I have wooden planters

I have long ones, whiskey barrells, etc. all over my deck since I my land is the river and I do not put any plastic liners or anything next to the wood but the dirt.  My planters have lasted the 12 years I have been here.  Some people down here that don't want the extra weight of the dirt in large tubs, do put that popcorn stuff that comes in boxes when shipping things for several inches and then dirt on top of that.  They go to certain stores, Pier 101, on their shipping/receiving dates and get it.  You can also put a small layer of pepples if you think that the dirt will fall through but I have never lost much through a summer of watering, etc.   Good luck.  The plastic would not be that good for the roots of the plants.    Patti

How about a long wooden spoon
or spatula until you can get the real thing.
I love the wooden spoon sets, I think there's 3 different spoons in the set...
I also love the plain old metal vegetable peeler, for some reason it seems to work better than any I have ever had, I bought some for friends and family.
She needs hard things to help wear the tooth down. Try clean branches, a wooden spoon, wood chews
