Here's another shot that shows his relative size.

Yes, he is missing his tail. This species uses the tail as a single-use defense mechanism (where, when threatened by a predator, the lizard goes one way and the tail goes the other), and it does not grow back, unlike some other species.

Have a relative who does this
but she has never really talked much about it, she left her job when she had a child and wanted some type of work from home, but last I heard she had taken in babysitting, I would assume the $40,000 a year (ha ha)that you hear about was not to be. I think the most you can hope for is a few free meals and a couple of bucks for spending money, not any kind of real income to live on.
I have a relative who......sm
It is an antidepressant but as with a lot of antidepressants, it can help with pain. People who have chronic pain tend to get depressed from the chronic pain, or they have depression, which causes them to feel more aches and pains. Either way, Cymbalta is suppose to be better in helping the individual deal with their pain better, but how much I suppose depends on the person taking it. They haven't been on it long, so not sure of the effect yet. Hope this helps.
it's all relative
I was telling my girlfriend I could use one of the smaller hand held baskets in the grocery now and still spend the same amount I bought in the regular grocery cart and she said, "Oh yeah, well I just spent the same amount filling up the lawnmower that I used to spend filling up my truck"!
What to do about the relative who - sm
Brings 2 pies to a holiday feast but asks for and expects to take home half (and I do mean HALF) the leftovers. I have let them do this for a few years now to save the embarrassment of telling someone they cannot have food to take home, but I am about at my limit this year. Let me add they have never invited me to their house for a huge holiday meal and seem to find relatives to eat with every holiday out of the year. Is there something I could say that would not come off mean but that maybe, just maybe WE want the leftovers ourselves to be free from cooking for a day or two?
yes, it is relative to you. But this still does not
make her beautiful and elegant.
It's been shot down....
You can relax. The satellite was hit yesterday and pieces are falling toward the ocean with the largest the size of a football. You can't worry about what you can't change. Go get some anxiety medicine or something, but grow up....
maybe a close relative the pet knows?

Bailed relative out
He was sinking deeper and deeper. Getting pay day loan from one place to pay off pay day loan for another place. We finally bailed him out ONLY because I kept a strict eye on his finances, wrote out the envelopes, told him on what day to send what payment, etc. Before I agreed to bail him out I wanted to know what he got paid (take home), what his bills were, etc. He was getting paid enough to pay his bills and have some money left over even after paying me a certain amount each month (he owed me $1800). I said it would take awhile but I didn't want him to be strapped and I told him I was allotting him money to do some "fun" stuff (the guy is 48 years old going on 12). Anyway...after about 2 months the little "you know what" decided to quit his job because one of his "you know what" friends told him he could collect more money through unemployment. Also he was tired of taking the bus to work and having to sit and listen to people and he couldn't sleep on the way to work...the poor baby! So instead he doesn't get rid of the car we told him to get rid of cos he couldn't afford gas and was driving around with no insurance. But he didn't do what we told him to, he quit his job and didn't tell us, and then when I called there they told me he quit 2 months earlier. Talk about being quite a bit "peturbed". I told him I spent at least 2 weeks figuring out his budget and he didn't have the decency to tell me he quit. So, blah, blah, blah 4 years later and he has paid me back $700. I told him if he had held onto his job he would have paid me back and if he saved any of the extra cash coming in he would have at least 25K in a savings account now. Sure wished I listened to the advice my grandfather told me growing up when he wouldn't lend me money to buy a car. He told me - never lend relatives money because they won't pay it back. Talk about hard lessons learned. - oh sorry...that was a totally different rant. I wish all those payday loan places would be shut down. They pray on the needy and people will never get out of it unless they go "cold turkey". Don't know how many times we told brother-in-law he needs to do without something, but he never listens...always self gratification and forget everyone else....oops...sorry again....another rant. P.S. We don't talk to relative very much anymore
Which relative tortures you the most?

