I would love the recipe too!
I am allergic to many laundry soaps so I usually buy "Free and Clear" which is a little more costly than others. Maybe this could be perfect for me! It certainly would not have any additives like fragrance and dye.
I LOVE THIS RECIPE!
Now I know what to take to the next church carry-in. I had forgotten about this dessert. It is delicious!
I love using my recipe box on Foodnetwork.
While watching a show if you see a recipe that you like you just have to go to the website, click on the recipe on the bottom right side of the page and then add to recipe box. You can store up to 50 at a time and just a couple of clicks to delete if you don't like the recipe. Also, if there are several recipes in 1 show that you like, pull up one recipe and all the other recipes from that same show are at the bottom of the page.
I love their iced tea recipe. (NM)
:)
Would LOVE to see the recipe board come back!
Hopefully the rest of you feel the same in this economy and with the holidays coming up. Perhaps a moderator will look into it.
good recipe
This is exactly how I make it except I cut up some celery to put in also. .
Another good corn recipe
1 15-16 can Mexicorn
1 small package yellow rice
6-8 oz cheddar cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup
Cook rice according to package directions. Mix with all other ingredients. Pour into small casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
very, very tasty
Does anyone have a good turkey recipe?? SM
Due to last week's turn of events I'm having turkey day at my house with my husband and kids. I've never cooked a turkey before. I have a very large slow cooker/roaster I've never used before and would like to cook it in there. What kid of spices do you put on it. I've got the stuffing taken care of, but am not sure what to do with the outside of the turkey. I'd like it to have some special flavoring if possible.
TIA for the ideas.
That sounds so good. Thanks for the recipe. NM
Here I've lived in Texas most of my life and never made homemade chili pie. This sounds delicious, and I will definitely write down that recipe! Thanks again for sharing!
I have had this and it is very good! Another toffee recipe...
1 pound of butter, one pound of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla and 1 bag of chocolate chips. (nuts if you want).
If you want some sort of nuts, place in bottom of cookie sheet with raised sides before starting.
Heat butter until melted and add brown sugar and vanilla. Heat on stove to hard crack stage--if you do not have a candy thermometer (like me) put cold water in a cup and drip a little in to check and see if it is ready. When it is crunchy, it is done. Pour into cookie sheet and scatter chocolate chips over the top. They will melt and you can spread them like in the recipe above.
have a really good cake recipe
My mom got it when she did weight watchers, but my whole family absolutely loves it, very easy to make
Angel food cake mix, mandarin oranges
bake, let cool
icing is cool whip, 1/2 cup milk & pkg of banana cream instant pudding (or whatever kind you would like, some of my crew likes the white chocolate pudding in the icing).. if you want the exact recipe let me know.. I could sit & eat the whole thing myself.. lol
Ooooh, my kids love them and we always have chicken, can you shoot me the recipe? :0) thanks!...nm

allrecipes.com is a good recipe site sm
We make roast beef in the crock pot a lot - just cut up whatever veggies you like, put them on the bottom, add the roast beef on top, then you can either put 1 cup of beef bouillon or you can use Lipton's onion soup according to the directions. Or substitute burgundy or another red wine for half the liquid. Yummy!
anyone have a recipe for fondant that tastes good? sm
I love to make cakes decorated with fondant but the store-bought kind doesn't taste too good and the consistency is kind of sticky. I know some people make their own and would love to know how to make a good fondant that tastes good and works well - shiny would be great! Anyone know? Thanks
Would have a really good recipe for pumpkin spice latte?
o
LOL .. Thanks now im CRAVING choc covered strawberries UGH!!
Hadnt even noticed after being on there 15 times today.
carbs are bad
watch your carb intake, get carb free drinks. Thats where I had a problem I drink all day, can't stand water so would hit juice or something don't really like soda, all of them have too many calories. Switched to Fruit 2o or Kool-Aid with the yellow sweetner forget the name. Lost 14 pounds in the last month. 5 to go till my goal. 10 to my high school weight and Im 45 with 2 10.5 pound kiddies. Youll get used to feeling hungry and then it won't bother you Im on small portions also now
Not all carbs are bad.
No food group is "bad." No food group should be eliminated from one's diet including fats.
There are good and bad in most food groups. Good carbs: Fruit, veg, whole grains, etc.
The carbs you spoke of, the sugary ones, are definitely bad and should be avoided and/or eliminated, which you did and had success.
But please don't give carbs a bad name!! I love my good carbs!!! :-)
Ick, DD got a candy apple at Rocky Mtn Choc. Factory & it had a worm in it.

