It could be the BCP. My doc had to try me on a few different kinds before the right match was made. They have different levels of hormones and your body will react differently to each. I also had very heavy flowing along with many painful cysts. The important thing is really leveling with her doc. My docs actually did have me move onto the next pack when I hit the sugar pills. I couldn't be on Depo because the hormones were too much for me, but they also wanted to avoid me having my period so that's how they did it. All of the pills are supposed to regulate your period, so if she's taking them faithfully and still having irregular periods, she really does need to tell the doc.
