I'm doing it myself

I'm doing that now - well not this exact minute :-), but I'm turning 35-mm slides into pics (haven't done it in about a year though but need to start in again). Have already scanned in over 400 slides, only about 800 or so more to go (DH's grandfather tooks thousands of slide pics over the span of 40+ years). Great ones of DH and his sibling from birth through present day. Anyway, a few years back I bought a scanner. It's a Visioneer OneTouch 9020USB. I bought it at Staples and cost me around $99. It has a built in feature to scan slides (when you open the top of the scanner right in the middle of the lid there's a little square cutout). What I have to do is reset the settings I had to do a little checking but was able to figure out how to change the setting. When you scan a picture or document the light comes from one source, but when you are scanning a slide, the light will shine the other way. I may not be explaining that right, but it works and if you get one and want some help feel free to email me and I can see what I can find from my notes.

But get yourself a scanner with the capability to scan slides. I've had my Visioneer now for about 5 years and it still works great.
