This discussion the strangest thing I have ever heard in my life! My husband uses body butter from Bath and Body Works, but he's not gay, and he is very, very masculine. He just has dry skin and cares about his appearance. I'd prefer clean and fresh, then nasty, stinky, unkempt with dirty fingernails. I don't think there is anything wrong with a man caring about his appearance. To each his own I guess.

him, thank goodness. We both like to shower. Closed mind? Said I could care less about someone else's preference, just don't care for my husband sharing my makeup, toiletries, curling iron. If others want to let their lady, excuse me, man use their items, totally up to them.

When a woman is spilling her woes to a man it is almost always that she is chasing him, consciously or subconsciously. Not to say your husband would fall for it but that is how 9/10 affairs start is the "shoulder to cry on."
Is the land right near her home where he would have to have a lot of contact with her? Because I think you are right to worry that if he rebuffs her she might run him off the property, or if the lease prevents it she could make him pretty miserable, unless the land is not nearby her home and he could just mail the payments to her.
It's always possible that she is not doing this, but it sounds like your gut is telling you something isn't right, and it clearly made him uneasy or he wouldn't have told you about it. I would avoid this situation altogether and find other land to lease.
I hate to bust your bubble, but
I called before about welfare and tax fraud. I do not make false charges and know what I need in order to provide people with information. I had all the children's SS numbers, the mother's, etc. I was providing for the children, they were living with me, everything and yet the mother's "man" had put them down on his income tax to get refund from the gov. No one has to explain about the fraud lines. I had all the information, knew their address, everything. I talked with income tax people as well as welfare fraud. I would turn my own kids in for fraud much less someone else. I despise it and have seen so much. Welfare contacted the mother and she sent her man packing for awhile and then moved him right back in. Years ago in my state welfare came out with the gotta work program and this woman stated to me "I aint going in for training" and she never held a job to my knowledge anytime after that. Oh, if you were married you do not fit into the category of "single" mother. You could be separated, divorced, widowed if you had been married. That is a term unmarried mothers with children seem to want to take especially when trying to, I think, have people feel sorry for them. I have my facts all straight, thanks.

Per American Heritage:
"Adjectives that have one syllable usually take -er and -est. Adjectives that have two syllables and end in y (early), ow (narrow), and le (gentle), can also take -er and -est. Almost all other adjectives with two or more syllables require the use of more and most."
As STUPID has more than 1 syllable, and does not end in a Y, an OW or an LE, the correct form is MORE STUPID, as in many people who claim to know proper grammar are MORE STUPID than those they try to correct.

tourists getting caught up in the middle, not to mention how dangerous it can be even without a drug war going on... is it REALLY worth the risk? We have plenty of beautiful beaches right here in the U.S., and why not spend your tourism money to help out our own ailing economy. It is much better to be safe than sorry. JMO...

Like I said, could care less about a preference but if you have to ask, my gosh, you have a problem there already. My husband very neat, clean about his appearance, but I am not talking about clean, I am talking about the feminization of guys and if people cannot see it, then their heads are stuck in the sand. You need to read my post again. If a woman wants a gal-pal, maybe she has to look no further than her own home. Just would not want a husband/girlfriend in the same package.

I went on originally saying about what my home owner's association does not accept, including clothes lines, animals roaming loose, vegetable gardens, etc. and I said I love it here. Immediately what returned was a statement about people looking down their nose at you implying that is what I do. Someone else making statement about rural living-my present home is very much that with woods close by and deer roam through my yard sometimes. I, like loads of other transcriptionists, work as loners and tend to be that way. I am no different and love my privacy here and that is what is afforded me. One of the homes I sold was in a big city and the other was lake front which was an inheritance. People seem to like to run down what others are able to achieve. I worked hard, very hard for most that I have had and it has taken years for me to be able to get to a point where I basically do not have to worry about every cent that I spend. I have always been free with my money trying to help out others and it has come back tenfold to me. I now rescue animals because of my love for them. I never was one to be jealous of others but apparently lots I run into on this forum don’t feel the same. Hope you can enjoy the rest of your coffee.

OJ book and trial, innocent or guilty?
I saw the message about OJ and the book about whether or not he actually did the crime. What I would like to know from the MTers discussing this, did any of you watch the trial from start to finish? The newspapers, television shows, etc. most all the time fabricated parts leaning towards his part in this crime. I saw it all from start to finish, every single day and after that made my own decision regarding the guilt or innocence, not by what I read in the papers or heard on the news. The most important piece of "evidence" supposedly was the glove issue. The trial showed a receipt from a store from accessories. Never ever did they match a scanned number, price, date bought or whatever with the glove buying, but then again I guess most of you watched all the trial?

probably unwanted advice from an innocent bystander
1) Change your locks. Do not give your children keys. If they don't have access to keys, then they can't be tricked, bribed, or begged into handing them over to anybody.
2) Secure your windows with locking sticks or locks of some kind. It doesn't have to cost anything or be fancy in any way, it just needs to create a situation where a break-in would leave evidence behind (broken glass, etc).
3) Go ahead and leave the garage open if you want, but get all of your own stuff out of there.
4) Instruct your children to not answer the door or open the door for ANYONE except you and the specifically named people that you trust implicitly to do no harm and not be in collusion with the -ex. (This should be a very short list!)
The above things all have to do with the -ex, not the social worker, by the way, but it's never a bad idea to require a social worker to be let in by YOU and YOU ALONE (never the kids/teenagers).

