The house I am in now is 850 sq foot.  We only owe less than 9000 on it.  The loan we took out 8 years ago was 30K.  We have done some work on this house.  We replaced the floor in the kitchen, put new plumbing in the bathroom.  We may end up putting in new carpet because it rained last night, water got under the house and it is seeping through the floors.  We called our insurance company and waiting for their answers.   There are 4 of us living here, me, DH and two girls 5 yrs and 18 months.  We are crowded.  2 bedrooms and 1 bath and the one bath is what is the worst especially when my littlest one gets potty trained.

The house I am looking out is for sale by owner, they want 125k.  It is 1600 sq foot, 3 bed, 2 bath, brick, 2 car garage, shop outside, one little store building.  It even has a little office, the lady called it her sewing room, I would call it my office which would be nice because I am working in my living room.  The carpet is coming up in it.  I don’t like the way they painted the rooms so I would have to repaint.  I am afraid that 125k is a little high, I say that because there is another 3 bedroom, 2 bath house a block from us, built a year ago that has never been lived in for 135k.  The yard would need a fence by it and dh definitely would need a shop.  He likes to do woodwork and has lots of different saws. Then again, maybe real estate has gone up, I don’t know, maybe my house would be worth more now.    5 years ago that same house that I am looking at was for sale for 75k, another reason I think it is high.  The owner said he might consider a trade.

DH thinks we should put aside 300 per month in our ING savings just to see if we can afford the extra 300 a month we would be paying out to see if we can afford it first and if it is still available in 6 months then look into it some more as we figure our mortgage would be at least twice as much as it is now.  We only 333 a month now.   I don’t know if that makes since or not.  I am just getting antsy.
