I am a happy girl today- Dreams can come true.

A group of ladies has gone into rescuing animals. I have done the financial backing with my joy being able to get animals out of animal control places where they otherwise would be put down. I told the ladies I work with if they want to charge for the animals, have at it but my payment is the little lives saved. We have gone into this the right way, lady got incorporated, got license from the state and even in my state have to have agricutural license. This past Saturday we had our first animal fair at a feed store that was having a flea market for the day. We were successful in rehoming 6 dogs and 2 kitties. I am thrilled beyond belief. That means the more we rehome, the more I can make the trips to the so called shelters and pick them up.

That is true - and I LOVE that about him - but also want him to be happy (sm)
I want him to continue on his nonconformist path - we have had the talk about how sometimes being a nonconformist can be a lonely road on some days but that it can be worth it too. I also want him to seek out things he enjoys and have lots of friends though
Let us know how you are today, girl! Hopefully just the flu or a virus. nm

My baby girl is 9 months old today!!!!!!

Not true. Things are MUCH worse today
we didn't have nearly as many shootings and crazy things going on 20 years ago and it's not because we didn't have access to the media/cable TV stations etc, back then, it just wasn't happening like it is today. I don't know if it's the kids so much; I just think the world itself is extremely screwed up and too many things making people crazy. Couple that with society's obsession with wealth, status, looks, racism, etc., many people having no morals or faith, and it is makes for a very scary situation. Myself and many people I know (and I'm sure many I don't know) are deciding not to even bring children into this unpredictable and scary world. Can't even imagine another 20 years. It is very sad.
My baby girl graduated high school today!
I didn't cry a bit.  I'm saving that for August when I take her to college.  I'm so very proud of her - high honor roll all year.  What a fine young woman she's become!  Just needed to brag a bit!
take your happy pill today, did ya?...N_O_T....

regardless of the type of person ANS was......she still had people who loved her, had pain and misfortune in her life, grew up from nothing and tried to make something of herself, but had a type-A addictive personality...........MANY people are like that and you'd be surprised in one's own family how many people are like this...........

look in the mirror lately?  I wouldn't point a finger at anybody's life....we ALL have our stories, now don't we?

in this imperfect world, there are too many pointing fingers

judge not lest ye be judged (bibles all say this) and/or don't judge until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes..............

dreams
I've had that same dream about being back in school and can't remember my locker combination, my class schedule, anything! I'm panicking because I'm late to class...like that ever made me panic when I really was in HS. That's weird, I often wondered if anyone else had dreams like that.

To the OP, I dream about my ex-boyfriend all the time. I don't know what it means, I don't think about him or anything. Just some nights will dream that he's there and it's the first time I've seen him since we broke up (well over 20 years ago), but by the time I get to where he's at, he's gone...wish I did know what it meant.
dreams
Now that is weird! I have the same recurring dream about my locker in high school. It was on the third floor and I did sometimes have trouble going up and down the stairs in 5 minutes to get my stuff. Strange.  I have been told that being lost in the airport (which I also dream) is performance anxiety.
I have most of these same dreams, but
even worse for the bathroom dreams. None of the toilets have been flushed and they are too filthy to sit on. For some reason the stall walls only come waist high, so everybody can see you. Oh, and I have a recurrent showering dream where the shower is outside or in the middle of a room, and there are people around, quite offended that I'm naked.
Dreams (sm)
The post below got me thinking about dreams, especially since I have also dreamed about the teeth and forgetting my locker combination from high school!

And so I just found the neatest website that I thought I would share.

http://www.dreammoods.com/

"My Teeth Are Falling"

Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap.Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Other Perspectives

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.

According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.

It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.

Locker

To see or use a locker in your dream, signifies aspects of yourself which you have kept hidden inside. Consider what items and belongings are in the locker. In particular, to dream of a school locker, denotes hidden feelings, knowledge, and attitudes that you need to learn and/or acknowledge.

To dream that you cannot open a locker or that your forgot the combination, suggests that you are unsure of where you stand in a particular situation. You feel that you are on shaky ground. If you cannot find your locker, then it also symbolizes your insecurities about your role or position in a situation.

DREAMS

Dreams are a mystery to most of us.  I do know that when you dream of riding in the back seat of a car, it means you feel you do not have control of your life.  I know I dream I am driving from the back seat and having trouble reaching the pedals.

When I was married, I never dreamed of my husband.  I have been divorced for over 20 years (and never wanted to marry again).  I dream of my ex now, and they are wonderful dreams of him being all I wanted him to be...everything he wasn't.  He loves me more than anything in the world, and me him.  He is a wonderful father.  I am so happy, and when I wake up, I am crying.  I would rather dream of him the way he really was so I can be mad and not sad of what could have been if only....

