I broke ribs and arm. His head alone was probably 30 pounds. I have a big guy now, lab/great dane, but Rotties are huge. Oh they slobber a ton. But I guarantee no one will come in your yard who is not welcome when he is there!

I think puppies are so cute when they do that
looks like he was done in from play time and ready for some serious relaxation. How old do you think he is?
Good question - I fell last night and my dh didn't even help me get up (sm)
I mean I fell really hard and hurt myself and he didn't offer to help.
I really hope things get better for you, whatever your sadness is about.
Talk about having the breath knocked out of you,
to have your child tell you something like this is devistating. I never let her sleep around, tried talking, telling her about things going on with a disease you could not get rid of. A parent can only do so much. I had started typing on this disease before it had a name, before anyone knew what was going on- early 80s and the reports were horrible, bleeding from every orifice, Kaposis, the Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, everything and then your child tells you that? Almost more than a parent can hear. That was in 1992. She has since married and so far, so good, thrived but the least little anything sends me more into a tizzy than it does her because like I said, I used to type 1 after another report day after day. She is in her 30s now and I try not to hover but she is still my daughter. When first diagnosed I could not even talk about it without crying. Bought loads of sweeets and fattened her up as well as myself - heard about failure to thrive and not really thinking, that was what I was doing. I tried talking, I really tried- I do not blame myself nor do I have guilt feelings because I could not have talked more.
Rotties
bad: People will probably be scared of them. They get stereotyped easily as mean dogs. Your landlord or homeowners insurance may have an issue with it, again because of stereotyping. They are considered working dogs and are very intelligent. If they are left alone too much or get too bored, they can be destructive, just because they're trying to find something to do, so you have to really keep their brains engaged.
good: Loyal, loyal, loyal. If trained properly they are fabulous dogs. No one who owns a rottie will ever tell you anything different. They mix well with other dogs and even cats. Great family dogs, too. They are a very large dog, so your pet food bill will be high, but I don't think you'd regret it. You need to have a lot of room for them, though - both in the house and in the yard. I was babysitting a rottie and I have a very small house and he just sort of took up the whole space when he was in the house. He was a great dog - just sort of looked at the cats and said, yeah, whatever. I was really sorry to see him go home.
Hahaha, cute. Dogs are not only smart, they are good neighbors. nm

