excuse my lack of knowledge, but
I thought medicinal marijuana was legalized in CA some time ago. What a horrible situation, this calls for an uprising, let the power of the people be heard. That is exactly why this stuff is going on - we let it.
Its for the knowledge you get out of it
When I was in horse 4H, I had a pony, not a horse. They gave us a handbook that taught us all about horses, the names of all the parts of the horse, proper grooming and saddling, etc. I learned a lot from those meetings (they were at a farm where they had horses to demonstrate on). They also had trail rides, etc., which my father refused to let me attend because he was a mean guy (his reason was my pony was so short I was likely to be kicked by someone in front of me with a tall horse). I did learn a lot and enjoy it, but eventually the disasppointment of never getting to go on any horse activities did me in, and I dropped out. It did enable to be better around horses, and I went on many rides at my aunt's on her horses, and could always saddle them to her satisfaction. I'd say, let him go and see how much he can learn.
Anyone with knowledge of strokes? (sm)
My father had a stroke two weeks ago and did not tell anyone - he lives an hour away and I had not seen him - I had talked to him quite a few times on the phone and he kept saying everything was great. He has a roommate and apparently had told the roommate not to tell me. So when I saw him in person Friday night, he told me. It was not really obvious at that time, except when I saw him walk in front of me I noticed one of his legs seemed to drag a little. I pleaded with him to go home with me and let me take him to a doctor. But he kept insisting that he was not going to go, that it was two weeks ago and he was okay. Finally on Monday, my brother (in Florida) convinced him to let me take him to the doctor, so he said he would let me take him on Tuesday (yesterday) after he got a haircut and got all of his things in order. Well, Monday evening he got a terrible headache and a pins and needles feeling and his roommate took him to the ER where I met them. By this time he could barely walk and had severe shaking in his left leg and arm. He had another mild stroke yesterday evening. He cannot even walk with the aid of a walker. Here is my question: Once a person loses function due to stroke can they ever get any of the function back or is it permanent? Can rehab help them like it helps accident victims?
It might be public knowledge but
how you obtain is another matter. You cannot get someone in a public office (as stated below) to ramble through a persons records. That my dear is against the law and that is what was said and not only that but if the person committed crimes when a child or teenager, those records are sometimes totally off limits and closed to the public. I also have people in law enforcement but if I needed information, would not have them go through the records to get for me and risk losing their livelihood.
I am speaking with very little knowledge here..
I have only met one (1) pit bull in my life. It was very pleasant, wanted to be petted, and never hostile. What I did notice is how muscular it was and I remember thinking that I wouldn't want that dog to snap at me. All dog breeds are capable of being aggressive (especially if there is a dominance issue), but some breeds are more muscular and less *intidimated* by humans than other breeds. It seems to me (dog experts, please correct me) it would be easier to pull a Yorkie or a Cocker Spaniel off an attacked person than a pit bull. I don't know how that applies to bigger breeds like labs or retrievers.
However, my humble opinion does not make up for the fact that you could face the loss of a loved family pet. I hope it works out for you.
Have some animal knowledge
To those of you speaking about how pits are so evil, I have two things to say...
1. Any dog is capable of that behavior. We have two dogs and one is a search and rescue dog and both are very loving... but you should never ever underestimate a dog no matter what. they are still animals and they still respond according to their instincts in certain situations. ALL ANIMALS have this capability.
That being said...
2. So if you outlaw pits, who's next? What animal species will be evil incarnate after that?
Basically, it all boils down to the owners, the training and the language the animal gives off in certain situations.
For example, my friend recently told me that someone she knows put their golden to sleep because it bit their child. When they euthanized the dog, a technician made the incidental finding that one of the kids had shoved a pen into the dogs ear. They came to the realization that this is why the dog had bitten, but no one ever even tried to sit down and figure out what had happened... nope, the dog is just put down.. no questions. You know, I would have torn that kid in two myself if that had happened to me, so its the kid and not the dog.
Go to a dog language class, take some training and learn some things before condemning an animal to death for "instincts" that supposedly only that breed has. Its ridiculous and completely ignorant.
