I'm fascinated at what scares men.

The owner of the company I work for has confessed a fear of needles, and so has a male friend from work. The former goes to foreign countries where nobody speaks English and we don't have an embassy, where hoodlems may break in and steal his passport, yet he's afraid of mere needles. Bear in mind he has a whole greenhouse full of needle-bearing plants and also areas of garden loaded with them. You can't go near these agaves and yuccas without becoming a human pincushion, so how is that different than needles? Then my friend at work seems to love pain - loves to play paintball - apparently it hurts to get shot - and do other physical activities that cause pain. He's not afraid of pain, but is afraid of needles. What gives? I'm afraid of spiders, but not snakes. Give me a shot and I don't even stop talking or acknowledge it. But throw a ball at me and I duck in fear. Send me out on the streets without my navigation system and I'm a wreck.

why are others so fascinated with--sm
American Idol, or some of these other programs?...it makes for interesting conversation. Besides, us *poh folk* sort of like to see the uppity ups get theirs and to be treated just like the rest of us once, instead of their money getting them out of things they should be accountable for!
Why are people so fascinated with her?

My 8 y.o. says it is Tempur-pedic. He's always fascinated with the jumping on the bed thing.

scares me
I wouldn't want my children attending a college in Utah.
It scares me.

A few weeks ago H and I had the TV on though we were not really watching it.  I was working on a sewing project and H was reading a gmagazine.  It seemed every commercial was a 'How I Met Your Mother" trailer and that guy who used to play Doogie Houser would come on and brag about how he had sex with 200 women.  I popped up and said "gosh I wished they would not play that right now while the kids are still up and can hear."  It was early in the evening.   My 8-year-old informed me that she and her friends talk about it already.  I asked her what it was, she said that S word.   I told her that sex was not a dirty word but having sex with 200 people is not cool and a person could get real sick doing that.   I asked what they say but she never would give me a straight answer.  I have to try to figure out how to have a conversation with my kids about it now.

His speaking out against it would scares me too. (nm)

It scares me too, I have using Iams dry
for over 20 years with good luck thus far, canned friskies as an evening treat and so far, everyone is still healthy (knocking on wood). I am scared to switch to anything because of all this stuff, I love my cats, don't want to lose them.
OMG Cat that scares the Holy Cr*p out of me when
I was back in Arkansas one year, I slept through one! The next day they took me out to tour the damage. Holy Moly!
Yes, it scares the yell out of me. sm
When it first came on, I didn't want to watch it because the subject matter really frightened me. My family got me started on it, though, saying what a great show it is. It sure does make me think about what could happen if something like that were to occur, being under martial law and all of that.
I know you are right. That is what scares me now. I simply SM
don't care about myself at all anymore.  I have been lost in the process of just trying to keep afloat. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me.
it doesn't just scare you it scares the person you're in bed with too!!!
My boyfriend had these episodes where he would be falling asleep and then get real tense and start breathing heavy and fast... and i'd try to wake him... and it would take minutes. okay probably seconds... but it felt like forever.

then he would say that he was trying to open his eyes and speak, but couldn't, and describes what you are describing, with a few differences. I looked it up and found sleep paralysis. It sounds very much like this...

it only happens every once in awhile to him, but I sure get so scared when it happens. sounds silly, but it is freaky to see him tense up and know something is happening that i can't stop!!
