A friend of mine has a blog - below - which lists lots of info on ways you can help if you can. Completely devastating what has happened to so much beautiful land and people and animals homeless.

Yes, thoughts go out to all in CA in the fires.
My brother-in-law is in Sylmar, which is in the San Fernando Valley. I think he is too far north of the fires, but if the winds continue, who knows. Going to try and call and see if everything is okay.
In the middle of the CA fires
We definitely need prayers. I am in Thousand Oaks, California, inland between Malibu and fires on the other side - Piru, Canyon Country, Stevenson Ranch. Breathing is almost impossible. The first day we were clouded completely in white smoke and ashes everywhere. All the windows have been closed for days, and still I find fine dust and ash all over inside the house. I have been here in this town for 26 years, and have never ever seen winds like these. It is unbelievable. We get a break in the wind, and the sky clears, but just when you think it is over, there is another fire erupting somewhere nearby. So far, no fires in the immediate town, just smoke drifting over to our city. We need prayers. If I am a nervous wreck I can imagine how heartbreaking it is for the people who have lost everything to the fires. They say maybe this will let up tomorrow. I can't image another day of this. The winds are so strong, my yards are destroyed. All the flowers in the beds are down, my vegetable garden is ruined, and there are tree branches all over my roof. This too will pass.
California Fires, so horrible. On FOX
they were just showing a San Diego reporter reporting on watching his home burning. He had lived there for 25 years. So sad.
ICK!!! I'll take earthquakes, fires, mudslides,
But giant flying cockroaches? Eeewwww!
aussie fires and animal rescue
Animal lovers please check out rspca.org.au or rspcavic.org for info on donating to animal rescue efforts during current devastating fire in Aus. I know everybody is broke now, but if at all possible let's help out.
Australian fires and Koala rescued
It is so sad when a fire takes over and to think of the helpless animals who have no idea what is happened. This Koala story just touched me. In this link if you scroll down there is a video tape of the firefighter giving the Koala some water.
