Hooray for you!
I think you're great! I want to do that - but it'll be another year before I will be in a financial position to do that.
Just ignore your mom - either she's in the habit of being negative or she may be afraid you'll get hurt or disappointed by not being able to accomplish what you set out to do.
Again, huge congrats to you! I bet you have better decorating sense than you think. Trust your judgment and have lots of fun looking at color palettes, the color samples at Home Depot, etc.
Hooray!
Hi Misha,
I've been waiting all day to hear of Cedric's arrival and your adventure! I'm glad Sasha was so kind to him....Cat
Hooray for you for sharing with us
I am so glad that someone talks about accepting their childs sexuality. I know a few that I feel are gay but won't come out. I would love to tell them that I couldn't care less but don't know how to approach it. Think it is their decision to tell when ready. Should I just say nothing or do you have a suggestion?
Hooray - glad I'm not the only one
I have read that scientist who have been studying this for years and years say the earth is actually on a cooling trend and we are headed on our way to an ice age.
I'm not sure whether or not I think Gore believes what he is saying. I know he is receiving a lot of money to say what he is, so I think that is a huge factor. One thing that bothers me about his theory is that he will not listen to the scientist who know what they are talking about. He just cashes the checks he is receiving (from the people who are not studying this).
Also, the last time the planet was in its warming phase was before the industrial revolution when there was no polution, automobiles, etc. So why do a lot of people believe that that is why they think our planet is warming.
I do believe the planet warms and cools in its own time and this is not something that is only caused by polution.
Also I understand the sun has none (or very little) sun spots (? - don't know if sun spots is the correct word), but the sun should have a ton of these spots and the scientist are trying to figure out why they don't. DH told me many planets are being affected and if global warming is being caused by human polution, how can there be global warming on other planets.
Maybe there are little green men and they are poluting the other plants. :-)
P.S. - how about those carbon credits????? What a joke.
Hooray and AMEN! You did the right thing!
No doubt, this bratty child treats her parents the same way. Now that I'm older, having endured criticism from many of my fellow parents for being so strict with my children AND with theirs, it's payback time. My college age children are self-disciplined, polite, and are getting and holding jobs. The friends who were such brats when they were little have grown into useless people who won't work and live at home years after spending 4+ years at expensive "good" colleges that their parents bragged about. One of the neighbor "kids" was outside yelling at his parents about how they should get him a new car, because he thinks the Lexus his parents bought him isn't good enough for him. He's 24!
You did the right thing!
HOORAY! What a wonderful outcome!
Thanks so much for letting us know. I've been thinking about your son all day.
Tell him Happy Birthday from the MT board. LOL!!
Where in Montana are you?
nm
$2.50 in Montana.
I ate 7 boxes. Seriously.
I too never made Montana but in the 70s
this film was shot completely in Montana and you get to see/feel so much of the environment you almost felt like you were there.....that part of the movie was worth seeing it...forget the plot
not a bad plot though either, if'n ya like Jack Nicholson.......*lol*....which is why I went actually....Jack in the 70s....terrific to some folks, not to some others (no flaming to commence here please). I just thought if you could rent this movie, you'd enjoy it for the scenery.
Have a GREAT time on what sounds like a SPECTACULAR trip.
In lovely Montana. :-) nm

Have Fun.. What about Hanna Montana??nm
.
Livin in Montana and lovin it here, but that
All of those places sounded nice as well. I transcribe for a company in Maryville, Tennessee (just outside of Knoxville), and that seems like a nice area too.
I'll give you some pros and cons of Montana. Pros: Very low violent crime rates, low cost of living, no sales tax, no real natural disasters (except forest fires & avalanches in the mountains and an occasional small tornado), beautiful mountains, lakes, and rivers with plenty of outdoor activities, friendly people, less than a million people in the whole state.
Cons: Very long, very cold winters, so unless you like skiing or snowboarding a lot or just really like snow you would probably hate it. There's no really big cities here, so we don't get a lot of good bands touring here. We have bad forest fires this year, so it's even smoky in the cities, but it is usually not this bad. There are plenty of other cons, but I can't think of them at the moment. Overall I'm happy here.
Good luck with your decision and try to think it through and plan very well before making any quick decisions!
Just visited Montana and no body
lives in Montana nor a lot of the states where I visited. Saw lots of horses, though. Drove for miles without seeing a soul, no houses, no businesses, only horses.
Tried that - Montana cool air and sunshine for all day but I can still smell it. Maybe I'm more
sensitive to it than other people?
In Montana and just me and husband spend $400 a month..nm

I lived in Montana for two years. Every time I opened my mouth, they said, "What part
of the South are you from? I said, "Golly bum, South Carolina".
