A friend of mine has this
and she has accupuncture monthly which says helps her tremendously. She also changed her diet around a lot but I don't know the details of that. I'm sure you could Google it tho'.
A friend of mine had the same
problems as you did. I'm sorry you spent so much money for such a lousy vacation. A friend wanted to come home early because of the same things you mentioned.
I experienced the same thing in Puerto Rico. I found the people to be very rude. The hotel was nice but unfortunately not the people. I would never set foot there again.
I just returned from Aruba and absolutely loved it. We stayed at the Riu Palace and it was so beautiful. The people were exceptionally nice and went out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The food was excellent. The beach and water were beautiful. I plan on returning next year.
A friend of mine only had a
viewing/wake for immediate family & close friends only & didn't have a formal funeral. Sometimes I think that's the way to go. It always seems insensitive to me how everyone treats a funeral like a party, laughing and having a good time while the family is so torn up. It doesn't seem very respectful.
A friend of mine got her
accounting degree from Phoenix University, and she has an accounting job now.
Just ran into a friend of mine tonight who see msg
is doing a lot of research and warned me about the harmful effects of microwaves on food. Studies show that cholesterol levels in many studies is actually elevated in foods when heated in a microwave. There are other effects as well.
Also, I used to take the warnings about aspartame rather lightly, hearing both good and bad. Last year on the Today Show they reported that a study from Duke University claimed it was safe. I think after tonight and after doing a search on it I will try to avoid it altogether. I think I am safer with sugar or Stevia.
Just wanted to pass this along. I know this information is probably not new, just somewhat shocking and worrisome to me.
I've never had one but a friend of mine
did. She was 15 at the time and after a lot of pressure from her parents and her boyfriend's parents, she had one. She still feels guilty to this day.
Personally, I am pro-choice. There are just too many variables to make it 1-sided. Fortunately, I've never been in the situation of having an unwanted pregnancy. I have always used birth control (2 forms before I got married and then just the pill after marriage). I've had 3 pregnancies, each of them planned. We've decided that we do not need anymore children, so I've had a tubal. If that ever fails, I would carry the pregnancy, unless it posed a significant health risk to me. I'm not thinking of myself in this case, but my 3 children who need a mom.
I do think that abortion has become a method of birth control for so many. There need to be limitations and guidelines to its use, but please don't take it away completely. I also believe that pregnancy has become a way for many young, unwed, uneducated mothers to get a free check every month. I think those children should be adopted out, also. But these are just my opinions.
A friend of mine was treated much
worse than that right after surgery. For one thing they wouldn't even fix the broken A/C even though her room was about 90 degrees! The plastic surgeon botched her surgery, so she had huge open wounds he couldn't close. She was allergic to tape, and could only tolerate one kind, but even as she'd tell nurses this, they'd stick Band-Aids on her! So it wasn't even just ONE bad nurse - the whole bunch was careless at best all the way up to sadistic. She should have sued.
Sounds like friend of mine
A friend once told me that when she goes to a restaurant she and her husband get down on their knees and pray at their table. I asked why they do that. Her response was "We are setting a good example for everyone to see"
A pilot friend of mine
who flies in and out all the time said he wouldn't take his family there OR let his children ever go there for spring break or anything else. It's too dangerous. There's a lot the tourist are lucky they didn't run into. Kidnappings are taking place more and more as the drug business is booming and people being held for ransom to make MORE money. Innocent tourists have been killed in crossfire in drug related shoot outs. I just say better safe than sorry; there are lots more places to vacation than this.
A good friend of mine had a lap band
However there are a lot of hoops to jump through testing wise before you can have those procedures done including a psychiatrist. Also if you do not follow the directions you can become sick, which means you cannot over eat and must exercise. She is doing fine with it, but did it mainly because her back bothered her so much. Come to find out her back is still an issue and she needs surgery to correct that. So, if it is a last resort, I'd say it is worth a try, but I would not do it with all of the complications and risk of infections unless it is a serious must.
I love them too...a friend of mine got me hooked..
I am now on 9...Stephanie Plum is a great character. I love the East Coast references because I grew up in Philly, so TastyKakes have a special place in my heart!
I'm a "healthy gal" as a friend of mine likes to say
Just a bit over 200 pounds now, which I never thought would happen to me. I was always able to hover around 150 until I hit my mid 30s and then I just packed it on like a bear going into hybernation. I started WW in April and lost most of those 11 pounds right away. Then vacation came along and I just got out of the habit. I KNOW the program works. My grandmother did it in the 1970s and was lifetime member until the day she died. You just have to make up your mind it's time to get serious. I'm convinced no diet or lifestyle change will stick unless you're ready to commit 100%. I'm back on track again and hope to be in Onderland (below 200, as it is called on the WW chat boards) very quickly.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Like I said, it isn't easy.