Relative newlywed
A little over 2 years and still feels like the honeymoon period. We got along fabulously before and still do.
I think we get along so well due to mutual respect and consideration. In fact we're so considerate of each other a few of our friends say we're 'sickening,' lol!
I figure as long as we don't veer off course in this area, we're good to go pretty much for a few decades.
I have a relative who has a wealth of knowledge
and was telling her about the posts on this board, namely this thread. She tells me she got a high school graduation and later baby shower invite from her great niece- this person never called, never wrote- my relative said they went in the garbage. She and I are on the same page. BTW, I have gotten late calls on days, like Mothers Day, Thanksgiving- etc. from people and I, like you, think after thought.
No, I do not do this all the time. I have a relative coming from out sm
of town to visit. That's all.
Abe Lincoln is a distant relative
My children are direct descendants of Abraham Lincoln. Their father did all of the geneaology for his family and they traced it back to Abe Lincoln and his descendants, and my son was born on Abe Lincoln's birthday!
Anyone else have The Food Poisoning Relative
My sister-in-law has very long artificial nails which accumulate a lot of raw meat underneath them when she cooks I always get the crud. I try to warn the kids when she cooks breakfast to stick to the cold cereal!
JAN--A SISTER-IN-LAW IS NOT A BLOOD RELATIVE.

Pushy relative question
I have an aunt who lives across the country from me who I am pretty close to. She is my only family that I still speak with. (We basically mutually disbanded. It was for the better.) When I was in my late teens and early 20s, she was there for me when no one else was. I appreciate that and am very grateful. The problem is that now I am 37, am married and have 2 children. She hates my husband and my husband hates her. She has no children of her own and can be very bossy, pushy, rude, inconsiderate, condiscending (sp?) etc. Every time she comes for a visit or goes anywhere really, all she does is complain how it is not up to her standards somehow and she was slighted and wronged by someone. She has a terrible relationship with her husband's kids because of all the things I previously mentioned. Every time she comes and visits, my husband leaves "on buisness" because he can't stand to be around her. I don't mind because they will come to blows after a while together because he won't tolerate her BS. I have flat out told her that my husband does not like to have house guests overnight. He has offered to pay for her hotel room, but she insists that she stays with us. She has plenty of money (She's a millionaire.), but now again is insisting on coming to or house this year. I get so stressed out every time she comes. it makes me sick to my stomach. Any advice on how to deal with this. I hate to sound as if I don't love her, because I do, in spite of her shortcomings, which I realize we all have. Why won't she just stay in the nice hotel 3 minutes from my house?
I agree, even with the shot you can still
get it....and maybe even when you are an adult and get it worse.
Everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes things slip our minds. You are only human. Don't beat yourself up over it or let anyone else make you feel worse than you already do.
I hope he gets to feeling better real soon! :)
New Cancer Shot
I saw it on the evening news here in PA. Unfortunately, it is for real. There are two ways parents can opt out, but they have to jump through hoops to do it.
There are 8 more episodes that need to be shot
They aren't supposed to air until next year though! Can we wait that long?!
Just a shot in the dark here, but
it sounds to me like he has a warped mind regarding sex and women, the most likely culprit being pornography, or childhood abuse.
better shot of the front - sm
try, try again. This is before the previous owner refinished it, it is totally black now (with all the rust removed).
What is considered appropriate if a neighbor's relative passes away. SM
My neighbor's uncle passed away. She and I are friends, but not best friends, we basically see each other every day as we walk our dogs and we talk every day. Her uncle just passed away and I was unable to go to the wake. The funeral is today, but I cannot go to that either. What is the appropriate thing to do here, a card, flowers, what? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
I guess inexpensive is relative to the area...
I live in the SF Bay area where EVERYTHING is crazy expensive! She charges about 40% less than the going rate for someone at a comparable salon. It's probably more expensive than usual too because I have dark, dark hair that is overall highlighted to make it all blond. I guess that's probably more expensive than just a plain color job.
Anyway, thanks for your opinion!!!
Medicare questions for helping my relative
I have a relative who wants to live alone although she really needs some basic care such as grocery buying, food prepared, light cleaning in her home, going to doctors appointments, the very basics of everyday life. I will be able to pay through her bank what she needs for lights, cable and things like that (she has gotten to where she cannot make out a check because of tremors in her hands). She went to live with another relative and it has not worked out at all. She has been on her own for years and wants to be that way again as much as possible. Is there anyone out there who knows what Medicare does to help out the elderly and give me any information you might have.
Thanks, I'll give it a shot . . . nm