I have a relative who has a wealth of knowledge
and was telling her about the posts on this board, namely this thread. She tells me she got a high school graduation and later baby shower invite from her great niece- this person never called, never wrote- my relative said they went in the garbage. She and I are on the same page. BTW, I have gotten late calls on days, like Mothers Day, Thanksgiving- etc. from people and I, like you, think after thought.
Back in the 80s my knowledge helped out some
I had all the symptoms that go with hypothyroidism, the intense itching, the never being able to get warm (with blankets over your head, etc.), went to my doctor and told him I wanted along with my physical exam to have test for thyroid as I thought had this. Went back, he forgot to order and so ordered that day, immediately referred to endo because my labs were off the chart, so to speak and lots of you know thyroid can lead to other problems, even death if left untreated. If I had not pushed this time, guess would be pushing up daisies now. For 2 family members I told others to ask for Megace (these people were skeletons and not eating) and because I knew it was appetite stimulant, I could tell them worth a try. Each gained their appetite and at least did not starve to death so after all these years I have learned a little!
The woman and their babies often died - knowledge is power-
xx
i agree. I thought the knowledge level was very poor
nn
we can make a quiet knowledge group effort to eliminate him

Been there, done that. When I went into the medical
field, I knew I would have to work some holidays. It's not AS bad when I can work from home. I consider jobs in the medical field emergent jobs and knew that working holidays came with the territory. I never thought I would see the day when grocery stores would be open on major holidays, though. Oh well, at least I still have my husband around to celebrate the holidays with and I realize there are some women who have lost husband or children and would give just about anything to have them back. I am blessed beyond measure and I realize that. It's just that this is the first time he has ever had to work on Christmas Day.
are you trying to say that medical
transcriptionist's don't work? what is your point here???? Go away.
I'd probably do it if it is medical. nm
x
She is probably a medical transcriptionist
.
Are you prescribed that for a medical
condition or just take it to stay awake. I am just curious...not judging, lol.
Well, sometimes there is a medical issue
as there is here, not just eating and eating for no reason at all. Was always trim and slim until this but thanks anyway for the curt note.
I would think only if there are other serious medical issues
related to the alcoholism. It probably has to be pretty severe. That's sad.
Yes, she has a medical condition
shaking, quivering and twitching. Paris is afraid to go to jail that is it. Greta's take is a bit much. Greta keeps saying she has a medical problem. She needs Xanax or something. She will calm down soon. She was not quivering or shaking in her backyard hugging her parents. PLEASE.
Sheppard she has "Extreme bratititis". FUNNY.
Now PARIS PARADE she is off to jail now.
Does she have medical issues? sm
That may help in knowing where to look. Good luck to you!
wonder if there is a medical reason?
might ought to know the reason before the remedy.
Have medical causes been ruled out?
Not sure if it could be thyroid or lupus or what, but hair can indicate certain things.
You might want to get the People's Pharmacy book. It is full of inexpensive solutions for problems like that.

Does your dad have any medical problems. .
Your dad sounds like my dad. My dad was so negative that I just couldn't be around him. My dad would never go to the doctor. He was severely depressed and lost a lot of weight. He died a few years ago from CAD and was terribly anemic. It was sad because he died all alone, and he was only 55. My stepmother had left him. He could have gone to local VA and get free medical care. I begged him many times to get help. I know how frustrating it is to try and help your parents when they have no desire to help themselves. I hope your dad is healthy, but has he had a physical lately?
Medical Bills
I just finished my chemo and radiation for breast cancer. I have health insurance but found out that they only pay 80%. I have become overwhelmed with hospital bills. Does anybody know if those companies are on the up and up, that say that they can help you cut your medical bills ?
Thanx for any help.