A friend of mine did some prostitution for awhile
It was before I knew her. She was very young and homeless and trying to survive. While her case isn't what we're talking about here, as she would have been underage anyway, I still can't imagine putting someone in jail and calling them a criminal because they're trying to survive the only way they know how. And of course, once you have that criminal record, it makes it even more difficult to change your life circumstances. It breaks my heart to think of her as young girl and everything she went through. Today you'd never know she lived that kind of life unless you really knew her and could see the emotional scares she carries (most of which aren't from the prostitution but from the abuse and incest she survived). She's an amazing person, with a huge heart, who spends most of her time fighting against poverty for those who can't speak for themselves.
While I don't know the mind of a prostitute, I'd imagine that most fall into the profession because they have few options available to them. Some don't have options, family support, education.
I think by leglizing and regulating it, you'd have less disease and less drug abuse.
A friend of mine stayed in a very nice chalet when she went. SM
I can't remember the name of the place, but very quaint A-frame chalets. They didn't have indoor pools or anything like that, but there was a pool on the complex. The location was awesome from the pictures I saw. They seemed to be in the woods surrounded by trees and a stream right next to the cabin. I'll see if I can find out the name of the place. She was pretty friendly with the lady who ran the place and has stayed there several times.
I am invited to a Birthday party for a friend of mine, whom
I have known for many years. Her mother and my mother were friends. Her mother died a few years ago.
The problem is that I am a nonsmoker and my family all 100% nonsmokers. I maintain a smoke free environment at all costs. My friend smokes heavily as well as about 95% of her family. They will all be there. I have some health issues, not respiratory, and I do not want the second-hand smoke exposure. In addition, my eyes burn, my hair and clothes reek of smoke, etc. What do I do? This is a special birthday for her marking a milestone. If I don't go it won't look good. . . if I do go I will be very heavily exposed to the smoking for the duration of the party, I am sure. What do do? Thanks for any advice you can give.
A friend of mine told me about these cute blankets
She's making them for her nieces, and her daughters (11 and 8) actually want to give their cousins these blankets. She also bought the fabric from a local craft store and plans to attach a book. Gift done with love! Love homemade gifts!!
A very good friend of mine had ablation and no regrets.
She has no more periods. This is just a little over a year, and she was having very serious problems, had to have transfusion twice due to the heavy bleeds prior. She was willing to try this before hysterectomy, and it worked for her.
A friend of mine is a chemist (Ph.D.) and specializes in solvents.
She knows exactly how various detergents work, and she says Tide is the best. I can afford to use Tide, because I use so little detergent. We have a front-loading washing machine and it uses much less detergent that top loaders. Rather than use detergents made specifically for front-loaders, I just use a very tiny bit (about the size of a quarter) of liquid Tide. I get a small bottle with coupons, and it lasts me months doing laundry for 3 people.
This happened to a friend of mine from high school........sm
He had mono after we graduated from high school and was off work for about 5 weeks. He went back to work too early and, while driving home from work one day, his spleen just burst and he crashed into an oncoming log truck, killing him instantly. It was really a double tragedy because the first people on the scene to find him were his mom and dad, who had a bad heart anyway. His dad suffered a major MI on the spot and had to be taken to the ER. His poor mom lost her son that day and almost lost her husband.
A friend of mine has a husband with myasthenia gravis
and it affects his eyelids. He can't hold them open and had special glasses made witih a wire that he puts under both eyelids for support. I hope it's not that, and certainly may be something else, but I think an ophthalmology exam is in order and then maybe referral to a neurologist. Good luck. Keep us posted.
Every time my mom sent my best friend and I sm
to pick berries there were never enough to make a cobbler. We ate more than we picked.
Reread and don't see anything I did not see the first time. Try being a better friend.
If she were mine, I would accept her with all her faults, if I were really her friend. You are judging on something you seem to know so little about. I see another MT signed on telling you forgetfulness is not what she nor I want to do, it is just us. Thank goodness, not disowned because I forget!!
Sounds likea control freak and a doormat. Friend of mine just divorced after 23 yrs of being the

He was gambling at the hotel at the time with another friend. He was there. nm

A funeral is not the time or place for your friend to take a stance over something done 10 yrs ago.
I don't mean to sound harsh, but for your friend to even "think" about saying anything right now would be selfish and inconsiderate. He has had 10 years to deal with this issue. Why now??