I have had two network cards knocked out by lightening.
Storms knocked our electricity the other night
and there was nothing else to do, so we went to see Kung Fu Panda. The whole family loved it!
Rotties, dobermans and several others
are also not allowed even if you own your own home in the city I live in.
I have had 3 Rotties and a Chow.
They were all great dogs. Well socialized, never any problems with aggression. Great with kids, cats, and horses. But Rottweilers are not for first-time big dog owners. They can be very domineering. You HAVE to establish that you are the boss. They HAVE to be well trained, at 132 lbs, my male is too big of a dog for me not to have complete control over him at all times. You simply cannot take a chance on a dog of any size getting out of hand, especially a big one. You also have to watch for bad breeding, as they have been in-bred so much.
Despite short hair, they shed constantly. We won't even talk about the drool and slobber, but be prepared to clean car windows a lot if he rides in the car (mine have all loved car rides). They eat ALOT and poop ALOT . . .
But I love my Rotties and would get another one in a minute. You just need to know what you're getting yourself into.
If you rent, it may not be allowed. Rotties, pits,
dobermans, chows, and german shepards are often on landlords 'not allowed' lists, for liability reasons.
I'm a dog-person, and have known quite a few rotts, and none of them were friendly to anyone but their master.
I think one of the best choices for a 'first big dog' would be a labrador retriever. Laid-back, not as barky, usually love everyone, great family dogs, yet big enough to possibly deter a burglar.
Lab Puppies
I know there are a lot of animal lovers on the board here. I have a litter of Lab Pups for sale. They are 8 weeks old and last week I had no phone calls or e-mail about them. I have them in the local newspaper and Puppyfind web site and Next Day Pets website and gundogs online. Does anyone have any suggestions about where else I can advertise to get them good homes! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Puppies
Hi,
I have 3 yellow boys left and 2 red boys left. I live in Ohio! They are AKC registered with the first shots and wormings. They will be 9 weeks old on Friday August 8th.
Thanks
Heather
If they fell in love with us, as we were...sm
why do they want to change us completely? Yes, I know there are reasons of health to lose weight, but if you're told your weight is "disgusting," that doesn't sound like concern for health. My husband was exactly like that with me - which is probably a big reason why he's now my EX-husband. We went back & forth for many years trying to work things out, but I'll never again settle for less than the love/commitment/respect that I feel I deserve, even though it means I may be somewhat lonely for the rest of my life. Good luck to you, whatever you decide!
I fell asleep at the end, but
I believe the ones below the yellow line were Brittany and Jenn, and that we won't find out until the next show which one was eliminated.
The girls sure are stressed out by having 2 people return, and one of them not Bernie. It's a shame he was just 2 pounds short of having the highest percent weight loss of the previously eliminated players. It would have been nice to have him back.
Jillian certainly did have some weird outbursts. I don't think it agrees with her to not have the big burly guys on her team.
There is too much to watch on Tuesday nights!
Have the puppies arrived?
How are mum & pups doing?
Precious puppies! nm
.....
I did not see the show. Fell asleep
but heard on the news that she was throwing a hissy fit back stage and now I just looked at the video on Youtube and pretty funny.
Fell asleep last night on CSI NY - (sm)
The one where 19year old girl in the hospital after a wreck was murdered. Fell asleep before I could find out who suffocated her. Anyone?
I fell in love last night.
I was browsing youtube.come last night and I found a video by Erasure sing O’Lamaur. I fell in love. Just a while ago, I looked at it again and saw the comments. Come to find out he is gay and has HIV. I know, I know even if he was straight he would not have anything to do with me but it was a nice fantasy while it lasted. LOL. I also watched the video to Always and not only can the guy sing but he can do acrobats. I had never seen these videos before but this was the music I used listening to while getting dressed in the morning to go to high school. We could not afford cable back then.
I love 80s music maybe because it takes me back to a time before I had real responsibility as in kids, mortgage, line counts. It drives my husband nuts.
I think he also fell out of a palm tree while
.
Once, right in the nose and fell down/passed out
for a few minutes. Ouch! It was 25+ years ago by another girl over a boy, but unfortunately she was probably double my weight. My sisters weren't very helpful, they lifted me back up and while I was still stumbling around and seeing double said ''get her!''. Yeah, sure. Even the girl was decent enough to know I couldn't handle any more. So I took the loss :(
You fell for that ONE OF A KIND crap, too?? nm
xx
I have been but fell asleep last night.
Who got "desashed". I don't know why I enjoy it...but I do think it is real. I watch more reality TV than anything. I know, I need to get a life!
I didn't know you could still buy puppies & kittens
at a pet store. I have seen that in years.
Aren't those puppies the cutest!
I have a female Siberian husky who is the absolutely sweetest dog I have ever had. I'm sorry for your loss.
Some puppies just take longer, and some breeds S/M
are sometimes know to be more of a challenge. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. Maybe your local animal shelter could give you some help on this issue. Just like kids, they are a responsibility and will sometimes cause you some aggravation, but the love and happiness you get from her will outweigh the training period, I am sure.
I pulled 5 puppies the other day and guess what?
A lady had turned her Pomerarian in because she said was aggressive. I asked the lady who was with me if she wanted to pull that one also she said no, those were highly adoptable and so we left that one. The lady at the place said the dog not aggressive, just being the breed it is with the nipping and such.
I have lost puppies to parvo before
and some have pulled through. The dogs can literally get down and die overnight. One thing I can tell you is the fact parvo can stay in your yard for ever and ever. I never got rid of it in mine over say 10 years or so. Question to you, how old is your puppy and when you took to the veterinarian, was the puppy carried in or walked in? Sorry you have this problem and I will say a little prayer for the furry one.
GEEZ, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing!
I really do appreciate this laugh! LOL
oh but yes, they were very careful with screening all the applicants for the puppies. nm