I do not know why I dream of him this way.  Guess I never will.  I know dreams are our subconscious.  Of what I have no ideal.

Doesn't offend me to hear Happy Holidays, Happy Hannuka...sm
or any way someone wants to greet me. As a basic rule, people use the greeting most comfortable to the speaker. What does burn my butt is when someone tries to tell me that my comfortable greeting of "Merry Christmas" is not appropriate. To those who are not concerned with my comfort, I have no concern for theirs.

Merry Christmas to all.
Does anyone understand dreams?...

What does it mean if you have had dreams reflecting past events in your life?

For example:  Dreaming of old high schools boyfriends, things you had done with your children when they were little, memories of family members who have passed, etc.

For the past few weeks, this is what my dreams have consisted of and I was wondering if it meant anything in particular or not.

I have those exact same dreams...
I was once told that the teeth falling out had something to do with money, don't know exactly what but I certainly have not had a windfall.
These must be common dreams
I have the same ones with my teeth falling out and I'm always dreaming of being in school either forgetting my combination or not been able to find my classroom.

Anyone believe dreams have meaning?

I normally brush off bad dreams but this one was strange. My 8 year old daughter dreamed that I had a big snake behind me, she told me to run but I didn't believe her.  The snake came up and started choking me and as I was choking I told her that I could taste apple.

Have you ever thought that your child had a dream with a message for you?  I have an idea of what it might be about but I am wondering if I am making too much of it.

I believe that dreams have meaning...
I have had several dreams like that..I had a dream my best friend was pregnant again before she found out she was, and I had a dream later in the pregnancy that it was a boy and it was...always have strange dreams like that...I don't dream like this every night though...
You have just very vivid dreams and
are in an in-between-stage, not anymore fully awake, but not totally asleep yet, so you do not know if it is really happening or not.

If you are outside of the REM sleep stage (fully asleep), then one remembers one's dreams, only in the REM-stage one doesn't.

So, if somebody says that he/she never remembers his dreams, then his dreams are all in the REM-stage. Because everybody has dreams, always, because the brain does not come to a stop when we sleep, it works 24/7.

Sometimes my husband is half asleep and all of a sudden he asks me. 'Did the doorbell ring?' 'No,' I say, 'I didn't hear anything!'

I think more people than we think experience this.

Once the same happened to me:

I had a dream that somebody was running after me and I could not move. Then I woke up and realized it was a dream. What a relief!

Also not being able to scream happens a lot in one'e sleep.

These are just nightmares.

Forget about it.

If were you, I would stop the Xanax, though, this might contribute to this.
Also sleeping pills!
How cute! She is definitely living her dreams
in that picture, Ha!
all good dreams so far...hopefully they stay that way :)....nm

No bad dreams from TZ, but Kathy Griffith...sm
was with Anderson... better chance of a nightmare there than from Twilight Zone!! I like her, but she is scary smoetimes :-)
Yes, I believe dreams have some type of meaning sm
especially when you remember them.

You know the snake is a sign of the evil one! Is there someone in your life who is acting evil? That one would scare me and I would probably pray a lot more, even though I am not the "religious type".
I find TV people in my dreams and am tired of it. OC

Aquarians Rule!!!!! LOL
That little girl

For those of us who lived through the "British Invasion", or even if you didn't but saw replays of some of the groups singing, you would remember that the teen girls would scream and cry.  Cry.  Yes.  So when I saw that pitiful-looking little girl, I thought she was planted there sort of as a flashback to the British Invasion period.  If that was the reason, it did not work out well.  They should have had a group of them doing that.  As it was, it just made her look like she desperately needs a psychiatrist.

but did you notice how enthralled she was with Sanjaya?  that's why I think it is millions of little girls that age voting for him.

Just my thoughts.  My other thought is that AI seems to have run its course.

Go girl!
Go get 'em!!  You sound like you've got a good plan.  I wish you the very best of luck!
Girl, let me tell you...sm

My DH loves camping...I told him when he buys a luxury RV, then I'll go~~~maybe~~~ I'm more along the lines of a resort in Key West, now that's a vacation....and ABSOLUTELY NO WORKING...
Me too!...This girl does not...
sleep in an RV, tin can trailer or a tent, let alone on the ground! Hotels all the way for me...don't mind hiking, backpacking, etc...just give me a good room at the end of the day!
I could have been that little girl.
My mom had mental health issues, but back in the 1960s, no one talked about such things. Our house was a horrible mess, and I knew it. I had dirty clothes which were usually old hand-me downs from a cousin. It was really awful growing up. Right up until I was about 13 or so, I used to beg my mother to do "normal" things, like let me have friends over. It was always a disaster. I just didn't understand that she wasn't capable of being like other moms. Eventually, I stopped having friends over, learned to do my own laundry, and worked like crazy in our house to clean and cook. It was a small town, and everyone knew that I had taken on the role of woman-of-the-house. My friends' mothers would invite me over to give me a break and let me be a kid. I eventually stopped even trying to have them at my house. It was torture to even try.