I really tried to look at this issue from all angles and to be honest, just really don't "get it." I can't understand why anyone would feel the need to change a name they have had for at least 18 years. If my daughter changed her name, I would be absolutely devastated. Unless she was in the Witness Protection Program, I would continue to call her by the name she was given after 26 hours of labor and delivery. I'm not sure I could call her by another name even if I wanted to. It may not sound like much, but your friend is really asking a lot from people. Old habits DO die hard and this is so much more than just a habit.
If a friend of mine did this and it meant THAT much to her, I suppose I would try to make her happy. Without knowing all of the details, it's hard say for sure. One thing I do know is that if your friend is going to address this, he needs to wait for the appropriate opportunity. The timing he chooses could have a significant impact on the outcome.
Do you mind me asking why your friend did something this drastic?
That's about the time I would have gotten dressed, called up a girl friend - sm
And gone to a movie or something. I would also make dern sure that I got home at least an hour AFTER he gets home. Let him wonder.
Mine used to do that ALL the time!! sm
This was a long time ago... she's in kitty heaven now (died when she was 20!).
But it was when I had a giant monitor and she would sleep on top of it. I think I would watch her more than the monitor to try to see when she was getting ready to pounce.
Big ol' desk. But she always aimed for the C-phone and hit her target many times.
Times have changed. She was very confused when the C-phone disappeared (internet MTing now) and then when I got a new monitor? Oh my!! Poor thing couldn't figure out where her perch had gone.
She died shortly after that... guess there was no reason to live if she couldn't make me miserable! ;-)
She was a sweetie, though!
Time for me to clean mine out cuz if I don't
the health department is going to condem it.
mine farts all the time anyway,
Must be a "man-thing".
I lock mine all the time
I'm a little paranoid, but then again, I'm a female living alone. You never know. All it takes is one time... I feel better knowing I have a big dog, but now I'm nervous someone might steal him! LOL
I remember mine as abt the same time as a Pap sm
to return. Don't worry; i had same thing, Pap was taken around time of my period and thus gave a false positive type of reading.
I liked mine & so did baby but only for a short time (sm)
To me, it was really only good when the baby was very young. I never tried to use it with them sitting up on my hip or anything like that. But when they are tiny, those things are great. Also keeps the wind off of them :-)
what are the dates of your 3 exp.? Will share mine later; no time right now.

Friend has a Cuisinart grind and brew type, dispenses 1 cup at a time. Great coffee! nm

Mine informs me of these sorts of things all the time (sm)
He usually doesn't miss the actual entire holiday though -just goes early that morning or something. It is very aggravating. I don't know what to say because I end up arguing about it. If my husband was trying to be gone for the entire Thanksgiving holiday I would have a fit.
I also cooked mine for a short time and then put them in the oven and
from time to time would baste with sauce. I had the oven low and cooked them slowly and they were wonderful. My family just loved them when I invited them over for dinner. You made me hungry for them. It has been a long time since I made them. Mine were not fancy, just good!!! Good luck!
a friend's b/friend died last year, drank, took vicodin...
Another note, you said there must be more to it because
I simply responded because someone else posted that they wouldn't shop at WalMart.
You would not believe what was on my op note....
I had a doctor who falsified my op note. I had several procedures (plastic) including a face lift. He forgot the face lift! Yes, that is right. When I went and checked the medical record, the op note not dictated yet and when I approached him at his office he gave me an "IOU" on his office stationary with him signing his name. Yeh, right. I only asked for the up front payment I made for the face lift that I did not get and 8 months later he dictated the op note, except he included the face lift portion in it. I have an unusual last name so that would not be the problem. I went thru mediation and he even called my home twice in a threatening type voice. I worked there at the hospital where he is the head over that department and I just finally let it go- I believe in Karma... so
Should be " a more serious note"-

Just another note
I'm so glad I wasn't "blasted" for my thoughts and its nice that people respect other people. You did have some good opinions too. One thing I should have mentioned though is that I don't have kids and I think that plays such a bigger role for people who do, and it is easier for me to make my decisions about moving on with my life than it would be for someone else.
Growing up it was the other way around. My mom cheated on my dad. My dad was a truckdriver, and yes he may have had women on the road but we never heard about it. My mom on the other hand we knew was having affairs (there's nothing more disgusting than being 15 and 16 years old and your mom's boyfriend is singing to her the song "I want to make love to you"). My mom also became pregnat by a sailor at the navy base when I was 3 years old and we ended up moving 2 states away where she had the baby and gave him up for adoption, unfortunately 3 months after she gave the baby up for adoption my little sister who was 16 months old died from meningitis. My dad ended up staying with my mom until my sister and I were old enough to understand why they were divorcing (which was 12 years later). We loved both my mom and dad equally. Mom's now in heaven with baby sister and grandparents etc.
Anyway...what I'm trying to say is in my case I would have an easier time dealing with this type of situation (because of no kids).
