Just finished Harry Potter - no spoilers
I would never ruin it for anyone. Just wanted to say - What a ride! It was an excellent book! Sorry it's all over.
Harry Potter Book
I've never read them, not my cup of tea, but my daughter has been reading them right along. She went to Harry Potter Night at our local bookstore the night before the book came out. She had a great time and got to get the book just afternoon midnight. I read today over 8.2 million copies of the book were sold in 24 hours.
Agree with all yours and add Harry Potter movies...nm

It sounds like you probably would like to see the Harry Potter books burned too
People like you are why I have a problem with religous nut cases. The last time I knew God = love. God loves all his children no matter what. You are just filled with judgement and self-righteousness. I believe that if someone is being physically abused of course remove them. If they are living the ways their religion believes and it is not hurting anyone leave them alone. So what if they wear funny clothes and their hair looks funny to outsiders. What gives one religion the right to dictate how another lives. Yes I know polygamy is illegal, children marrying and having sex with adults is disgusting in my opinion, but we should try and understand each other. I heard a quote one time that said "Don't tell me how I should or should not live and I won't tell you how you should or should not live". We are not The Creator and we should not be judging people. Let the courts handle it when they've got something legitimate and solid to work with.
I have a Chihuahua named Mione. My daughter named her after Hermione from Harry Potter. I also ha
We also have a hamster named Sandy.
Yeah, like when Tom Potter
decided Portland would opt out of the Terrorism Task Force because they refused to give him the same security clearance as the two cops that would be working under him. I think the government pulled various funding from the state for that. Probably do the same thing with this.
AI Spoiler
I heard that too. I kind of thought that myself.
Definitely!! (spoiler alert)
I don't think Locke will die. The island will heal him. That whole "Jacob" thing was weird. I don't know quite what to make of that.
And I don't know what kind of game Jack is playing at, hiding things from his own people and taking Juliet's side. Did he feel so betrayed by seeing Kate and Sawyer together that he turned against all of them? He used to be the glue that held everything together. Now it all seems to be falling apart.
I had been enjoying most of the new episodes, but I don't like it when formerly trustworthy people seem to turn on others. That's a bit too "Survivor"-ish to me (I don't watch "Survivor" and from the little bit I know about it, I really really don't like it).
I guess we'll just have to see....
sorry...Harry S. Truman

Any other LOST fans? spoiler
DH and I enjoy Lost, and record it with DVR so we won't miss it. Did anybody see tonight's show? They sure misled us with the promo. Do you think both the man & woman just mostly dead? Because that man could have been bitten thousands of times, right? And he should have recovered sooner ...
Show ... LOST (spoiler)
So last week's characters are more than mostly dead by now I suppose. I really thought at least the girl might dig her way out, but I guess she was still too stiff.
This week was freaky. Wonder how Locke is going to like his new life? Do you really think Jack was unconscious that long, or was he afraid he wouldn't be trusted if he wasn't treated to the same gassing that the others got? I guess Juliet regreted leaving the handcuffs on when she got her shoulder knocked out of joint! I wonder why the smoke monster didn't go over the top of the microwave (or whatever) fence? Could Juliet have really not known about the monster? And why did it shine a light on her like it was taking her picture? Do you think Ben controls the smoke monster and was spying on Juliet?
I thought it was good, but as usual, more questions than answers.
They are saying on the Idol boards... could be spoiler (sm)
That the "shocker" is that no one goes tonight.... everyone is safe.
Well I was wrong about one of the eliminations (spoiler)
I'm glad Lil's gone, but I was ready for Allison to go too, NOT ANOOP! I love Anoop's voice & was sad to see him go... :(
I'm glad Matt got to stay another week - I don't think I could take him tearing up again & making me tear up, LOL!
Any AI fans here today? - SPOILER - sm
What did everyone think about last night? I thought Kris looked really uncomfortable during his performance and especially afterwards. Though I really like Danny, he did not live up to that song at all. I felt sad for him. I thought Adam stole the show once again, but Allison was really good too. Cannot wait to see who is left standing after tonight!
greys anatomy spoiler
George and Izzy were never pronounced dead so by next season they could be saved. They were only half way to heaven. What a cliff hanger.