Question about potty training puppies...
Please no one poke fun at my question... I have never potty trained a puppy before and have a few questions. I have a 12 week old Corgi boy named Cody.
How long does it take to potty train a dog. Is it 6 months or longer or should he have the idea down for the most part by age 3 months?
The one thing that I do not understand is why after I take him outside, he will go pee (it seems like he is completely emptying his bladder), I will praise right away, then we go back inside and 5 minutes later he dribbles on the carpet. I'm sure this is normal, but I am not sure what to do about it. Should I put him back in his pet crate immediately?
I know there are a lot of dog experts on this board... I appreciate any advice you can give.
Thanks! Melissa (and Cody)
Love puppies of all kinds! How precious yours must look
c
Lots of chewie toys, because puppies
like to chew. And I have seen Springer Spaniel calendars at either Borders or Petco.
Anyone ever been to Fell's Point in Maryland close to Inner Harbor. What can you tell me about
this area of Fell's Point.
My auto clock fell back too, just had to adjust it...
make sure to check yours again next Sunday morning. The auto clocks are on the previously scheduled time change rotation, not the new one (my clock is 2 years old). the newer ones should be on the right schedule.
I read that and almost fell of my chair I was laughing so hard....
but that was my first impression too, eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwww, that's gross and disgusting. LOL.
I've got a fullbred Jack Russelll Terrier = perpetual luny puppies! NM

How cute is that?
Once again, out of the mouths of babes!
these are cute!
I have a brother that would have been good for doing such things. He use to try to scare my mom too. one time he had a halloween tape and called her up (mind you he was just upstairs in his bedroom) from his phone and play some pranks. in the beginning she believed these were real callers!
That is just too cute! sm
My little guy barks like mad and runs and takes the toy, then hides it. My big guy likes to tear them up.
cute ! nm

You are just too cute!
Check out my new one! I don't do very well with pies either, but I sure can bake a birthday cake! I love the beach! My husband and I plan to retire there just as soon as we get these children through high school! So, my daughter decides (she's 7 now), that she is just going to retire with us after high school! Yeah, right! No way, Jose, you're going to college girl! LOL, LOL
No not cute, but certainly not an act
problems. You can teach your child to have manners, but the original post was in regards to a "school" rule that the child would be taken away from the general population and "punished". I just think there are much more that we could focus on than a natural process of the bodily functions. Just say excuse me, and move on. Whoever is making the big deal about the actual act is "the problem" and not too cute. I do not agree with you there. I do not laugh or make a big deal about it, I just move on. I still don't believe a child that passes gas should be sent to detention unless they are being obnoxious. I will tell you though that because my child had a "track record", he got blamed for every incident as if no other child in the class was guilty, and it really kind of ticked me off that my son was being accused, when they really had no proof at all.
how cute!!
bet they were darling...little pit puppies in coats. Mine is black lab/pit mix and she is a rescue, from southern California. We are now in the Tahoe area and she cannot stand the cold (but loves to play in the snow - go figure). She needs a coat and mittens and boots but I could never convince her. Whenever it gets above 55 degrees out, she finds a spot of sun in the backyard and lays out soaking up the rays, probably dreaming of those warm California days gone by.
How cute -
the comedian I saw on Comedy Central who said he found his 6-year-old nephew yelling at his Easter basket. When asked what he was doing, the boy replied, * I'm giving a shout out to my peeps *
How cute! Thanks! nm

How cute is that?!
Oh my word that is ADORABLE!! I can never get pictures to work
though--somehow a quotation mark always winds up in there that I don't put
in. I looked at the html code too and I don't see them, yet when I try it,
some reason they get put in there. Very frustrating....one last try then I
give up.
