I can't stand wearing a regular bra. I'd rather go without. LOL.

Re - bras and E-Bay
I have a neighbor that buys clothes, underwear and all from Nordstroms or the nicer stores, wears them a bit, knows how to put the tags back on (if she even takes them off) and then either sells on E-bay or returns then after wearing for a while. She is really weird. Buys nice dresses, wears once to the event and then back it goes. But when I learned what she was doing with bras, sleepwear and swimwear I told her she was absolutely nuts.
BRAS
I find this funny. Lighten up. My daughter wanted a bra at age 2, her grandmother bought her one, she wore it around the house once and then put it away. I still have it and she is 14. I don't think I will ever know why she wanted one, and I certainly would not have gotten her one, but MIL did to please the child. It would not hurt to buy those cute little matching crop/bras and panty sets for kids with the Disney stuff on them. It is just clothes or underclothes. Be thankful she wants to wear them and not running around naked. You got to know what battles to pick.
Have a son who is in sports too...
and i commonly have parents look at me and DH like we are crazy when we cheer for our team AND the opposing team BUT usually by the end of the season the other parents are doing the same. it is not about who wins or loses - it is about the kids having fun, learning something new, and being socialized and well rounded. not to mention, sooner or later your kids may fall together on the same team, class in school, etc. do you really want them not liking each other because of who their parents are. I'm sure you would think it unfair if your child was the one being looked at negatively because of who is mother is.
Happens with bras with me!! nm
xx
does he play sports?
Which sports does he like? Does he need equipment?
Wacoal bras....
are absolutely the best. They are high priced, start at about $45 and up, but worth it. I got mine at Nordstrom and will not settle for cheap bras! I also get Victoria Secret Ipex and Secret Embrace. Very comfy, believe it or not.
Sports are not boring.
They are meant to promote competition and fitness. I wonder though if we had a disaster that would require "fit" people to help bring others to safety, would we be able to call on the athletes? I wonder if there weren't enough soldiers or police/firemen, etc., could we count on some athletes? A lot of these organizations also help charity. I know this is kind of off the subject, but I love sports, so maybe that's why I feel the way I do. JMO. Thanks for asking.
I like to watch sports... sm
I like pro hockey and the NFL. But are they overpaid? OMG yes. I can't believe what some of those guys get to hit a ball or tackle somebody. It's insane. Not to mention the special treatment they get when they break the law. Anybody else would be sitting in jail for some of the stuff they get away with.
then there would be no professional sports (sm)
I think probably over 75% of athletes- way over, are using performance-enhancing drugs at a professional level in all sports. I think a lot of athletes do not even realize they are taking steriods or performance-enhancing drugs, they think they are *supplementing.* You cannot stay competitive otherwise, no matter your talent and skill level.
I compete at a pretty high level in two sports, softball and bodybuilding (my division is called figure/fitnes), and steroid use is rampant even at an amateur level. I am one step away from a pro card in fitness but I know I've gone as far as I can being natural. I also am a trainer, besides MT, and most of my athletes that leave for college tell me that they know they will have to come make a decision about this if they want to go as far as they can. I just try to keep them as educated as I can, knowledge is power, but I do think that to reach the top in an uneven playing field, well... it is very tough and a true shame.
Regardless of Barry's faults, there are many, lying and drug use both, he is truly one of our greatest ball players. That power and intensity may come from drug use. But that kind of true beautiful swing he has does not come from drugs, nor does discipline and determination.
This is a topic that leads to a good debate, that is for sure!
Wearing Bras
Yes, I just for the first time this year bought bras for my daughter. She seemed okay with it, but she's slightly overweight, so I felt this would be easier than buying T-shirts that are not long enough to tuck in. So, we went with the Sport Type kind that she seemed to like at first, and now I've noticed she's not wearing them. So, I asked her why, and she says she just forgets, which is highly possible, since it's only been since school started. I just feel better knowing she's wearing something, but of course, she was wearing T-shirts. So, what is one to do? I really do not see any harm in the bra. I am totally against having little girls dress beyond their age, but we're talking underclothes here, so if the child is comfortable, then just try one to see how she likes it. My daughter was kind of embarassed as it was actually my idea since I felt she needed something under her regular shirts, since they tend to be thin and unforgiving in her situation. Good luck to you, but I in no way, shape, or form believe that bra at 5 means thing at 10 and even if it does, so be it. I think a person has a right to a certain degree to wear the underclothes of their choice if any at all!
I just think there could be worse things that she is asking for at 5.
Can we talk about bras?
I am a 36-D...or so I think. The 36-part is okay, but the D-part is the problem. Any style of bra I try, I get the "muffin boobs" out the top and it drives me insane. A DD is too big...is there a size in between a D and a DD that I'm missing? Any particular brand that might fit better? Thanks y'all!
why are big bras on the bottom and
the cute little AA's on top. If I reach for the ones on the bottom, I may just keep going over, unable to stop myself!
Thanks! Bras are EXPENSIVE!! nm