Design Star - warning West Coasters: spoiler
Did anybody ever doubt it would be Kim? Woohoo!!!
Anyone who has just finished school
would be more apt to pass the CMT test. However, to say that would eliminate "toilet errors" is not the way I see it. Someone with a lot of years experience in this field is just as good as a CMT if not better. Passing a test and putting initials after your name means nothing when it comes to work ethic, discipline, and experience. I just think if you have 9 years of experience, you are going to be just as attractive as someone with a CMT. It seems to me companies or physicians seek well-rounded MTs that have experience in quite a few specialties as opposed to having CMT after your name. I am not so sure physicians are aware of this testing process, but the Nationals seem to have bitten on it, but I'm not so sure it gets you any more money. I've read posts where it does not gain you anything more than something else to put on the resume. If you want to become more attractive, then I'd say branch out into more specialties or may be even take a business course to expand your knowledge. CMT, in my opinion, is a waste of money especially when you have verbatim accounts and the client is always right, no matter what "the books" or for that matter AAMT has to say about the way it should be done. Just another opinion.
I have never finished a beverage to the end of it.
Finished- burp.......................

I just finished a book by
Mary Kay Andrews entitled Savannah Breeze. Great book! The next one I will read is Savannah Blues (same author).
No I haven't finished it yet, but I will ...sm
post my thoughts when I do.
I read it...UGH. I only finished it
because I felt I had to in order to maybe reap some benefit from it and form my own opinion. It didn't do a thing for me at all, can't understand all the glowing reviews and accolades. It really was a chore to get through, IMHO.
Just finished my shift...sm
Hi SAM! It felt like such a loooong shift with all the tough dictators. But that is behind me now. Weatherwise, we hit 70 degrees once so far, now back down to the low 50s. I love how the days are getting longer. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Harry F. Truman and Jimmy Carter were both Southern Baptists...sm
when they were presidents of the US...ergo Christian denomination.
Bringing Lost discussion up to top of board (major spoiler alert)
Okay, all you "Lost" fanatics, what are your theories now, and how have they changed? Who or what is Jacob? How did the "original inhabitants" of the island get there? They are mostly Caucasians with American accents, with a few exceptions. They don't look like the usual types of people who are native inhabitants of Polynesian islands - if, indeed, that is where the island is.
Why were Jack and Juliet keeping secrets from the rest of the group? If they had been honest and up front from the beginning about Juliet, maybe they could have all figured out a way to foil Ben's plans without bloodshed.
And will the island heal Locke? Obviously he is of major importance - I don't think Ben heard Jacob at all, and he was jealous and afraid when he realized Locke heard him. That's why he shot him. Ben is turning out to be an even bigger weasel than before.
And what exactly was the Dharma Initiative studying? Does Ben really know? After all, he was only a "work man" like his father.
For every answer, there are a dozen new questions - at least!
Getting new hardwood floors. They are going to put down pre-finished. (sm)
I haven't picked out style and colors yet. I know I don't want really dark or really light, but there are sure a lot of variations in between. Different size planks too. Anyone had good/bad experiences with the prefinished ones?
I just finished it last night after I got done work - sm
stayed up until 2 reading. I figured out some of it before it was revealed in the book. I loved it too. I know everyone is happy here that I am done, I would not let anyone near the book because they kept threatening to read the last chapter and spoil it for me.
Hey, I just finished making him tostada
a while ago, Slim in bed snoring away, I have the house all to myself, he came in after a long hard day at his new job....Couldn't let the boy go hungry now could I. He shared his cheese and wine with me, then the gang came in, drat!! He is a real cool guy. His wife will be arriving from Brazil in two weeks. He hopes to have their apartment set up by then, not too far down the road from us....
I'm SO finished with the stock market! As soon as my
I'd rather have a little money that I know I can keep, than tons of *fake*, on-paper money that I could lose the next time some a$$hole decides to fly a jet into a building.
