I'm so sorry for your loss - glad you made that for her though (sm)
and that you will get to keep it knowing how much she loved it and kept it close to her - very sweet memory for you.
I'm glad he made you smile...sm
He makes me smile every time I look at him. Here's another pic just to make your day...lol
Have you ever tried adding just a little
color in subtle highlights to thicken up the strands and give you texture? You don't want to change the color so far it dries it out too much, but just enough to giv it some texture. Then let the front grow out and sweep it from a side part across the forhead or straight up and then to the side, in a retro 1920s look. Something to play with. Try a flat iron and get your stylist to show you how to do the whispy flips out in multiple layers. A lot of it is just experiementation and finding out what your hair wants to do that's interesting.

adding the excitement back
I don't have any great advice - I'm no counselor - but, try reading "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks if you really want to make your marriage work. It's not great literature by any means, but it's a sweet little story about a man who realizes that his wife isn't in love with him anymore and they've fallen into that roomates routine and what he does for both of them to fall in love again. Falling in love is the exciting part. It's easy to miss that when you've been married a long time.
In my defense & adding to my confusion (sm)
The few times I have waited a couple of days and not contacted him, I get a message from him saying, "what's wrong? Is everything ok? I've usually heard from you by now!" So at that point, I resumed my regular contacting him first. Should I have just shifted the lead over to him at that point? Just curious what you think. This is all very educational for me - thanks!
All of the above is good, but adding 2 cents
If you are constantly checking on the birds, it will make them nervous. Think about what birds do in the wild for protection. If they lay a clutch of eggs, then they notice a snake hanging around, they will eat the eggs and abandon the nest until the snake goes away for good.
I did not read your other post so I don't know what bedding material you are using, but for my finches, I would go outside and find tall grass and tear off several hand fulls. I put some in the nest and some on the cage floor for the birds to carry to the nest.
My first egg laying experience was from an Indian finch who laid 11 eggs, sat them just fine, but the instant the first one hatched, both parents clung to the opposite side of the cage like some monster had invaded their home! I had to hand feed that baby every 45 minutes for the first 3 days! Oy, was I tired!
One thing to add to their diet is a boiled egg - crush the complete egg, shell and all, into small pieces. They get the protein from the egg and calcium from the shell. Sprinkle some shavings from the tops of brocolli on top.
Depending on what type of finches you have, they may need live worms for the protein. You can buy meal worms (more than 20% protein) at your local pet store pretty cheaply, but if you want to grow your own for free, write me (some people think it's disgusting, but these worms are very clean). There are other worms that are over 35% protein, but they are impossible to breed and expensive to have shipped, but the more exotic finches require them.
I really do suggest that you don't check on them so much. I also don't know what kind of nest you are using, but I highly recommend a wooden box hinged onto the back corner or side of the cage. You can lift the lid when you see both out of the box and it will disturb them less. If the nest has nothing around it to conceal it from the rest of the room (like a cup-style canary nest), it will be hard for them to settle down.
Write if you think of anything else you would like to know. I was a certified avian breeder and there were several difficult finches I was able to breed successfully.
For some reason, the last 2 days I have been adding

Reveling in adding a new bird to my life list
of birds I have seen - a red-breasted nuthatch - not common this far south - at my suet feeder when suddenly birds scattered and my resident Cooper's hawk almost hit the window in front of me. Don't think he scored this time.
I just keep checking my line count and adding up my money. Great job.