Bras - NOrdstroms fitting
I never thought that I would pay this much for a bra - but I went to Nordstroms about 10 years ago to be fitted -- before it was on Oprah - and fell in love with them. I usually buy 3 bras at a time and they last me for at least 3 to 4 years. I tried some cheaper ones when I was going through my divorce taking the same size that Nordstrom's gave me and did not work. I do not have straps slipping, or tightness -- unless I gain weight. But they do know what they are doing and I now feel comfortable wearing a bra even in the hot weather. Oprah had a special on them with the type of bra that she wears and it was all true and I agreed with all of it as I had been through that experience before. To me a comfortable bra is more important than comfortable shoes.
Who finds sports boring?
*raising my hand*
If they are wearing bras at 5, it will be thongs at 10
makeup at 12, and birth control pills at 14. How about these unbelievable salon parties some of these mothers are doing for their 8 and 10 year old girls; taking all the girls to the salon to have the hair and makeup and nails done. Today, just about everyone is a ''wannabe''. I want to be rich; I want to be beautiful; I want to be famous; I want to have big boobs; I want perfect teeth. I want a nose job. I want to be thin. I want a designer handbag. I want a cell phone, an IPOD and a blackberry! Why, because everyone that matters is or does! Everyone they look up to. Everyone on TV! That is all they know.
Ask a group of very young girls today what they want to be when they grow up and see how many say, a singer, an actress, a movie star or just plain rich and famous in any way possible! It's terribly sad what this world has turned into. And some parents are just as bad because they want this for their children, also.
TV and media magazines should be banned; it's not only destroying the kids but adults also. How many of you feel your self-esteem lowering more and more by seeing all of this stuff? How many of you have contemplated plastic surgery, veneers, teeth whitening, losing weight, especially in the last ten years? How many of you suddenly are feeling bad or envious of others because you don't have that big gorgeous home or that expensive great car?
It's a horrible world we now live in and that's why I am not having children.
And don't tell me I don't know about children because I have two nieces and a nephew that I practically raised.
Good day ;)
My 10 year old, non-sports-oriented son is so sad! (sm)
He loves to skateboard and rollerblade, but has never cared at all about team sports. Now he is in the fifth grade and finds himself the minority. All his friends want to play soccer all the time or some other type of ball. He feels very left out - now when he tries to play with them he gets insulted for not being good, yelled out, etc. Today he is moping around because neither of his two good friends are available to play. I want to find some way to help him. Any ideas would be very appreciated.
I hated to pay for expensive bras as well
but it really is worth it I promise you. I have a black and a nude bra from VS. I went in for an actucal fitting and these bras have been wonderful. I don't think I will ever wear anything else. I know that you don't have to go to VS to get a good bra, but I had a gift certificate, and while I don't think that is what DH was expecting my to buy, it was totally worth it. Right now I am in the second year of both bras, just wash in the sink and hang dry which definitely helps keep them in shape. I am 38D so I really need plenty of support. It is almost time for new bras, but since you can tighten the straps as well as around as you go, they have made all the difference in the world. Like I said, you can get good quality bras at major department stores without spending what you would spend at VS, but just check into it. I promise you it will be worth it.
Underwear, bras? Only to leave the house.

Wait, there would be professional sports, just not at the level we see now, you know what I mean? nm

I love college and high school sports.
they make way too much money.
How about a good web site for an 11-year-old sports-crazed son??? nm

What the women wear or don't wear is not the
issue here. They can wear what they want. The issue is what is actually going on in the compound and the laws that are being broken.
Anyone out there with a college kid on a full scholarship, out of state, not playing sports???sm
If so, how did they get the scholarship/scholarships to go out of state? My junior wants to go out of state and I've told her that she has to find the money to go, especially since our state has a lottery paid college education program that pays tuition and some of the books/fees as long as a student keeps their grades at a B-average or higher. She is thinking about studying broadcasting. She has no special talents and doesn't do volunteer work or participate in anything but drama club...nothing to make her especially shine. She is an A/B student. We don't have the money for out of state tuition and even covering just the expenses that in-state lottery funded fees will be difficult but do-able if we can get her excited about one of the many state schools available.
Anyone have their child figure out how to do this?
I buy mine at Lane Bryant. Everything else I buy at Wal-Mart but they are the best for bras and fitt
nm.
I would play sports in high school; I would NOT be friends with 1 particular person. nm

A local mastectomy center might fit you for bras, too. Or a high-end lingerie store. nm

