I have a surgeon who I work for who always says: I spent quite some time with she and her husband or she and her mother or she and somebody else. It's so wrong. I spent quite some time with she? No, correct would be I spent quite some time with her...and whomever. He does this with he and she all the time...and he hates to be corrected but I refuse to use improper grammar.......
I see TV anchors doing the same thing on the news. It's disgusting. How did they get to be journalists and news anchors AND NEVER DID WELL IN GRAMMAR? Huh? I don't get it. But then again, I got a great public school education back in the 50s-60s.....and today, that public school education, at least in the bigger cities/areas, IS BAD..................REALLY BAD TODAY.
