i think blaming birth control on weight gain is cop out. it may cause you to CRAVE certian foods or have the urge to eat more but i don't understand how the drug itself would cause one to add actual fat weight. Maybe fluid retention?

I graduated from college, then once I started working I paid it, and a reasonable rent to them, plus a car payment. I didn't have much left after this (about $100 a month) but I lived. I am not going to buy my kids a car though I will have one at their disposal, and will either pay half or all their insurance. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it in 8 years.

Half a cup dry is 150 calories (I believe)
So one cup dry is 300 calories. Skim milk is 80-90 calories per cup, 45 calories per half cup, etc. Sugar is 15 calories per teaspoon.

Sounds like lowering calories
and getting a good variety of foods, not too high in carbs, might be the best diet choice for most people.
Trying to figure out oatmeal calories
I used a cup of oatmeals, added 1 and 3/4 cups of water, a little skim milk and a teaspoon of sugar- I know other calories but have yet to figure out the calorie count on the oatmeal.
Good for you but high in calories, so
you have to monitor yourself. It is difficult, I know.
I have the same trouble with cheese and dry roasted peanuts. If I buy them I tend to over eat them.
Diet pop is empty calories and crackers and some
...wheat breads will make you hungry faster. I'm strugglin' too and haven't made up my mind to start. All I'm comfy in are sweats.