My min-pin was always itching and scratching and rubbing on anything he could. Then the vet told me to use baby shampoo on him, and it worked. Plus I only bath him like every other month or so. Gets a little stinky, but I love him anyways. I don't usually give him a bath until his coat starts to look not so shiny. Seems to have worked so far.
Not until after his bath, LOL.
He just came out of the shelter and I can hardly wait for him to be clean.
But oh does he appreciate belly scritches.
He is such a good boy.

I JUST thought of doing that. I'm sitting here telling myself my husband will think I have completely lost it if he comes home to see I have filled every empty jug in the house with water and the bath tub!!! lol I'm doing it anyway. Glad I'm not the only one to think of that.
We are also in MI. I keep thinking back to the other ice storm we had a few years back and the blackout where there was no gasoline or anything. Scary stuff but I would just like to try to prepare this time around if I can. As soon as I finish up here I'm working off your list. Some really great ideas to catch up laundry, charging batteries, etc. Thanks!

Bath and Body sm
My DH got me some B/B red leather collection stuff, makeup bag, manicure/pedicure set (awesome) and a little purse which came with Moonlight Path shower gel and body lotion. I already had the overnight bag and the tote. I just can't get enough of that red - I'm a bling, bling girl all the way!!!
Bath and teeth
Maybe it's the toothpaste. Some of it tastes yucky to a kid or the mint may be too strong or brushing could be irritating his gums. Let him pick a child's toothpaste and soft toothbrush and see if that helps. As for baths, I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the tub. What mom didn't know was that my older sister kept sneaking in and pulling the plug, telling me I was going to go down the drain. She said if I told mom she would call the adoption agency and tell them to take me back (I wasn't adopted, but at age 4 I didn't know that). Maybe he saw something on TV that scared him. Some shows are pretty graphic (news too). I recall one show where a lady was brushing her teeth and blood started pouring from the faucet. Try letting him sit in a dry tub with a bucket of water for a sponge bath. Sit down and talk with the kid (not talk to) and assure him/her that if there is something going on you can help.
Why did they say your dog needed a bath?
I just throw my collie mix outside when it rains and maybe take him to the groomer 2 or 3 times a year. If he was rolling around in mud and dead animals, that would be different.
I like the ones from Bath and Body called
socks to sleep in. They are so soft and so warm. My feet are also constantly freezing. I wear slippers all winter long. I have some, the brand is "old Friend" and they are leather with sheep skin in them. Your feet do not get sweaty, just toasty warm. I go through a pair every year because I wear them until it is about 70 degrees outside.

Buy one of those bathtubs and fill them up with bath toys sm
and baby towels, washcloths, Johnson & Johnson stuff, etc.
Or buy one of those dishwashwer tubs that fit into the dishwasher that holds nipples, pacifiers, etc and wrap that up in a baby bath towel with a big bow on it.
Get a basket and fill it up with onesies, socks, kits that include medicines, etc.
I love going to baby showers and creating unique gifts!

If you have a bath and body works locally, try...sm
their shower gels and body butter in whatever fragrance you prefer. I too have such dry skin that it cracks and bleeds, especially on my hands and feet. I can write on the skin on my arms and legs it gets so dry, and my face looks like a road map if I don't moisturize. I also have very sensitive skin, but the perfumes they use don't seem to bother my skin. I use the Neutragena Wave foaming cleansing pads on my face and then use the body butter. Also try not to take really hot showers, the heat is very hard on the skin, and make sure you pat dry, not rub as that tears the skin. Apply the body butter first thing in the morning, right out of the shower and again right before you go to bed. That may seem like a lot, but it does not take much of the body butter. I use it usually about 3 times a day, sometimes more on my hands, and mine still lasts quite a while.
Throwing out the baby with the bath water
It seems somehow kinda wrong to determine that the health care is good enough for our military but I sure as heck don't want it for me. It's like those situations where instead of increasing standards all around to make something to be proud of, you lower the standards to the least common denominator. There is no reason not to use the military system and fix what's wrong with it rather than determine that it won't work. My girls were delivered in naval hospital, had surgery in naval hospitals, saw Navy doctors, etc., etc. The care my family received through them in wait times, time spent with patient, treatment, etc., was no worse than it was when we belonged to Kaiser years later.

i made a basket for my brother one year. i had no clue either, but he seemed to really like it. i did a "night at the movie" theme. filled the basket with snack things since all men i know like to snack, lol. i put in there popcorn, pringles, candy bars, fudge, drinks, gift certificates to Blockbuster, etc. men also like games like checkers, chess, dominoes, poker, etc so maybe a nice poker set or something?