A military man shot his wife
This man was our son's recruiter when our son signed with the military three years ago. We had several meetings with him. He was a "fun" guy to be around, always smiling, always happy. But now, this and I can't get over the sick feeling in my stomach. He is on the run, of course. He left behind his little boy, with no mother and now no father. Temporary insanity?????
whoa!! That was a cheap shot LOL, but I'd rather have a

Good for you for giving it your best shot.
You obviously found something that attracted you to the man since you are with him. Any and all relationships require work. We are each different individuals, and in order to live together, need to find the balance that makes each happy.
Try a latte but ask for half a shot sm
a small drink usually is one shot, a medium larger is usually two shots - you can actually ask for decaf espresso also - there are so many things you can ask for - just tell them at your local shop what you told us here and see what they suggest. A latte is a shot of espresso topped with milk and then foam, a mocha is chocolate milk, so I would stick with latte for now - there are also frozen drinks at Starbucks with no coffee in them at all - but cannot think of the name right off the top of my head - good luck!!
That's a hilarious shot, showing
your dog's wrinkled forehead. I can tell it's part of his breed mix characteristic, but then again it kind of looks like he's worried that a rat is attacking his mama! HA!
Do you have to watch a domesticated rat all the time to make sure they don't chew your stuff? I've seen rabbits running around a store once, and they were chewing the walls up.
the kind of action that could get you shot in this

Yes. Gas prices have shot up $.60 per gallon
in less than two weeks here. I drove the kids home from school one day, made a mental note to get gas, and the price had gone up $.25 by the time I got back to the gas station. Ridiculous!
Anyone have a cat with reaction to rabies shot?
Has anyone here had an experience with their cat having a reaction to their rabies shot booster? My 4-year-old Persian just had a rabies booster 2 weeks ago at a new vet's office. (Just moved - have only been going there for about a year). My guess is they use a different brand or manufacturer of vaccine than my old one did.)
Yesterday morning, exactly 2 weeks after getting her shot and seeming just fine, I found a large, 2x2 cm lump on my cat's right lower hindquarter. Thinking it was a hair mat, I put on my glasses for a better look. It wasn't a mat; instead, it was a subcutaneous lump that felt similar to a lipoma, but was firmer, not as soft and squishy as a lipoma. She had also vomited 4 times during the night -- food, not hairballs. She's never done that before.
I took her to the vet right away, and they aspirated some fluid out of the lump, looked at it in a microscope, and said she had a lot of white cells. (She also had a fever). They sent off the slides to the lab to see if this might be vaccine-associated sarcoma - something I never even knew existed until yesterday! While waiting for the lab results, she's on an antibiotic, as well as an anti-inflammatory for 5 days.
So, I got on the internet and did some research about these vaccine-related sarcomas, and would advise any cat-owner to do the same thing. The information I found was NOT encouraging! Did you know that the occurrence of these sarcomas has been increasing since the early 90's, when they started making adjuvant (more inflammatory) rabies vaccines? The sarcomas are VERY aggressive in cats. (I had a former cat die in only 7 months after a mastectomy for breast ca. with adenosarcoma.) They think some cats may be predisposed to developing sarcomas at the site of injection for both rabies and the feline leukemia / FIP vaccines. The rescue where I adopted my cat advises its adopters not to get the leukemia/FIP vaccine, so I don't get that one. But this is the first I've heard about the rabies shot being dangerous, as well.
My reading brought to light the fact that vets almost always give the rabies shot as distally as possible in the RIGHT rear quarter. The reason? If a sarcoma forms, they're very invasive, and they found that tumors from shots given between the shoulder blades or in the scruff of the neck tended to spread into the spine and lungs. (Oh, GREAT....) Even more thrilling to learn is the reason they give the shot in the lower rear quarter: It's so that if the cat gets a sarcoma, the best chance they have of prolonging the cat's life is to amputate the entire leg.
Each state differs, but in California, rabies shots for cats are recommended, but NOT mandatory. Had I known this, and about the danger of the adjuvant rabies vaccines, I would have skipped the vaccine altogether. My vet recommended that if she gets a rabies shot in the future, (which I don't intend to do with either of my strictly indoor-only cats), there is a SAFER brand - Merial "PureVax". It's a non-adjuvant vaccine that is much safer. (My guess is that it's probably more expensive, too.) It's also apparently not easy to find. My vet office doesn't use it (WHY, I don't know, since they're recommending it...), so that's just one more reason for me to say "NO" to rabies vaccines in the future. However, If I were getting a new kitten, I would make sure it got the Merial PureVax instead of the regular kind, provided it's approved for kittens. It's disadvantage is that it's given yearly, rather than q.3 years.
Anyway, regardless of whether my cat's lab tests come back positive or negative for malignancy, after what I've learned from researching feline rabies shots, I thought I'd pass the information on to everyone who's interested, so they can talk to their own vets about it and at least make a more-informed decision about vaccinations than I did!
I can type 95 wpm, am a distant relative of Shirley Temple.

