I wish someone had stopped me - folks gave permission at a young age....because they were smokers.....I have never quit except in pregnancy....but I quit buying over 3-1/2 months ago, still smoke but ask others for one....and I cut back smoking by 75 percent and THAT's something because I no longer even cough the way I used to, my house smells GREAT (smoking outside only).....and I sound better (because I really am better - health-wise).
It is MOST definitely a drug addiction, as bad as any of them, as addicting as any of them........so the post was right on about *hearing it is as strong as a heroin addiction* - I tell kids today, that's exactly what it is...........................because it is.
My only suggestion is to show her pictures (found online even, just Google the subject/topic/question) of what lungs look like in smokers versus nonsmokre, and then find some head and neck surgical oncology site and start showing her pictures there (I worked in a surgical oncology HEAD AND NECK dept for a few years and what I saw was definitely sickening and yet, I too, still smoke *slaps self*)
My children (due to the fact I used above tactics) - NEVER smoked (thank goodness!!!!).

there are vents on the back of the tower - that periodically need brushing out, cleaning out - canned air works well in this/these areas....
there is a tiny fan inside every tower.....maybe it blew? but yes - they need AIR surrounding them - the backs of towers should not be completely blocked....

It was a Dell. Got a virus a year ago that screwed it up quite a bit, and just after Christmas it blew up for good. Luckily had a external hard drive and backed up most of my C-drive, though lost about 3 weeks of work....need to get into the habit of backing up weekly. Bought a new Dell wtih XP, quite happy with it.

It feels like all of the bones from my knuckles to my wrist on the top of my hand are all cramped and grinding. Loaded on pain pills right now, still pain. No health insurance. I responded to this post and thought about it again this afternoon and it's really kind of funny how seriously we, me included, take some of these things. It is important, but not so serious, just so typical. It's not like she was shooting crack in the livingroom, or huffing/snuffing/snorting whatever is done with it. As far as I can tell we have not heard back from the original and I wonder what finally happened.

He said he tried to avoid going home because he would get heart palpitations which I now recognize as anxiety that I also get around her. He just couldn't deal with it anymore. She drives everyone away and that hurts me too but yeah I keep thinking the only way I'll ever get away from her is enroll in a witness protection program..and of course, I feel guilty for wanting to get away from her.

I started getting this error message and when I called my computer people they said I had downloaded something that corrupted my operating system. Who knows what they would have charged I had unhooked everything and taken it in and my computer is only a couple months old. Cannot thank you enough. I can count on one hand the number of prescriptions I've taken in my life. I don't understand why people will take a med if its something that will run its course and your body will take care of. My doctor is great that way. He'll tell me there is a prescription, but if I'm willing to give it time I don't need to take anything. Much rather that...my belief is that every med has some level of toxicity. I'll suffer through a headache or achy bones before taking an over the counter. There is a point where I'll give in an pop a few pain relievers, but it has to be really bad.

Woman Fined $1.9 Million For Illegally Downloading 24 Songs
(CNN) -- A federal jury Thursday found a 32-year-old Minnesota woman guilty of illegally downloading music from the Internet and fined her $80,000 each -- a total of $1.9 million -- for 24 songs.
Jammie Thomas-Rasset's case was the first such copyright infringement case to go to trial in the United States, her attorney said.
Attorney Joe Sibley said that his client was shocked at fine, noting that the price tag on the songs she downloaded was 99 cents.
She plans to appeal, he said.
Cara Duckworth, a spokeswoman for the Recording Industry Association of America, said the RIIA was "pleased that the jury agreed with the evidence and found the defendant liable."
"We appreciate the jury's service and that they take this as seriously as we do," she said.
Thomas-Rasset downloaded work by artists such as No Doubt, Linkin Park, Gloria Estefan and Sheryl Crow.
This was the second trial for Thomas-Rasset. The judge ordered a retrial in 2007 after there was an error in the wording of jury instructions.
The fines jumped considerably from the first trial, which granted just $220,000 to the recording companies.
Thomas-Rasset is married with four children and works for an Indian tribe in Minnesota.