Is it a necessary medical issue or just something

Medical marijuana use
I just watched an unsettling video about a young high school student diagnosed with cancer. Had to have his leg amputated and he had excrutiating pain that kept him awake through the night for about 3 months. Doctors kept giving him narcotic drugs and he was doped up/sleeping all the time. He started receiving medical marijuana (in a controlled clinic) and it helped. He said he would be able to function during the day and get his stuff done. He regained his appetite and was able to build his muscle tissue back up (mind you this is not some dope addict - this is a clean cut high school student who used to play on the football team, definitely not someone who is going in just to get their "fix"). Anyway...this medical clinic was set up in California and evidently the person in charge of the police department of the town didn't like it because "he believed it does not work". So he called the DEA, they went in and raided the place and threw the doc in charge of the clinic on the floor handcuffed him and hauled him off to jail. Evidently the clinic was approved, they show pics of the doctor in charge of the clinic shaking hands with the mayor and being welcomed to the city. Well after they raided his office they then went to his home and raided his home. Now this doctor is facing possibly 100 years in jail (all because some uptight police person in charge does not believe medical marijuana works and he is against it. The parents even said "what part of this don't they understand. Medical marijuana helps. It rejuvinates the brain cells, brings back hunger so cancer patients and others with serious illness will be able to eat and get better and not be suffering with pain. No instead they want to dispense drugs by the pharmaceutical companies that are killing people and keeping them comatose. It just makes me sick that this form of treatment is not being allowed for more people who need it (not just want it to get high - but actually need it). This is why we need to get rid of big government. Give the power back to the people where it belongs.
You should get a medical opinion
just to be safe. I have Bell's palsy that flares up every now and them. The first time I had it, I had a "full" feeling on the left side of my face with numbness and tingling, and my left eye was twitching like mad and the center of my tongue was numb for several days. The following afternoon, it was full blown. My mom is a massage therapist and she said that having a vigrous or deep tissue massage can definitely get blood flowing and so this may be a side effect of that, but to definitely seek a medical opinion just to be safe. Good luck!
I get this from the medical profession, too -
My family doc respects my knowledge, but heaven forbid I say something medical if I have to take my daughter to the ER! They look at me like I have two heads, then continue to talk in monosyllables.
medical info
I do not think it is polite to disclose your sex life details or inquire into others.
You are either a predator or a transcriptionist, either way, you should be able to find info on the web.
With those medical problems, someone
My Mom had non-ESL doctors and still couldn't understand because most older people are not aware of "medical terms." I wish your friend well, but there is some responsibility on the patient's part to voice their concern on whether or not they would like treatment and to let the physicians know when they do not understand. My PCP has an accent and I like him a lot, but if I don't catch what he's saying, then he will repeat it! No brainer! Lots of luck to the OP and friend! I hope she gets what she needs in a timely fashion now that you're in the picture!
There's already a story about FF's medical
records being leaked in the past by an administrative assistant at UCLA. The first time around, she was suspicious about a leak. When the relapse was diagnosed, she told NO ONE, just to see what happened, and 3 or 4 days later it was all over the tabloids.
If ever there was a time to bring it up to whoever will listen that maybe MJ's & FF's most current records aren't being offshored, but what about previously? What about other famous individuals? This is a good opportunity to let the country know that their medical privacy is NOT guaranteed as long as US medical records can be sent out of the country to be processed.

No excuse
It is completely rude, but there isn't much else you can do. You can, however, choose a consistant pickup time yourself and let her know what that is. I have done that which creates a big inconvenience to them instead of you. :)
Excuse me?
I have a teenage daughter and I resent the implication that they are all sex-crazed nymphos. At least, that's the way I took your post. Generalizations like the one you just made are offensive.
ExCUSE me?????? sm
Would this be a little sexual harrassment? How terrible for your daughter!! You don't have a choice, you HAVE TO DO SOMETHING. Poor girl, she's so sensitive anyway!!!!! No you are NOT overeacting. Go STRAIGHT TO THE SCHOOL WITH THIS ONE . . .
No excuse for this
The only human thing doesn't cut it. I have worked in hospitals for many years, observed nurses and MDs in action. When administering drugs, there is no excuse for massively overdosing newborns with Heparin. The nurse was probably talking her head off to somebody, had her mind on 10 different things instead of what she should have been doing - passing meds.
If she was tired, then she should not have passed meds or should have had somebody help her to doublecheck herself.
I hope they sue the pants off that nurse and the hospital, too.
EXCUSE ME???
I was correcting MY error...you need to calm down, sister...I would never, ever correct anyone else's mistake, only my own. I made a mistake, I CORRECTED MY MISTAKE. can't you read??????? So freakin' rude, grow up will ya!
Excuse me! sm
Lining my pockets? Are you serious? This is for my daughter, not me. I have plenty of money and don't need their money. We make over $100,000 a year. My daughter is the one who suffered and is continuing to suffer. What would you do if your daughter was traumatized like this?
