He would probably get what he deserves better in prison - from the other prisoners, as long as they don't let him out!!

Good idea - I hate that children suffer (sm)
Because of their parents' behavior. If I just give them food at least I know the kids can eat!
For example, I have a lot of opinions and beliefs....do you want to send your child (or another chil
and let me tell them what I think is right and wrong and teach them however I see fit? Or do you think the child's parents have that right?
I am sorry you had to suffer through that, but SM
thank God the end result was worth it. My Uncle lost two wives, both to lung cancer and both heavy smokers. When my aunt died many years ago my uncle, who was a moderate to heavy smoker told my dad after listening to her at night in the bathroom retching for hours with the treatment for the lung cancer, that did it. He told my dad he would never pick another cigarette up, and to this day he has not. My aunt was always so fun loving and my cousins, her three sons, used to have more fun bringing their friends home and playing cards and laughing with my aunt and uncle than going out! My aunt always laughed at that. She was so proud!
Some time later my uncle married the second wife. We buried her three years ago this Thanksgiving. Thanks for your post. Wonderful for you!
From one allergy suffer to another...
My first allergist basically told me I was allergic to nearly everything, including my 4 cats, who I refused to get rid of. Another allergist looked at my results and gave me a different type of allergy test. It showed very severe allergies mostly to dust mites and a very, very small reaction to cats, but because my reaction was so strong to the dust mites it prevented the prick for cats being read correctly. I would try bathing the dog more often and using those wipes suggested by another poster. Using HEPA filters around the house (and especially in her bedroom) can really help with many allergens. You may want to try really aggressively altering the environment since you sound like you want to keep your dog. Good luck to you! :-)
Why so many criminals?
I'm watching a show called Caught on Tape right now. Probably no different than Cops, Lockup, and all those other crime shows. It is just amazing to me how many criminals are in this country. One guys wife was being robbed at a store and she was giving him the money but he wanted to still be violent with her and her husband said why? Why didn't he take the money and go? Why did he have to be so violent? I am just amazed at how many criminals there are in this country. I grew up in a small town in New England and my parents taught me to respect other people and other peoples stuff. Once when I was 7 years old I took some girls Barbie Doll and boy did I get it. I still remember the spanking, and I was more embarrassed from the shame my mom and dad said they felt towards me. Taught me a good lesson and I can still remember 40 years later how I felt. I just cannot understand why there are so many criminals. Why do they think they deserve something without working for it. Why do they think they can just take what other people have. And I'm not talking about all the other haneous (sp?) crimes that happen (murder, kidnap, etc). I don't get it and it makes me sad that I live in a society that is filled with these pieces of garbage.
I suffer from severe hot flashes that have been going on now for s/m
several years. I know hormone replacement therapy is very dangerous. I am about crazy with them as they have come back stronger than ever, every several minutes. This is life altering and I am not sleeping because of constant waking up all night long. I tried black cohosh some years ago at the suggestion of my gynecologist which in the beginning worked like a charm. Then I noticed it actually made them worse and more frequent, timing them to every 15 minues. Can someone please help with some suggestions that would actually help get back to somewhat of a normal life and sleeping pattern. Thanks in advance!
These kids will suffer tremendously sm
They are innocent children thrown into a horrible situation, why punish them and judge them? The poor things are still in an incubator on tubes, etc. Can you imagine even trying to "hold" 8 babies in one feeding, never mind one day. Of course the mom is wrong to have done this, and what was she thinking??? I would not harm one hair on these babies' heads. If they were a brood of puppies, they would be getting dog food donated from all over, so why not give something to these poor children? As for the Mom, she cannot be in her right mind. If you've ever been "without" as a child, you know what I'm talking about, it's a tough, hard road. I say give to the children if you can, something in the way of clothing, food, etc., just to get them through tough times. As for the mother, she doesn't deserve to be pampered, given money, etc., for anything that will promote her own selfish cause. Someone in the courts should be sure any monies or anything that can be exchanged for money should be strictly dealt with and harshly dealt with if she tries to spend one cent on herself. I say, "save the children" not the mother. I feel so bad for these babies I could cry. They need our help. I don't know what I'm going to do. I just wish I could take one in and give it a home, but I'm too old, they wouldn't let me. Or I would do it - today!! As for the older six, those poor kids don't have a chance, why punish them? It will be a zoo around there and they'll suffer greatly.
How log does your friend suffer from diabetes?
Diabetes is a devastating illness that destroys over time all organs in the body. Taking medicaments and later insulin injections can only slow down the destruction of the organs.