You can ask if it is small
enough to do without anesthesia, and hopefully your dentist has a good idea of the cavity's size and can judge that for you. Without anesthesia there is some heat and pressure and I guess there was slight pain.
Some dentists are extremely good at giving the shots and it's not bad at all.
I'm sorry you have your first cavity. I was in my 20s myself. Just don't wait on getting it fixed and you'll just have a small filling that hopefully won't give you any problems for 20 years or more.
Whatever you want to wear - sm
You are going to love the Lion King! When I went a couple years ago there were people in dresses and suits, but a lot of other people, including myself, in just a nicer outfit - slacks and a sweater. Some people were even in jeans.
I got some to wear in the car when
we went on vacation last summer. They were great. I could actually work and not hear anything else going on in the car. However, I never use them at home because they are SOO big. I have my favorite pair that I wear, but when they wear out, I guess I will be wearing my expensive BIG ones! They do work, though
what to wear?
Need a bit of help. I am a full-figured woman (26) and have been invited to a fancy, fancy wedding. What am I going to wear? I do not wear skirts or dresses. I have looked online for plus size fancy occasion pant sets but cannot find anything that looks good. They all look real cheap. For this affair the cost of an outfit will be no problem. I just need advise/help on finding something. Probably need size 26/28 as I would rather get bigger than smaller and then have it tailored.
There is no way I would wear the one ...sm
with the jewelry hanging from it. That irks me. I just want to grab the thing and jerk it off. LOL. The one with the crystals in the contact lense without the thing hanging I think is cool.
yes some did wear them
My mom used to tell me about it. I was not born then either. She actually had one. The underskirt is something like the slip they wear under a square dance dress, they are made of very stiff tulle/mesh.
Mom said they get that stiff because they would spray them with spray starch/sugar water and hang them to dry.
The most of the poodle skirts you will see now are made of felt. You can get a pattern for it in the Halloween catalog for the major pattern companies. Look on line for McCall or Simplicity.
You should wear them...
I'm sure she'd be glad you liked keeping her close at heart and also you probably look very beautiful in them and she would be glad you are enjoying these earthly things that she took the time to purchase. Just remember, life is too short, and the jokes about "giving me that jacket" were showing how much you loved her taste in apparel, so why not wear them and know that your sister would have thought you look great in them! JMO.
I would wear them - sm
When my mom died I took about 80% of her clothes. Right now I cannot fit into them but we were the same height, though she weighed about 10 pounds less. But I can easily wear all her shirts and dresses...once I lose some weight, put on 35 pounds after she died. It makes me feel good to have her stuff and some of the smaller tops I have given to my daughters who are thrilled to have a little bit of grandma with them.
That's why I don't wear them
Too expensive and too restrictive, but I'm small enough to get away with it.
What about her 2 small children?
That is what really bugs me about her and her behavior. What kind of role model is this for her children?? Just irks me to death what she has been doing. I do not care that she has a nanny or someone watching those kids. Why did she have them????? if all she wanted to do was party and act like a spoiled brat?
For that small amount, can't you take
xx
We have a small one and really enjoy it.
I don't think the taste is affected at all.
Small prime rib
Go onto Food Network and see this recipe Prime Rib with Shoe String Fries with Cabrales Blue Cheese Dip by Bobby Flay. I followed the Prime Rib and it was wonderful. I did put some crushed garlic on the outside as well as the garlic pieces inside. Got more compliments from my guests.
Good luck
No it's not really. Small prey will set
off the prey drive in some dogs, and it's often a breed trait. But all dogs should be socialized to children. While cats should be kept inside IMO, the dogs shouldn't be running loose either, and the dogs are upsetting the balance that had previously existed. The parents obviously aren't set up to contain dogs. So the dog owner should offer to put up a fence that will contain her dogs (and those underground electrical fences won't work due to the cats being able to enter the area). If she can't do that or the parents don't want a fence, then she is very, very wrong to be dropping her dogs off at her parent's house. She's responsible for the dogs, not her parents.
Small Pleasures....
ok, let's have a positive poll for a new perspective here!
What little thing do you do that brightens your day, whether it's every day or just when you can? A favorite routine, a little touch of color at your desk, whatever.
Small world -
I actually grew up in the village of Catskill. I lived in Albany for a while, but am now near Rochester. Very cool.
Unfortunately the towers are too small
for the big cat and I just can't imagine building him a custom play tower. It would take up the whole living room!! I do have this thing that is like a pole with a bunch of arms sticking out with little balls tied to them. They love that.
Even if I started out small
do you think I would need all that legal stuff - licenses, health inspections? At first I was hoping to make money "under the table" so to speak. I don't want to be a large corporation because it would be just me baking so don't think I could handle that much.
Really small world.
I have friends who live in Cabot, one of whom I believe is the director of nurses at Children's.

I would call and speak to the principal directly about what you heard. You can do this anonymous if you want, just don't use your phone as they very often have caller id now. I think it is up to the principal to decide if the comments of your child/friends have any merit. The principal should have ALL information and he/she should go from there. To me, my first and foremost priority would be my child. As for this child being falsely accused of something...well...maybe his parents should have taught him to be prepared to deal with the possible consequences of his actions. All kids make mistakes but sooner or later this individual will have to answer for his remarks and take responsibilty for himself - from my point of view, the sooner the better. I would definitely want to know if my child was speaking to others in this manner. I would not want to jump to conclusions but if your gut feelings say to keep your child home from school, do it. Missing a couple days from school is not the end of the world and I am certain he will not be the only one.
