you would want him for a son-in-law. And that's no joke.

I said sent in error and that is what happened, not that you had anything to do with this, you did not. Apparently by saying independent and asking about how to send in taxes, this person thought I was maybe owner of a company. Maybe rereading the post I held no one accountable, no one. I would never respond to a post like this because of it being from India and just too many scammers out there for me. The first sentence says - - I don’t know where they got my email unless this site is giving it out - this sentence did not come from me.

Where we live, the same thing is happening. There is plenty of training material available to scout leaders on the transition period and how to help the boys stay in scouting. There are videos, training sessions run by people like me, written material, etc. It's out there. It's just hard to get it through some of the leaders' brains that the boys need to be treated like boys in transition, and not like army recruits. I really applaud you for being willing to go out on the trips with the troop. That is also a hard thing to do with so many men around. I looked very carefully when my boys were crossing over to scout troops. We are fortunate in our area to have many troops to choose from. We found a great troop headed by mostly even-thinking adults who had no problem with a woman joining them. It's not perfect, and every now and then, some sexist fool says or does something stupid, but nothing is ever insurmountable in that regard. Know that having women leaders is a unit option, which means that the chartering organization can decide that no girls are allowed, so to speak. This is sometimes done for religious reasons. Other times it's just sort of a tacit tradition. I didn't have to overcome that issue, and in fact, when it was discovered that I had been camping all my life and was an avid solo backpacker, I got the job of teaching the boys about backpacking, too. Our troop welcomed all volunteers who were willing to be trained and who could commit to helping the boys.
I do hope it works out for your son. If you do join as a leader, be sure that you take advantage of all the training opportunities available to you. Your troop should have a training coordinator or advancement chair who knows when training is offered. (By the way, are the adult leaders of this troop fully trained? That's VERY important.) As a GSUSA leader, you should understand the value of training. The Girl Scouts really do a great job of requiring leaders to be trained. BSA councils and districts, however, sometimes vary on how strict they are on training requirements. Don't be afraid to help out. You're doing this for your son, and that really is a great motivator. And what's really cool is that most of us start out wanting to help our own sons, but in the process we help so many other boys and parents along the way.

I sent an email to someone on here today, on just how bad off are you
and I really mean this from the bottom of my heart. This person said they were having trouble paying their house note or rent, not sure right now which one. I never got an answer but let me just say sometimes there are people out here who want to help you, me being one of those. I asked about her situation, how much she owed and to tell me something about her family. I might get hateful postings because of my saying this and you may not think I mean it but I do things like this a lot. I love to give but … I pick and choose the ones I feel could really use the assistance. I now will not be answering any emails but I just wanted to let people know sometimes there are ones around who care. I have gotten so much from helping others. Stories that I read, things I see on television that touch my heart and from what I do I get so much more back than I could ever give away.
She just sent me a LONG email
basically saying how we're trying to screw her over when she has always been there for us and telling us how "irresponsible" we both are. WHATEVER! I didn't even respond, but I soooooo wanted to, but my husband and my parents told me that a response is probably what she is looking for and to not reply. This email was well over a page long. It was ridiculously insane!
If I were you, I would rebut her email, because
if you don't she might see it as her victory.
State in your email that she 'verbally' agreed to the amount of $ 400.-- and her husband agreed $ 500.-- for the renovation of the basement = total $ 900.-- and you gave him $ 1,000.--.