Can anyone tell Jan a sister-in-law is not family as far as blood relative, my goodness!
Her children, the children of my brother, would have been heirs BUT Jan, you need to understand TVA which is a huge place, never found them and took a year trying to do so. I never knew this money was there, never had anything to do with obtaining the money up front, nothing. TVA contacted me. I had to get death certificates which I was questioned about being as it was my stepmom and the dept wanted to know WHY I wanted that. I got her death certificate, the death certificate of my brother, the names- do you realize that I had to have this all notarized as to telling the truth. I do not now nor have I in the past years since 1973 had AN ADDRESS FOR THE SIL AND HER CHILDREN, MY NIECE AND NEPHEW. This has been 36 YEARS AND NO ADDRESSES. If the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) could not find, how was I supposed to find? You want me to hire a detective on my MT salary and go hunting is that right? You want me to take off from work and go to another state and look for someone when I have NO ADDRESSES in 36 YEARS and I might find? I probably would not have a job when I got back as even taking off long enough for a doctor's appt is frowned upon but you want me just to leave my home and look for persons I have no contact with. Do you understand how you sound? Why can you not get off this soap box and put more attention on your own affairs, that is the money your sister is getting off your mother. I understand where you are coming from but this has been settled now at least 3-4 years. I have stolen from no one. I did get 1 phone call after my father's funeral (remember those same kids you have said I stole from that did not show up at the funeral home nor funeral, they must have really cared about their g'father) and after about a week the SIL called to see what kind of money had been left to her son, my nephew. She was able to call because he wanted to see what he had coming to him. Don't give a flip about g'father, only the money he might have for you. None was there then. Take a rest, ok?
After he shot the first 2 victims, he mailed this package
to NBC I believe before he started the second assault. That was only part of the whole package. There were the pictures and a video that he apparently made over a long period of time. Some of what he says cannot be understood either because he is mumbling.
The package was given to the FBI and I am sure they will release some kind of statement after going over everything.
His thoughts were so erratic, and I find it odd how he did mention so many political references. I also think there might have been some molestation going on.
I do not think he did this because he was Korean, but that does not mean that his family were not anti-American and teaching him hateful propaganda which in turn could put that hatefulness in his heart towards others.
Most all Asian people I've known or been around are very productive members of society, very well educated, have good work ethics and are great people.
Something in this boy's life made him so hateful though. He was not just born that way.
And, revolution? That just sickens me. What did these kids do to anyone or to him for that matter?
lol - but she may have a shot with the governer being Arnold Schwartzenegger and all : (

WHy when I did a shot of whiskey it help my very very sore throat and cold??
It was suggested to me to do a shot of whiskey (which I hate by the way) because I had a very bad sore throat, the kind of sore throat that is deep down in your throat like towards the bottom of your neck...anyhow I had been battling this for over 5 days worse with it getting worse with each day...So, I do the shot of whiskey and it helped reduce the intense pain immediately and while my throat still aches, the intense deep pain is gone....Why does this work?
Must've been a small town, since nobody got shot. *sigh* NM

