Do you attend a church or other religious program? If so, you really should speak to someone there about your situation. I know several of my local churches offer to put together Christmas dinners for those who can't afford to and they've also given cash to them to buy for their families or help with their bills. People are more generous than you might realize.
Do you have children and/or a significant other? Depending on who you need to "shop" for, we may be able to offer nonmonetary suggestions that will make you feel good and the person you're giving the "gift" to.
Things are always worse than they seem. Hope your spirits are lifted soon. Good will.
I guess it's almost spiritual interpretation
I'm not 100% sure whether I believe it's predestined or not. I was involved in a guy that was involved in 28 separate accidents involving transportation (and that doesn't count a few he has had with farm and other heavy equipment), at least 20 of which were potentially fatal, including 2 planes he crashed, not to mention that he is an alcoholic slowly drinking himself to death. While not religious in the standard sense, in his case I believed God was sending warning shots or a chance to make his life right, but considering these 'warnings' have been going on for 20+ years, I'm thinking that he's just both blessed and cursed at the same time. For what it's worth, his friends have voted him the person they most want to stand next to in a lightning storm, although I would worry that he seems to draw the lightning to him, and he's the one with the 'charmed' existence, not necessarily those who are with him.
Spiritual in other ways aside from God. Don't attend church.