My family made home-made mozzarella,
and it was very good. I was pretty small at the time, so I don't remember the exact process, just that it was done pretty quickly, and a lot of milk was used.
I don't know if you'll save a lot of money making your own cheese. The cost of milk is very high, too, and you need a lot of milk to make cheese.
Don't know about cats. What about adding mayo or plain veggie oil to their food? Or butter? nm

I liked the green guy the way he used to be
I don't like him now. I can barely understand him. I really hated that commercial recently as I was shopping for car insurance. I walked into an agency and asked if they could save me money on car insurance (green man popped into my head although it wasn't a Geico agency). They did. I was paying $1500 per 6 months with my old one (again, not Geico) and with the new one I am paying like $700. Boy, I was a happy camper. I called my MIL and said I have got good news, we are going to save over 50% in car insurance. Again, that green man popped into my head.
Green olives here too!
What's really, really good is a cheeseburger with grilled onions, tomato, and green olives on it.
I could eat that every day. :-)
Ha! I got to see a green snake
in my yard once. It was the kind that climbs, and was in an azalea bush. I had no idea we had green snakes here in NC until I saw that one.
green onions
The patient may be mentally unbalanced. Certainly sounds like it.
Green and red chili!!!
In my opinion there's not much that can't be made better by the addition of green or red chili. I cook pinto beans with lots of green chili and bacon bits with a bunch of spices and they are sooooo good. And the combination of potatoes and red chili to me is just one of the best things ever.

Green eyed monster
I posted a while back about a woman who was divorced sat down at a football game with dh. I was at home working. Anyway, dh told me about it and he said he did not ask her she just sat there and they enjoyed the game together. I said okay. Anyway, 6 months later dh asked her if she was willing to lease out that 10 acres of land that she has so he can plant hay. She said he could. He did ask me if I was okay with it. I said I was. Well dh went to pay her first months rent and boy did she ever give him the old sob story about how her ex was. She also tells him that several men, married men, have been out there coming to call. She turned them all down because all she wants to do is raise her kids and ride horses.
The only man I ever really chased was dh and I was pretty cut and dry with that. Most the time I admired men at a distance. I have ran around with some pretty wild girls and they would give their potentials a sob story about how awful life is just to play on sympathy then they would brag about how every man in the world “wanted” them. Is this what this girl is doing? Trying to play on DH sympathy and then telling him she is a catch of the town.
I do know my dh. He is more likely to run off with a tractor then he is with another woman. I can almost 100% guarantee it. There is always a slight possibility I could be wrong but who knows.
Another thing that worries me, is if this gal really is flirting and dh doesn’t want to “join her circus of men coming to call” is she going to run him off the property after he put all that work and money into it.
I don’t know why I worry so much. She probably is just one that likes to talk, it could be innocent.
Green-eyed monster
My husband was an attorney who would come home at night and tell me about how his secretary would flirt and carryon with him. He had little derogatory names for her. She had sad stories for him as well, about raising three young daughters on her own, etc. When I was in the hospital for emergency major surgery she even offered to take care of our home and make him dinner, etc. I wasn't jealous at all, but I did warn my husband to be careful of her and the situation. Long story short ... they had an affair, our marriage was over, and I lost everything. (He's since married and divorced from the secretary.)
Just because your husband shares with you about his time spent with this woman does not mean he is or is not having/or will have a relationship with her. The man I am with now would never dream of spending any amount of time for any reason with a single woman without me along with him ... not because I have asked, but because he believes this is the right way to show respect and love for me.
Jealousy isn't that great, but being smart is. Some men with really good hearts can be kind of naive. Just something to think about. Your DH sounds like a good person.
Went semi-green with car purchase
We traded in my minivan (which was getting about 16 mpg) for a slightly used Yaris. They get 40 mpg and my car payment will drop significantly. They rate very well with Consumer Reports for reliability, etc. My sister has one and only has to fill the tank once every 2 months.
Back when we got the van we had plenty of money and the economy was fine. These days, with work changes and gas prices, it should be a big help to be out from under that expense. Plus I have a nearly new car (5,000 miles). It is silver mica color, the sedan model. The little 2-door hatchbacks are adorable, but you can't find them anywhere for some reason.
My rule if not green and fuzzy it is okay. EXCEPT

