I don't know nuthin' about smokin'

but I just asked my husband, an ex-smoker, about why the filters could have been cut off. His guess is that they are perhaps "light" cigarettes and sometimes people cut off the filters to make them stronger because the filters are filled with little holes, thus making them "light." I have no idea.
Aside from being just plain bad for a person, aren't cigs expensive?! Where I am they are now over $5/pack! What makes a person start smoking anyway? Their friends? Is it for the buzz? Does one get a buzz from plain ol' tobacco? I'd be worried about it being a gateway substance, but then again I'm a paranoid tool who doesn't know much about such things.
I'd lay down the smack down hard on your kid, but then again I'm not a parent. Bye bye cell phone, time to get escorted places by mom or dad, and anything else you can get away with controlling until she is 18 and legally on her own. I knew honor-roll kids who snorted coke and they also snuck smokes in the bathroom, so high grades don't always account for angelic behavior. Actually, come to think of it, I think one of my high-school bad apples is in congress now or something acutally, so just forget everything I said!

Did ya ever just wanna talk about nuthin' just to talk?
As I said before in another post, I miss everyone so much...
So, I have absolutely NOTHING to talk about. Love my new job, love that spring is on the way, and I love that my belly is absolutely filled up with pancakes my husband kindly made for me just now...even though it's lunchtime and not breakfast. I'm one of those freaks that could eat breakfast-type foods at every meal.
...and that reminds me that it's almost that time of year to order some baby chicks for next month. Laying hens, not for meat or anything, just eggs and entertainment. I can't wait for warm weather--it's been a long HARSH winter this year. In fact, I think we're due for another ice storm at the end of the week.
I hope everyone who stops by to read my note about nothing finds themselves and their families in good health. Miss you all, even the ones that can't stand seeing that "Hayseed" name up there.
