My mother responded to this post saying Hamilton was on the ten dollar bill and talked about her college daughter.
Tis I! The college daughter!
I just wanted to point out something that I found quite humorous. One mention of Clooney and everything went nuts! Everyone named off their favorite sex-pot Hollywood star and we all agree, Clooney must be sent from the gods.
The funny thing is that the women in the late 1700s were very fond of Hamilton (guy on the ten) much in the way you are about Clooney. Even today, I know a group of female history majors drool at mention of his name.
Not only was he bad on the eyes but the man was a genious. If it weren't for him, our econmy would have collapsed. Our country would probably fallen apart after the Revolution.
His story is one of my favorites in American history. He had a tough childhood in the West Indies and eventually became the first Secretary of Treasury. He was outspoke against nasty politics which eventually led to his death in probably the most famous duel in our history. He had a very strange personality which made him a funny little fellow.
You and your daughter should research him together. PBS just made this awesome docudrama about him. It can be a fun bonding experience.
Happy History!