Nope, I'm FINISHED! Even back when - sm
I was making a little money in the market, what little profit I made was taxed much more heavily than my regular job money. Not to mention all the extr forms and headache at tax-time, as well. Not worth it for the 'little guy', even when the market IS going up. But after all the dishonesty and stock-tweeking that's been unearthed and brought to light in the past year or two, I'm through with it. I'd rather have less cash-money that I know I can keep, than lots of 'funny-money' that only exits on paper, and can disappear at a moment's notice. I'm not wasting any more of my hard-earned money to make a bunch of crooks rich.
yippee, whoohoo -- just finished my taxes!!!
talk about procrastination...dang! down to the last minute, i'm still trying to gather up last year's paperwork. then, about had a panic attack as i was finishing up, wondering, what if i get audited? just glad it's done, i think.
This is my fear also . . .
10-15 years from now they will find some horrible side effect.
re: fear
The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.
Psalm 121:5-8
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
re: fear
Fear is a tool that satan uses to keep us from doing what God is calling us to do. It is also actually sin cause it shows our lack of trust in the Lord. I'm not saying it will be easy to let him go, just that God will comfort you when you trust in Him....
Lovin Jesus,
Jan
why fear it when you won't know it??
:) I am about to turn 28 and I am already losing mine... I know I'm going to get Alzheimer's and that makes me SAD (SUPER sad), but im not afraid of it...
a little fear
can be a good thing, like pain...it tells you something is wrong.
There's a book called "The Gift of Fear," written by Gavin DeBecker. This is from the book jacket: "True fear is often a signal that can save your life. Are you listening?..." This is from the publisher of the book: "Through dozens of compelling examples from his own career, security expert Gavin deBecker teaches readers how to read the signs of impending danger by using their most basic--but often most discouraged--survival skill: intuition. This book provides a unique combination of practical guidance on leading a safer life and profound insight into human behavior."
BTW, I've read that one of the worst things women do (I'm totally guilty of this) is to sit in the car after coming from the store or post office or wherever, reading mail & balancing checkbooks while sitting in a parked car...perfect opportunity for some slimeball.
You did the right thing: Trusted your gut.
d.
I just finished her book, "We're just like you, only prettier." sm
Some easy reading, funny stuff.
Right now I'm reading Ann Rule's "Worth More Dead." She is a great writer, but I need to read light things once in awhile to cleanse the palate, so to speak.
If no fear, then what exactly is there to be 'against'?
X
I bet then he sensed his fear
Dogs can sense that a mile away. I know mine can. whenever anyone comes over that is nervous about dogs, the dogs wanna hang all over them and like double sniff them. LOL
my worst fear right now is that even
if I have cash in my hand, it will be worthless, and might as well use it as TP.
not one single fear
zero, zip, zilch, nada...
we are born with two fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. the rest we create or obtain on our own later in life. me: none, other than the two i was born with.
I got married out of fear. Then (sm)
I stayed married out of fear. Then he bought me a GPS and now I'm adventurous. Not being able to navigate was one of my biggest fears. Another fear was not having money. The way he spent our money, we never had any anyway.
that has always been a fear of mine..
that I would spill the grape juice or something.. I always feel like I'm soooo shaky with those little glasses..
your fear should not hold him back.
I understand your feelings, but this seems like a completely reasonable and good trip being planned, one that could mold his mind/heart for his future. Your son could make a very positive difference in many others lives. If you haven't already, learn to trust God.
I understand your fear! I have three sons between
17 and 20 years old. Now and then they talk about enlisting, and of course I worry about the draft. For selfish reasons, I want them always to stay close to home, where it seems to be safe. But it's a very high calling to serve one's country, and I would support that decision if my sons decided upon it. If the draft were brought back, I'd be terrified. I do not support this war. I don't think it was the right thing to do. But I do support the people who serve and respect their decisions and am incredibly grateful to them for their sacrifices. I will also continue to support them by doing whatever I can, small though it may be, to help bring them home AND keep peace for us all. I wish it were a simple thing.
As for our children, the fact is, once they are 18, they can make the decision to join without our consent. Talk to each other, love her and appreciate her. If she decides to serve her country, you do not want to part in anger, and trust me, you will want to support her in any way you can.
I think that's probably a common and rational fear (sm)
I can't stand it and I imagine most people, especially females, but also males, don't like it either.