If I were you I would not blame the doctors.
WHAT?! Some of the worst criminals...
at least money-wise, as in stealing church money and money from little old ladies, are the big time evangelists on TV!! Do you think these people have "lack of God"?? I personally think it's lack of values/morals in this country (and other countries of course) that cause people to commit crimes, and of course lack of conscious! It has absolutely nothing to do with lack of God! I can't count how many times I've seen news reports where people commit a crime and everyone that knew them said what a great person they are and how shocked they were that they committed the crime - plus, a lot of these people go to church and actually believe in God and it still doesn't phase them to commit the crimes. I don't know, maybe it's because they believe in God that makes them think God will save them or forgive them, so it's okay to commit the crimes?? I'm not an atheist, I just live in the same town at Pat Roberts and where that whole network of his is located and I'm sick of these people living like kings with their multi-milliion dollar homes, helicopters, vacation homes, etc., while there are people in our country that are homeless, without insurance, and starving - I'm sorry but I don't think this is the Christian way to behave and I'm sick of people saying that God is the answer to everything! I really don't think this has anything to do with why these people commit crimes.
THey need love before becoming criminals, not
x
Yeah, well the criminals obviously know how much they pay too. sm
I can't tell you how much stuff has been stolen from our property (ALL METAL) and sold for scrap metal. It literally disgusts me. I hate that business.
If you suffer from lower back pain
or arthritis like me, you may want to try the SALONPAS pain relieving patch. Works great! Relatively inexpensive. Comes in different sizes. Right before it rains, I often get horrible arthritis related lower back pain problems. I put on the patch and I am able to type almost pain free. If you can not find it in your local pharmacy, your may want to look it up online. Made by Hisamitsu Parmaceutical Co. Best patch/pain reliever I have tried.
Your neighbors should suffer some sort of consequences... SM
for how they've treated their dog!!!! And let me tell you, it's not just rednecks or trashy people. My ex-in-laws, a very wealthy couple who were known throughout their church and community as giving and loving people would go out of town and leave their dog chained up in the backyard for weeks at a time. They'd just leave a whole bag of dog food for the poor animal and lots of water. They wouldn't even ask anyone to come over and check on the poor thing! We lived in another state at the time and I continually threatened to call animal control on them but my now ex-husband would beg me not to get his dad in trouble and would always call one of their neighbors to check up on the dog.
After one of their trips, the dog disappeared never to be seen again. She was a beautiful white shepherd. They had the audacity to call me and my ex up and cry on the phone about how awful it was and expected me to sympathize with them! I just simply said, that dog probably got herself loose and ran for her life. I hope she's found a new home with better owners!
Then they went and got another german shepherd and didn't take care of her. We moved in next door to them (never be your in-laws' neighbor, it's just like on Everybody Loves Raymond!) and I ended up taking care of this poor dog because once again they were never home. Then the dog was sick and in pain and could hardly move around and I told them repeatedly she needed to go to the vet. Did they ever take her? NO! I had to scrape together the money and take that poor dog to the vet to find out she was anemic and had bone cancer. It was suggested that because she was in so much pain she should be euthanized. My ex-husband didn't think we should make that decision cause she wasn't ours. So when we told my in-laws, they broke down crying and said they didn't believe in euthanization and could bare to part with their beloved Ruthie! WHAT!!?!?!?
So they let the dog suffer until I called the humane society on them. So you see there are just people in this world that don't deserve to have the unconditional love a pet. Those people deserve to be chained up in their backyards for a few days with warm, nasty, days old water and dog food. See how they like it!!!
I'm glad your situation was resolved, but I would keep an eye on your neighbors though.
Anyway, I'm an animal lover too and I just can't stand to see an animal suffer. I would have cried right along with you.
criminals need love too...probably didn't get enough
maybe, perhaps........
Criminals should be divided into groups SM
according to crimes committed. Nonviolent or violent. To place nonviolent drug-related crime people in prisons with hard-core inmates is crazy. First time felons need rehab. Prisons are just making it worse. Ever see shows about prisons in Europe? Sheesh, like night and day.
By the way, I've never been to prison in my life and neither has anyone I know.
just a thought-all criminals have family and friends
All criminals/bad people do have people and family and friends in their lives who love them. Does not make those people, the family and friends who love them, criminals.............
tougher? why? so we can leave less room for the real criminals
in jail? yes, let's put all the garden tools in jail and let the child molesters and rapists run free. Great idea.
