Cheap but effective, or even Vaseline with cotton gloves over your hands?

Bag Balm is great
Smelly, but it works. I used to use it years ago when I would run around barefoot outside and my heels would split. You definitely have to use that at night with cotton gloves on, though.
Do you put lotion on after every time you wash your hands? That will help, if you don't already. You might talk to your doctor to see if they have any really strong creams that would help during the day. I like Jergens Skin Firming lotion. It's really thick but doesn't leave my hands greasy after I use it. I like the smell, too.
Also, try putting neosporin on the splits at night and then put cotton gloves or socks on. That will help heal them. Neosporin with Pain relief is good stuff.
Bag Balm is the BOMB!!!
I use it on my hands, feet, and even on my lips at the first sign they're chapping. It's an inexpensive miracle in a cool-looking tin.
I'd try applying it to your hands when you go to bed at night with a pair of cotton gloves. I do this with my feet about once a week (using plain white socks instead of gloves, obviously), and in the morning my feet (even my heels) are as soft as a baby's bum.
Hope you get better soon, fellow MT!!!
Bag balm and sweat socks...Nasty but very effective...
My feet get so dry they crack and bleed, summer or winter. It takes me about 3 days of sleeping in sweat socks, but it works. Also I swear by anything with shea butter in it, especially anything from Bath and Body Works rocks!!!. I also swear by Gold Bond Ultimate Soothing skin therapy lotion. It has shea butter in it too and it rocks too. There is no real smell to it so if you are allergic or sensitive, then this will work.
I wonder if we could somehow augment our MT salaries by being spokespeople for these companies. LOL.
I swear by Gold Bond Hand Cream. or Bag Balm. sm
I keep a tube of the Gold Bond right next to my keyboard. I am ALWAYS putting it on. It has a really light smell. I use Bag Balm at night with a pair of cheap cotton gloves I got at our local mission store. I also use Bag Balm on my heels aned feet both winter and summer as they are so dry they will crack and bleed. I have also heard of something called "Cornhuskers Lotion". I tried it once and it was too thin and runny. Or perhaps the lotion with the fisherman on it. Norwegian something or other.