What I'm saying is, let your daughter go to the party. As someone mentioned, you can offer to help. It's very likely that the little girl is painfully aware that her home life is different from her friends. It's not her fault that she lives the way she does. If she's anything like I was, more than anything, she needs friends and to have some normalcy in her life.
that little girl...
I feel for you and what you went through. I have a friend (almost 39 years) who was that girl and my mother encouraged our friendship even though I had doubts - peer pressure. Her mother had mental problems as did her step-father but what a great family. I was in situations and at the age of around 9 I knew it was not "normal" - don't get things in the mind..nothing going on in the family that was perverted!! It was just how they lived but they were such a loving family and I am proud to call Neva my friend as she has been for almost 40 years. I thank my mother that she never judged and still does not (I can be a pain in the ass) and found such a wonderful friend that will be my friend until the day I die. So mom's out there..there may be great friendships that will last for life - don't worry so about things unless need be!!!
Thanks! I owe you, girl!
I'm so proud to show off my new boy.

You go girl!
Man do I hate that phrase but guess it says it in this case.

Why do people always assume we have to be indebted to our parents/children for the rest of our lives. As we get older this is the time we are suppose to take care of ourselves, and for once in our lives think about ourselves. We raised our children, watched them grow from children into adults, put them through school, rooted (sp?) for them at their sports games, supported their ups and downs, watched them proudly at their wedding, or supported them if they decided to be with another person and not marry. We did everything for them. Now when we are at the age of retirement and want to take time for ourselves and think about ourselves for a change we are called selfish and are supposed to feel guilty?????? Give me a break! So who is going to take care of us when we need it? Retirement is the age of "me". That's not a selfish wish, it's what happens in life. Yes we are here to support our kids (emotionally - who are no longer kids), and financially if we can if they need it or if we want to slip them a $20 in their pocket from time to time for no reason, but I'm with the above poster. It's my golden years its now time for me! Life is about growing, knowing who we are, learning about ourselves. Society forces us to follow the bandwagon meaning...your born, you go to school, you graduate and get a job, you get married, have kids, watch your kids grow, retire and take time for yourself. Not once have I ever seen anything talking about getting to know oneselves before going and getting married to another. I do not believe we are born in life just to always take care of other people. We've given enough of ourselves to others. It's now time for me.
You go girl!
I agree with you 100%. Sterotypal stuff doesn't fly well with me either. I am 58 and I also listen to loud rock music, dance when I am cleaning, and read Elle and other more youthful magazines (saying that because they don't usually address my age group!). I say if you want to do it, do it! Feel better yet??
Your little girl - sm
I can't blame you about the bill. That was unconscionable to be so petty about the money. They're lucky their dog wasn't put down and they should know it.

About your daughter - I wouldn't dismiss out of hand getting her a dog. Not right away, of course, but after some time has passed. Let me explain.

I saw my sister attacked by a dog when I was five, and although I wasn't hurt myself, I was terrified for years and years of dogs, to the point where I wouldn't take a walk or ride my bike in an unknown neighborhood. It wasn't until after I was an adult and married and my husband talked me into getting a puppy that I lost my fear of dogs. Taking care of a dog from puppyhood can be the "magic cure" for your daughter's fear as she finds out that most dogs are friendly and loveable.

This also worked for our son, who was nine when we got our first puppy. He was so scared that he actually spent the afternoon in the garage rather than come into the house with Sam (who incidentally was a three month old golden retriever!). Now he owns his own dog and is considering going into veterinary medicine.

Good luck to you and your family. And I pray the owners of the dog that attacked your daughter have an "attack" of conscience and do the right thing by your family.
LOL you go girl!

Girl,
don't go away mad . . .
You GO Girl
Agree 100% with everything you say & stand for. Send me an e-mail & if you have PayPal I will send you some money for your rescue animals (I have 2 myself) right now.

Don't let ANYONE tell you animals are less important to the universe than children; NFW.
You GO, Girl!
I have been thinking about it a lot lately myself. It is very difficult. I've "quit" a couple of times myself, yet here I am, a smoker still.

I have been meaning to ask, are those of you on this board who were discussing group quitting following through? How's it going? Do you keep in touch/support each other through e-mails? Just curious because I haven't seen any discussion about it since the new year began and wishing you all good luck and success, and same for you XanaX!

(Kicking myself for not joining in with you guys!)
You go girl!!!!

Congrats and have fun!!!