Sounds like you need another triple shot coffee drink
I thought you were going to tell me your kids told you something great about yourself.
Loved Lolabug's response (at least your not in denial) HA HA HA.
I read this and thought...wow...now there's someone who knows herself. HA HA. The only thing that I am best at doing is keeping my mouth shut when DH is yelling at me for something I didn't do.
What price range? I recently made a slide show for a relative (sm)
from their old photos
A shot of something might help, blackberry brandy, etc. Or that old tryptophan standby, a turkey
s
If I drank tea in middle of night, I'd pee 3-4x before sun up. A quick shot puts me right

I found this on Epinions, so can't verify the effectiveness, but worth a shot.
Fly Trap:
Need: 1) a glass jar, any size, but taller than wide
2) a piece of paper
3) a piece of masking tape
4) a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
5) a piece of decaying fruit
Put the vinegar in the jar and add water so that the liquid is about an inch deep. Add fruit bit. Twist the paper into a cone shape, leaving about a 1/2 inch opening in the bottom of the cone. Place the cone in the jar so that the opening is at least an inch, but not more than 2-3 inches, above the liquid. Tape the cone to the jar rim so that there is no opening other than the one at the base of the cone. Place the jar where there is air movement, as the flies will be drawn by scent. When the liquid starts to fill with dead flies, pour it out and make a new batch.
Just my size!
I'm not advertising for the name brand... just stating a fact
I don't mind underwires, however. I do tend to look for "full coverage"... I don't wear skimpy tops and if I did I wouldn't want it to look like a butt on my chest!
Anyway, with full coverage, underwire or not, I've never had a problem falling out, ever. So, that would be my only suggestion. I don't really have a preferred brand, just a style preference. I've got everything from Olga/Warner to Victorias Secret to Walmart and K-mart specials. If it fits, covers and I think it's pretty, I get it!
My 15 yo son is 6Ƌ and in a size
16 shoe, and getting ready for another growth spurt. I can always tell because for days he complains his legs hurt and then all of a sudden he is taller and shoes hurt his feet. Buying shoes for him is soooo much fun because when he finds shoes he likes, they usually go up to 13. Found a store that carries them up to size 20 now. I feel like I am going boat shopping when I take him shoe shopping. I was thinking of writing Shaq for leftover shoes....lol. My 13 yo daughter is 5ƍ and in a 9. Here I am at 5ƈ and a size 6 shoe. Daughter is looking into modeling but son is too tall for it they say.
What size is this?
My sister-in-law weighs about 300 pounds and is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall. I would like to buy her a nice pull over, but I do not know her size and I don't want to ask. Does anyone out there know what size this would be. I am guessing at the weight compared to my husband's (her brother) which I already know. What's the favorite store for plus sizes? I saw Lane Bryant was closing some stores, but are there any other good stores?
Plus size
I would think if she weighs 300 lbs and is 5' 6" tall, she wears a size 30, or 4X. If she's a little over 300 lbs, I'd get a size 32 or 5X.
I would also try to shop at Catherine's, CJ Banks Woman or Lane Bryant. They're better quality and last longer than the things I've gotten at Fashion Bug or any of the others. I do buy underpants and plain t-shirts at Walmart.
Catherine's is my personal favorite for both the styles and the prices.
If you're not 100% sure of her size, a gift certificate would be a safe way to go.
Oh look, they're having an "up to 70% off sale" right now!

Plus-size dresses
My friend is getting married in August and I need to find a dress quickly! Can anyone recommend a designer with a line of plus-size bridesmaid dresses? I'll require a size 14 or 16 depending on the fit (probably 14).
Also, I realize this is late and I may have to buy "off the rack" or via internet versus using a bridal shop. Any recommendations in the Philadelphia/So. Jersey area?
Noticed your plus-size??
I hate to be the one to tell you but the average size now in the states is a 14. I in no way consider that plus. Oh, to be a 14 again. See shoulda checked before hand- now that is not politically correct because it makes us hefty girls feel sad!
My DH had one on his shoulder about that size
He had to have it removed and did well afterwards.
