Facebook for me has been fun just
because I am now in contact with people I have not seen/heard from in years (I am 50). The people I run around with are all on it, but mostly we just play the games and take the tests (don't ask me why). Posting of photos is nice.
By the way, my daughter (who is 19) thinks it is stupid that all of us "older" people are on it. She did let me be her "friend," but I am not allowed to post anything stupid to her.
facebook
Anybody else think facebook is weird? Looking up people you have not seen and listing off personal stuff about yourself? It seems weird to pretend you know everyone so well, virtually, but not in reality.
Maybe try Facebook for this stuff. nm

If you have facebook and really liked Rose Flack (sm)
you can join a group on there to support her. It probably will not get her back on, but it would probably really make her feel better to see how many people supported her. So if you do have facebook and liked her, please join and forward an invite to your friends :)
Multiple Generations on Facebook
Both my adult children don't want me as their friend on facebook. I'm not sure if it's because they don't want me seeing their page and all their friends' pages, or if they just find it weird to be friends with their mommy. Either way, I only have a very select group of friends on my facebook page, and I still don't see the point of visiting it much. I'm only in my early 40's, but apparently my long-lost friends either want to stay that way or are too old for Facebook themselves.
But Twitter still totally confuses me. What is it *supposed* to do?
facebook dangerous in my mind sm
Friends invite friends who invite "friends only" until there are people from all over on what is supposed to be my "family space" according to one family member. Never place a full-face picture on there as they can lift it and put it on a phony license, etc. My son had his identity stolen, had to take time out of work, travel to the city where the crime was originated and go to court. My son is Caucasian, the other person was not, it was horrific! I also do not like other family members posting pics of me and my family on there at every family function under their "family and stuff" albums. I am so sick and tired of preaching - nobody listens, they love the attention, they post every move they are making during the day which to me is sooo ridiculous! I feel the same about Twitter and My Space. I vote hands down.
I like Facebook better, had a myspace page - sm
which I have since cancelled, was approached by a couple guys looking to hookup (one told me what a good lover he was-- yuck, what a turn-off especially coming from a complete stranger) which ticked me off as I clearly stated I was married, etc, then again that is probably why they contacted me. Told each of them off and never heard from them again for which I was glad. Cancelled my account soon after that. But got on Facebook a about 8 months ago and some old friend "found" me back in February and since then have gotten back in touch with about 30 people I grew up with, kind of cool, exchanged a few emails here and there. Just dug out some old class pics over the weekend and plan to post them there, ought to be funny, another girl dug out some, and I have found more so we all get a kick out of it.
Try Facebook, Twitter, My Space or those other blogs ..
They are usually on there, at least you'll know he's okay. You must be heartbroken. I have one whose wife plans busy plans every weekend with her mother and tribe, he has no say and he can't see us because he has to go to the in-laws. I wish he'd get a spine! When he does have time, he's blogging. We just wonder where we went wrong. We worked our a$$ off for him and the MIL never worked, so I am considered not so good of a mom by his wife because her mom stayed home and baked cookies, I was in the trenches with the troops. What good did it do me? I was just the working woman, bad in their eyes. I guess my main job was not that of a "good mother" because I worked. I see it as I worked in order to provide a good home for my family and I baked, cooked and cleaned as well, probably not as good, but not good enough. So tired of it! My friends say if they did come over he'd probably have to get nagged in the car afterwards. I wouldn't want that, I love him too much. They do break our hearts sometimes, part of the old saying, "A daughter for the rest of your life; a son until he takes a wife." My heart aches for you, really. I'd find him just to make sure he's okay and if he doesn't respond, it's his choice, at least you tried. Or just see if he's okay and let it go. Watch me get flamed now, that's all I need, I am heartbroken enough and I get flamed enough in person. I don't need that either, worked too hard all my life, for what?
Okay, ladies. I just joined facebook. My friend wanted me to sm