No. I believe she should die in that prison bed.
We gave as much tolerance as possible by letting her live, which - in my opinion - would have solved this whole situation years ago.
She is free to execute herself if she wishes.
I don't care if she is different, saved, rehabilitated. It does not excuse her hideous crime. She is there because she put herself there.
JMHO
do you think that is what happens in prison?
uh...
if that was the real case, that would be worse, but that's NOT the case
Well when I worked at a prison...
The first week I worked there (in 1990) we had a lockdown because the prisoners were rioting and throwing their TVs off the catwalks onto the guards below. The riot was because the warden had temporarily taken away their cable programming. The whole block had to be tear gassed before they calmed down.
You really need to educate yourself on prisoner's conditions and rights - you don't have a realistic idea of what incarceration is like.
Jail/Prison
My BIL has been in and out of jail many, many times. He always says it's much better on the INSIDE than on the outside.
Let's see...they don't have to work, yet they get fed, a bed, clothing. They don't do their own laundry, yet they have clean clothes and linens. They get cable TV, take college classes, eat 3 squares a day, work out and get buffed up...so they can riot and overpower the guards, play cards, basketball, make phone calls...all at our expense!
Yeah, poor prisoners...they sure do have it tuff...
First castration without anesthetic...then prison.
But that's just me.
Joey, have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
You know how you can tell a GREAT movie? When, even if you have the video with no commercial interruptions, if you're flickin' on regular 'ol TV and it's playing, you will stop and watch it...complete with editing for time and commercials. Airplane is one of those movies I will stop my flick-fest and actually sit down to watch and laugh every single time.
Same goes for all the Leslie Nillson Naked Gun flicks and pretty much any parody. Oh my gosh, LOVED Hot Shots with that older Bridges guy!
....I'm feeling a liquored-up comedy movie marathon coming up real soon!
Hope he becomes someone's wife in prison. nm.

This is why I despised working in a prison
That ridiculous non-fraternization rule. It also applied to non-guards (I was a clerk in the business office). I was supposed to report to the warden if an ex-con even said hello passing by in a grocery store, I was supposed to be psychic and know who every ex-con in the state was, and if they happened to be an old friend I hadn't seen in 20 years I was supposed to snub them and run away, even if neither of us knew the other's situation until halfway through the conversation. If I didn't fill out paperwork and send it to the warden to report every single innocuous contact, my job was in jeopardy. IMO, there's a difference between becoming best friends with a con with friends still inside, and just living your freaking life in a community where there are bound to be cons here and there, and they happen to speak politely to you when you bump elbows!
Anyone had a relationship with a person in jailr or prison?
Is it someone you knew or have you gotten to know them since they went to prison? Do you write them or visit?
no problem-prison inmates will kill him....
Martha didnt know how to stay out of prison. Why

Help. I have made my own prison. Please make suggestions sm
I will try to make this brief. I have marital problems, husband is gone all the time. I came to work at home again because I have no help with our children. I need to be here if they are sick and be here when they get home from school. But I have become once again socially isolated (I did this type of work for years and had a job outside of the home and enjoyed it, except for the fact that my children did not get enough attention, so I quit). I do have friends but I don't see them or talk to them often enough anymore. I used to walk several miles a day but never do that anymore, have gained weight, eat junk food, stay on the computer too long. I am constantly busy. I still do volunteer work with my children - Scouts, church, etc., but I am so overwhelmed. My husband is almost never here. It almost feels more like he comes to visit us sometimes than actually lives here, but I need his help financially and my son is very afraid for me to get a divorce (long story, but he is afraid he would have to live part-time with his dad, and they are not close). I have debt that my husband doesn't know about and would be extremely angry over. I can't sleep because of this. But he won't give me money for things we need, so I have often ended up charging things. When I tell him I need more money he tells me things like, "turn off the cable TV" or don't go out to eat. The thing is he spends lots and lots of money on entertaining himself. He makes 3 x as much as I do (or maybe 4 by now). I have not been allowed to open his mail for years and we pretty much never talk. I have started to allow things to pile up, mail around my desk, weight around my middle, clutter here and there. I just feel like a big slug. I am tired much of the time. In reading this I sound depressed but I am already taking an antidepressant which I started a few years ago because of my marriage. I love my children so dearly but I am afraid of leaving and disrupting their lives. If I left I would at least get my part of the equity in our home, etc., and maybe have a chance at having a life again. Anyway, I know this is long and rambling and jumbled, but I just woke up, from another night of poor sleep. Please suggest what you would do. Thanks
OJ SIMPSON GOT 15-16 YEARS IN STATE PRISON
for the Nevada crimes. I bet the Goldman's are jumping for joy.