not OP but protein I would think...
sweetbreads, for example, very popular in the south and also in places like Argentina...they are neither sweet nor are they bread...they are organ meats....like liver or the heart, etc.....
to all posters - many cultures do indulge in lots of different ways/foods.....so I wouldn't be so quick to judge..until you find out first-hand by trying/tasting/indulging...
Have a great holiday in whichever way you choose to indulge and cook!!
What do you want for your main protein item?

alternative forms of protein
Don't make meat the centerpiece of your meals. Legumes & grains can be combined to make complete proteins. It's healthier & MUCH cheaper. Buy a great vegetarian cookbook, like Moosewood by Mollie Katzen.
I make my own nonfat yogurt 2 gallons at a time, then strain it. I use the whey as a buttermilk substitute to make my own bread. Sounds time-consuming, but it's really not. It's simple & can mostly be done while I'm working. Cost: yogurt about 3 dollars a gallon, bread (more nutritious than anything you can buy) about 35 cents a loaf.

Don't make meat the centerpiece of your meals. Use it like a condiment, as in Asian cooking. Legumes & grains can be combined to make complete proteins. It's healthier & MUCH cheaper. Buy a great vegetarian cookbook, like Moosewood by Mollie Katzen.

I get blocks of cheese at Costco, cut it into smaller chunks & freeze some of it. This makes it kind of crumbly but it still melts fine & can be used in recipes.
protein-filled snacks/foods.....
Protein shakes and lots of water, also -sm
eat a salad w/o a lot of dressing or extra stuff, keep it simple, lettuce, tomato, cucumber (if you like them), small amount of fat-free or low-fat dressing to give it some taste. I am biting the bullet today and starting my diet for good today, check out www.liquiddietdiscussion.com - good support board for a mostly liquid diet though. So if you still have a lot to lose check it out. I will have 5 shakes a day, salad, protein bar, and a reg. dinner, and soup througout the day so I will "eat" 6 x a day. I have dieted like this before (nutrisystems years ago) and the key is eating every 2-3 hours, plus drinking lots of water. Granted this diet I am doing is a bit extreme but there are worse one out there with a lot less calories. This one is about 1100 a day. But I have 70-80 pounds to lose and health-wise it is time for extreme measures before I get DM or joint problems, already have back problems and have had 1 gout attack (nasty), not on meds and want to keep it that way!
omelettes. eggs are economical protein
We like to have an omelette buffet about twice per month. We prepare all the family's favorite add-ins (diced ham, cooked potato, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, etc) and everyone chooses their own. Put 2 eggs in a quart-sized ziploc bag, seal the bag and simply squish the eggs by hand, then add your favorite ingredients. Remove as much of the air as you can, seal, and place all the bags in a large pot of boiling water for about 10 minutes (so as to not get each person's confused, you can write names on the bags with permanent marker). We add cheese after they're done, which the omelettes will slide right out of the bag. We just serve hot fresh biscuits and sliced navel oranges at the table to complete the meal. Everyone enjoys having their omelette their way and they're all done at the same time so no one's omelette gets cold. It only costs about $1 per person.
I was on a high protein, low carb diet some years ago and
actually felt great. I lost 27 pounds and looked better than I had in many years. I keep wanting to discipline myself enough to do that again. As far as low carb, I cut out almost all breads, cereal, pasta, etc., but ate fruit (which I think is high in carbs) and ate a lot of nuts. I really felt very good and my self esteem was so much better than now. Good luck to you!
Judy is right..... high protein, low carb foods