Is anybody wearing green today?
I forgot, but when my kid tried to pinch me (oh brother), we realized I had a green coffee cup and some green lines in my shirt. HA. So, do you care about this green stuff? Frankly I care about the green in my wallet, so I am typing more than thinking about green beer today. LOL. Happy St. Patty's Day! (green face icon)
I could have sworn I saw one for a Green Card
-- I think this dude needs one!
That's often a great way to get your green thumb on. sm
I did it for a couple of years in Minneapolis (and I lived in the middle of "Concreteville" downtown). A grassroots (no pun intended) organization got a local company to donate (temporarily) their vacant lot next door, just outside of the downtown area, and the organization collected some ridiculously small fee from each gardener (like $15 or something) for the season, and then we each had a small (8' x 10' ?) plot to do with as we wished. It was fenced in, and locked (we had the combination) just to keep our produce from being stolen, and the plot was just a short bike ride away for me.
It's a great way to meet others in the community, as well. I'd be surprised if your city doesn't already have one in place, if not a number of them. I'd suggest calling one of the food co-ops (as I don't know how one would find the plots otherwise unless one stumbled across a notice about them), and they likely will know of such efforts near you.
Ro*Tel -- diced tomatoes & green chilies
Ro-Tel is similar to canned stewed tomatoes. In times past, it was marketed mainly in the southern states, originating in Texas.

I lived with dark green paneling for almost 20 yrs in the
living room then finally took the plunge. It took a coat of primer and 2 coats of the light colored paint I wanted, but it was so worth it. I took before, during and after pictures and the difference it made is unbelievable.
my fave too...along with Fried Green Tomatoes
I personally think green onions have a bit stronger
oniony flavor than a shallot, but still very close. It is very easy to substitute any of the veggies in the onion family for another, except chives. A bit more of a different flavor than the green from green onions. IMO chives are more of an herb than a veggie. Could be totally wrong, would love to hear other opinions as well.
my favorite, I think, is the little green round onions .....
that that you see topping soups or like that topping the Taco Bell Nacho Supreme. I think I love them all but those are my favorite.
Green in the wallet is a good thing
I don't like the color green at all so I have no green clothes whatsoever.
why on god's green earth are 8 jumbo crayons
a pack of 8 regular sized crayons is 2 for $1. I can get a pack of TWENTY FOUR crayons for 17 cents. But a pack of 8 large sized is $1.50 a pack at the cheapest. I found them at winn dixie for 2.99 a pack. I need 2 packs. Six dollars for 16 crayons?? That's highway robbery...geez
shread it up, add some green chiles and diced tomatoes
and freeze for burritos or machaca beef later on...uumm good
The yucky green stuff is back today
Along with very painful sinus pressure and throbbing. Guess it is sinuses after all.
I rested all day today and I was going to go out to dinner but just taking a shower tired me out so much I couldn't do anything else. Of course, I hadn't eaten anything all day, but still....tired of this!!
Thanks for listening, y'all. I'll quit whining now.
I've quadrupled it! Look up Green bean casserole....
and make sure to have a happy, happy Thanksgiving!! Yummmmm my favorite veggie dish you're making....yummm yummmm *laughs*
ENJOY!!
Not to butt in but what's great about green bean casserole?
I made it once and it went in the garbage. It was horrible. Every year I tell hubby I'm going to try it again (jokingly of course) and he always says "The h--- you will!!!"
So much for that.
I agree! I have my sponge bob green desktop background
today. Also love that green beer! PS: Spongebob is dressed in green on my desktop, so that counts for me. LOL.
Add green chili and some cheese, and I'd have died and gone to heaven! nm

One-A-Day, green label, with ginseng, from Wal-Mart; if i do without, can tell a huge difference sm
in my energy and work production. takes a few days of taking them once i have skipped some to notice the difference for a day. then once i get going on them, i don't notice a huge energy burst unless i am without them and then i am just drained!!! FYI, don't take on an empty stomach. i usually take right after supper. they are not the huge horse pills either and i only take one a day.
