How did you get his password?

If he knows you have his password yet still signed up for this site, knowing an activation email would be sent, perhaps subconsciously he wants you to intervene and save him from himself yet again. I would think if he knows you have his password, he would have created a new email account to which this activation would be forwarded, knowing you'd never find it.
I don't consider what you did snooping, BTW. Geez, I even check my boyfriend's MySpace any time I can to make sure it still indicates he is in a relationship and nothing odd is going on on his page. Yes, when he forgets to log out, I even go in and check his emails. Maybe it's snooping, maybe it's not, but we had issues at the beginning of our relationship which were a long time ago, but the wounds sometimes still feel fresh to me. I look on it as self-preservation for my own peace of mind.
This is a huge decision you have to make. I'd suggest taking your time and not doing anything in the heat of the moment, simply because you indicate he is a good man and that you love him very much. Think out your plan of action carefully and put it into place.
Whichever way you go with this, I wish you luck. I pray I never have to make a decision such as yours. Love is a very powerful emotion and one not easily expelled from the heart.