gossip and start vicious rumors! At this point, who cares! The woman is deceased and her poor daughter has to face a lifetime of continuing vicious gossips and rumors. Gossip mongers need to find something better to do!!!
Tough love can be a good thing - I agree w/you
You did the right thing. He needs to learn otherwise you are going to have a yo-yo on your hands.
I wish I had stuck to my guns the first time my son did that. It took me a few years to learn. Moving away from home is NOT something small. It is a BIG thing and you son needs to realize that. I WISH I had listened to someone besides my mothers advice and maybe my son would be better off.
IMHO--- People should get real - You took YOUR key back You did NOT kick him out you were giving him what he wanted. You did NOT put him out into the streets.
Stick to your guns mom and I think that one day he will be a better man for it.
I love that and can relate. Betcha have good stories :-) TY! nm

Not rich or snooty either, just love good quality
items and buy them when I want. Who wants to shop at the local mall and get something that everyone else wears and see it all over town? Just like jewelry; I don't wear the average items you see advertised every holiday season that everyone wears and every jewelry store sells. My guy gets my things made at a one of kind store, where at least I know I'm probably the only one who has it.
I Love Sally's! Good idea to get the savings card for $5.00
also. You pretty much make it back and-then-some on just a couple of purchases. And they are not expensive to start, I don't think. MUCH cheaper than the stuff at the salons where they can charge $20 for a bottle of shampoo! I have had much success with finding products you can't get anywhere else, such as salon-strength reconstructors/deep conditioning products the salons "won't" sell you, and charge you 15.00 or so for one application, because they want you to keep coming back for them! Cha-ching! Salons are truly such a rip off. At Sally's, I'm like a kid in a candy store! ;)
Love the doggie car-seat idea - you are a good mommy :)
I'm so sorry about your sister's dogs.
Good question. Probably because she's a little older and wiser and not as blinded by love sm
not as scared to believe them because she doesn't have tiny babies. You can hear the anguish in her posts. She doesn't want to leave him, but she is starting to think she has to. It is probably extremely difficult, I'm sure.
No. Bacon is loaded with carbs and saturatated fat. It would be fine without the bacon.

American Idol - Love, love, love Adam!!!
I think he'll make it til the end! At least I hope so!
Recipe
I love this and you can use a variety of types of yogurts/berries.
Frozen Yogurt
An 8-ounce container of yogurt (I uses Dannon Light)
An 8-ounce container of cool whip (Lite or Low-Fat)
A package of berries (no sugar added).
Mix all together and freeze in a pie plate or cake pan. I mostly use strawberries and strawberry yogurt, and now they even have strawberry cool whip, but not lite or fat-free.
For other company, I sometimes add in some Splenda to sweeten the berries, or put in a graham cracker crust.
You could also make sugar free chocolate pudding, and mix in cool whip. Stir together and put in parfait cups with a shot of Reddi Whip on top. This is always a fun treat.
Sorry it is late in coming but, hopefully, you can use in the future as well.
SIL's recipe....
It sounds like your SIL is just the ticket!!!!
I've seen other recipes that are quite similar, and people have raved no end. But, in these recipes the meat cooks for a much, much, much shorter length of time.
I'm sure they're just as wonderful as the cooks and their dinner guests swear, but I've been rather stuck and quite stubborn on "my" recipe.
So, tell your SIL: Help!...Dinner is this weekend and my co-host and I were hoping to go shopping today, tomorrow at the verylatest.
Why I'm stuck on this one, I don't know, but Lord how I remember that taste, that smell!
Thanks so much!
need a recipe!
Does anyone have an easy recipe for a yummy, ooey, gooey cream cheese pastry that they'd like to share? Thanks!!

Try going to allrecipes.com and see if you can find one there for that! Do you want hamburger beef or real like beefsteak? Just buy some refried beans in a can, some tortillas, fry up some burger and add some burrito seasoning or salsa and wrap them up! Add a bit of sour cream and black olives, the works on top..oh I'm getting hungry now!
Bonappetite!