As a civilized society, life in prison without parole

I say that all the guys go and just keep the
ladies. I am so not liking the guys this time. Have watched it every single year and there is not a single solid 100% guy there this year. Hoping the girls will do better??? They have the guys beat every which away. There is really no competition here.
are you guys serious????
having a garage door open during the day on a nice day I would hardly call that out of the ordinary or stupid...once again, conversation taken out of context...
Thanks you guys
I only have Wal-Mart here and have not seen it there, but don't go often because they infuriate me. For Prell, I guess I'll suck it up and drive on over there and check. I miss cork too. I miss soda bottles that you returned to the store (when we were broke we just went to the garage and loaded them up and there we were, had enough cash to buy food until payday). Then we had more money and our son did the same so he had cash for things kids have to have, like popsicles and more soda, maybe a slingshot or a pack of beebees for his air gun. Now, it is sad there are only cans and bottles that are worth nothing in this state, we just leave them out to recycle. Big woop. Kids hardly ever have air guns anymore and you can't trust anyone so don't let your kids walk to the store to take back the bottles to buy popsicles. I can't wait to get some Prell! It is like insurance against color grab on the ends of your hair! All you do is shampoo it up on the ends and let it sit awhile and then rinse. Even color comes back most of the time. It smells like my mom too. Sigh. Have you noticed that there are 80 gazillion types of shampoo on the rack at the grocery store sometimes and none that you want? I still say to try that got2B brand shampoo called Squeaky Clean. It smells like heaven and makes your hair clean for two days and shiny too. I am really into that shampoo and magic erasers. They are two of the few things left that are really useful. It is sad to be so old that Magic Erasers sponges turn you on admission. I guess it beats the alternative to being old. Oh cute, I have the TV on the news and there is a pig named Broccoli who fell into a pool in Tracy, California and the firemen had to get him out. He is so cute! He is black and white and VERY BIG. Hayseed needs to see this. Broccoli's owner is petting him and he is so glad to be alive and saved from drowning! Maybe we need to get ourselves a pig. They look really friendly and smart. Maybe we could teach them how to type. My friend has an English bulldog who skateboards like the one on Youtube. His name is Meat. He is a sweetie, but ate a whole couch once when they went to the store. I guess I will stick to smaller dogs and check out the CC&Rs here in case I get a pig too.
Thank you guys
for such encouraging words. I sat in on the consult today with the doctor. They are going to keep my friend in the hospital for eight to ten days under observation, but they feel he will be fine.
Guys are just different than us
Some guys are just more aroused in the morning than at night. If I wanted sex (morning or evening) like you are saying you want, I would not mind either time. I know you are probably young and cannot understand this, but there are a lot of people who have absolutely no sex, and I am one of those- not by choice, but my husband has erectile dysfunction because of diabetes and high blood pressure. He has tried so many things he has read about, not like he does not want to- I am in his corner come hel. or high water because I love him so much. We have closeness and I cherish him beyond words. I probably would say not having been married a year, you or both of you need some kind of counseling in order to work through the problems that are coming through. Just being together a year, you should still be in the honeymoon period. Starving yourself, let me say this- a guy does not care if you are skinny or heavy in the bed, they only care about 1 thing and it is not a figure or lack of. I was married the first time, no organism and finally reached 1 with the 2nd marriage. People do not climax each and every time- some people do continuously, everyone different.
old guys
This is so funny. And yes it does sound like a Marine. I can just picture my step-dad saying these very words and he served in the Marines in Nam. Thanks for the smile!
Thanks guys!
Well you guys made me feel a little better. At least I know I am not the only one. Funny thing is we are both very young, he is 29 and I am 26 and we have been married for only a year. I thought we should still be super hot for each other right? Oh well, it is not me, it is him. The things women have to put up with.
ok,you guys, I had 3 of these and one
girl. I do remember people always saying girls matured earlier, and in some ways that is true. But there was a study with MRI's that definitely showed a lack of frontal lobe growth in boys until much later than girls. Don't worry, they will all be humanoid again in their 30's! LOL
Thanks guys
for all the helpful hints. I think you are right. The bottom of my thigh touches right at the chair edge. This is where I feel discomfort at times, and then my foot will fall asleep. I think I am going to try some of your ideas and see if it helps. It is just so darn uncomfortable and it totally drains me. I am exhausted at the end of my shift, more so than just transcribing. Thanks Again!