As for the hollyweird people I don't think any of them (or at least the majority of them) ever think when they get married it's going to be for life. They are just a different breed of people. Oh sure, they get on TV and say this is for life, but then 3 months later they turn around divorce and a week later marry someone else. I do think Brad & Jennifer were quite different than the usual crowd. I did feel bad for her when all that happened.
In my case I am committed while I am in the marriage, but if anything did happen I wouldn't be devistated because I'm basically doing everything myself anyways, but having an affair is just not something my husband would ever do (just not in his nature), but I also just look at life a little differently and figure if anything ever happens I will be committed to making myself happy.
End note!...sm
Perhaps I shoulda put in my first post that you seem to be rather mean-spirited. I heard it in your first post indicating that you're above it all. The second post was absolutely atrocious....(I am the grandaughter of...yada, yada, yada). Piffle and snot!
Hayseed is very tender-hearted, has extraordinary wit and humor, thinks before she speaks/posts, and works very hard.
Please don't mess with my friend. End note. Cat

Of further note...
My husband and I started going to counseling for us to have someone to talk to about the ex and get ideas on how to handle difficult situations with the child. We then slowly introduced the child after the counselor found out information and suggested it.
Just a note to all
I was reading all your posts and this thought came to mind. We don't live in the days of when I was growing up in the 50s. Things were very safe and we never locked our doors. But times are different. There are so many horrible crimes and in placed nobody ever dreamed would happen. Like one of the posters below said, I too have seen news where a crime happened and the people would say, we just never thought it would happen here. To all who think its safe or no big deal, it is a big deal and for all your safety I would please just take the extra 5 or 10 seconds it takes to turn the lock on your door. It takes but a second or two but an act that could possibly one day save your life. For all those who think your towns are safe, there are so many people who think the same thing and you see them on the news. One incident in particular that comes to mind is a town in Pennsylvania where a bunch of Amish school girls were killed. My point is that while everyone wants their town to remain a very safe place where everyone loves their neighbor and is so safe to leave your doors unlocked, it really is not that way anymore.
So, please just take the extra step and turn the lock at night.
Did he see the note?
It sounds like you told him about the note. I think his reply is pretty standard and that if he can deny it, blame it on "one of the guys" at work, and that be the end of it, then he's going to stick with his story.
It has a note on it.
It is three months behind and they are about to repo it. So that isn't an option.
Just a note
Not MY experience, but last year my mom (60 yo, well past menopause start) experienced abnormal bleeding. Turned out to be endometrial ca. They performed TAH and she went through radiation therapy. Did very well, and her last check ups were very good. I think time between diagnosis and surgery was a few weeks. My advice, don't stress too much between now and seeing your doc.
A note on my baby
I left a message on the board about how my babies F/L was measured short and the doctor told me the baby probably had down syndrome. Well, I went to see a specialist who was very upset with the previous doctor and he did a level II ultrasound and my baby is perfect and normal. They do not measure the F/L for down syndrome. They measure the humerus bone. Anyway to make a long story short-----thanks to all who responded !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and the baby has very long legs......
side note--sm
and don't forget to remove the neck and giblets in the bag inside the turkey prior to baking. I learned from experience. :^)
I don't get this from her note, her DH was supposed -sm
to be helping with the kids so she could bring home money. I am sure he has no problem spending any money she makes, but he does not want to be inconvenienced in the course of her making the money. I know, I have the same problem but not as bad as she does. My older daughter did not even know she had a dad basically until she was about 19 months old, then my DH had absolutely no choice but to help as I gave birth to our second daughter. At that point he'd probably only changed 2 diapers. But with kid #2 he helped more than he did with the first one, but still under some duress. To this day he still won't brush their hair, or supervise/help with teeth brushing (he says he doesn't know how to do it, well he does it himself so where is the problem), they are 6 and 8 now. You never feel pestered by your kids, you get on the phone and instantly they want you and nag you to death until you either lock yourself in the bathroom or get off the phone, then they don't want/need you anymore. Yes, I feel pestered sometimes, doesn't mean I don't want to take care of my children, I'd die for them if necessary. The poster is frustrated, obviously being verbally abused and has a jerk for a DH. I can relate and I am sure many others can too. It is hard to be supermom, work, clean, take care of the kids/house, make DH happy, everyone but you comes first, and then when the DH has to actually help out boy you'd think you were cutting off his leg. Well, mine is not like that now, but he used to be. Now he is good about it and likes his time with the kids on his own but they are older now and easier to deal with. They still can drive you nuts though. I hope she can somehow get him to turn around, maybe stop working for 2 weeks and when he sees the money is not coming in maybe he will realize just how important it is that she have the time to work without interuptions and pitch in some to lighten her load.
