I do quilting

My most artistic quilt was one that I took photos from my husbands grandmother and relatives from the late 1800s early 1900s (his great great grandparents and their siblings). These are all black and white photos and in photoshop I made collages. Then printed the collages onto material and turned it into an heirloom quilt. I actually made it for my MIL, but my husband refused to let me give it to her because it is so beautiful. If I can ever get him to take photos I will post on the board. It has his favorite pictures in it. One is of his grandmother when she was maybe 3 years old and she is looking up at her grandfather laughing. The pictures are precious and one day I'd like to get it mounted to hang on a wall.

quilting

Once you get the quilt top basted together with the batting and backing, you can use your machine to do what is called "stitch in the ditch".  That is to go along the stitches you have already made on the top in order to secure the three layers together.  This is the easiest way for a beginner to finish off a quilt.

However, if you have large blocks this will not be enough to secure the quilt together.  In the case of a large block quilt, you could just stitch diagonally across the quilt top, diagonally through each block and then diagonally from the opposite direction to create a grid pattern.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to all. I think I will try hand quilting. Seems
xx
I forgot to say about quilting
I have made gifts for almost everyone I know but never sold anything. My mom told me a lot of money can be made if you have one of those large quilting machines.