Thanks, you guys.
I appreciate all of your support, everyone. Do you sometimes feel like you're walking around with a big red D on your forehead? I do. My own church kicked me off the music team because "divorce is a sin, and God hates divorce." That has been harder on me than the divorce itself is. The ex still attends that church, and everybody feels "so sorry for him" because mean ol' me left him. They don't know the reasons I left, and I will never tell them....but believe me, they are Biblical reasons. It's gotten to where I hesitate to tell anyone at any church I visit that I'm divorced! Another thing, how do you cope with the fact that your long time friends (who are all still married) suddenly act like you have the plague? Maybe I'm being too sensitive. I'm sure you're right....it will get better with time.
Wow guys
wonderful responses and so quickly. I hope we can keep this thread going to help each other out. I wrote down these ideas and am going to start implementing many of them right away. Here are some of my ideas:
1. Utilities - We had 2 cell phones, got rid of one, which was mine, and I hardly ever used it. My husband has to have his because we run our own business. We had 2 house lines, one for our house phone and one for a fax machine. We got rid of one line, and kept the fax line, converting it to accept phone calls as well as faxes.
2. We heat our house with corn which in Northwest Indiana is a pretty cheap way to go. It will cost us approximatey $600.00 to heat our 2600 sq ft house for the winter. We would normally pay almost $450.00 a month with our heat and electric if we paid or electric company who has a monopoly in this area; no where else to go. :-(
3. I used to throw a load or two of laundry in every day, no matter how big the load (I have an energy efficient washer), to save time and so the laundry did not pile up. However, I realized that I was wasting soap, softner, and water even though I have an energy efficient washer. So, I am doing laundry only 2 days a week, maybe three if need be. Washing bigger loads at a time.
4. In regards to above, I use my dryer as a time management issue, because I run the office of our business during the day and transcribe at night. I think I will implement hanging my clothes out next summer, because I do not think it would be efficent in the winter right now - - would it?
5. I buy all snack foods at Aldi's. You save $1.00 to $1.50 an item. I shop at the most least expensive store in the area when possible, only shopping at the higher-priced stores if there is a sale.
6. Turn off lights, computer, etc., when not in use.
7. I buy my cleaning supplies and laundry supplies at our area dollar store. They carry name-brand items as well as generic-brand, but quite a bit cheaper.
I am brain dead now. I am sure there are many more.
Please keep them coming. There were many things that you guys mentioned that I never even thought of, and I am sure we can give each other good ideas to implement. I feel we are in a war here, and we need all the ammunition we can get as we carry out our role as our home managers :-)
Thank you guys so much for your
We really appreciate the support.
I wanted to share a picture of Chewy with you . . . I had wanted to get a picture of the five of them, all lined up getting treats from Daddy, heads turning in unison watching his every move . . .
Where are you guys?...
I have a vacant house in Port Orchard and wonder if I need to be concerned.
Thanks you guys. I can't tell you how much I appreciate
this place and the ability to vent and have you guys listen unconditionally. And thank you for being so kind with your advice. I know what I did wasn't good and almost immediately regretted it. But you all are right, what's done is done, and I should just focus on my family and friends who do want to be part of our lives.
Just a followup, in case everyone was wondering about reaction to my email, I've received two responses. One from a daughter-in-law of my FIL's wife who offered her ear and her prayers and also told me that she has always wanted to say the same things. The other response I received was basically "shame on you for airing your dirty laundry" and told me I sounded like a bitter disturbed person which I guess I am. For right now anyway.
Thanks again, you guys are the best!
I think guys like this should be PUT DOWN.
Come on, you guys....sm
Please review the annals of crime. You'll find plenty of horrendous crimes that have been committed by women.
This one thread has two very sexist remarks in it. One poster signed in "what is it with men, anyway", and this poster opines that women would not commit crimes like the subject of this thread. As a male on the board, I find such remarks objectionable, and rather odd considering that the news has been rife in recent years with the Anthony story, female teachers being arrested for raping their students, and women being arrested for cruelty to animals. Before that, we had the woman who ran a boarding house for older men and poisoned them for their Social Security checks.
Please! You wouldn't tolerate this if it ran the other way.
you guys! that is exactly what i say.
i sure do. when you say up north, what do you mean? LOL. out west we use it too :)
haven't picked up on the ya'll. and even if i say it, it does not come with your cute accent. haha
plenty of people love your accent like you love English accents though! :)