I think you have a lot of nerve!!!
excuse
all my typo. It has already been a long day. That is why I am on the forum. I needed a break.
Excuse me, but....(sm)
...we certainly do hear of women who are cruel to animals. Just Google "woman charged with cruelty to animals" and you'll get plenty of hits.
I wonder, as a man, if I could get away with posting a sexist slur like yours about women? I doubt it!
I agree about the medical issues...sm
obviously none of these responders have a thyroid condition, which makes it nearly impossible to lose weight, no matter how little you eat. I eat once a day. and it is not a huge meal either, or fast food, but a regular sized, non fat, meal. I have not lost weight in over 10 years, and sometimes gain weight if I do happen to indulge on a sweet item once in a while. I have done a lot of investigating on this and I have found there is an additive to 95% of all american food items called HFCS, high frutose corn syrup. Start reading labels and you will see that it is in almost everything! It is an artificial sweetener, just like most people who posted say they avoid. You cannot avoid it. It is in everything and it is the main item responsible for all obesity in the US!!! It fools your body into thinking it is still hungry when you are not. It keeps you *addicted* to food and you actually feel hungrier after eating it. Believe it or not, our own government WANTS us to be obese, so we continue to go to the doctors with high blood pressure, diabetes, high choleterol, etc., so they can give us more medications, which are worse than any disease we can get. Do some investigating like I have, and you will learn that being overweight is not because we overeat, but because of what we are being force fed. This makes me so angry I could spit! I hardly eat anything and continue to gain weight because my thyroid is shot, due to this artificial drug they have put into all our food. I hate being fat! But after searching for SOME kind of nutritional food that does not have this in it, I have given up. My weight is not my fault, but my own government who would prefer to keep me sick in order to get money. Think about it. This is just my experiences and my opinions, and I don't need any flaming arguments. do your own research on this and you will see I am right. JMO
He ought to add the MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION companies

It is a MEDICAL procedure. I suppose
spaying is mutilation to you too, right? I don't know if vets tell people....but they remove their ovaries for that. The horror!
If you don't want it done to your cat, don't do it, but leave others alone that need/want to have this done!
release of medical records
Wknds are the toughest at any hosp.
Considering your FIL has had a stroke, who's his proxy?.... he can't sign for himself....Someone has to run down to medical records and sign a release for ALL the medical records pertaining to the dates in question......ER, HP, procedures, consults, progress notes, labs, anything you can think of ...You are entitled to a free copy and it will be sent to your home address within a week.
Docs at the new hosp may be able to access records over the internet as a course of professional courtesy. Hope he recovers soon.
How the medical economy works
You obviously do not understand how the medical economy works (smiles and winks). Docs love seeing patients once a year when they already know whats wrong (usually not much). It's easy money just like it is when we get a standard dictation. Since insurance will pay for it, they order all kinds of lab tests and maybe some imaging - you know, screening just in case - so they don't actually have to take the time to ask you if something is bothering you or listen to what you tell them. That takes too much time, and time is money. This also keeps the labs and imaging services in business (some of which the docs have invested in). When it comes to drugs, they do not want you using the old tried and true. That sucker is off patent and can be bought cheap and sometimes OTC with no prescription and office visit required. No, they want to give you the latest thing that is still on patent and costs a bundle. That's medical planned obsolescence, maybe because the docs invest in the drug companies, too.
If you remember the names of the other creams that have worked, you could try running them past a pharmacist. He/She should be able to tell you if any are available OTC.
They are developers for medical practices.
Fox Development Corporation is committed to meeting space needs of our tenants. Whether there is a need for exam and x-ray rooms, surgical facilities, laboratories, or office space, FDC is sensitive to the specialized building requirements necessary for medical offices.
I agree, if it is medical, I would do it even if it meant(sm)
paying something else late. I could not tell my child, bio, non-bio, raised or not raised, no when they are ill.
Called another medical office....
to ask a question and the secretary said "I'm at lunch right now, can I call you back when I am done?" I think that is very unprofessional. If you are at lunch, then I think one should either not answer the phone or put it in voicemail mode!
Medical Ethics Question.
You are a doctor. You have an 80-year-old patient with stage 4 cancer, who has just finished radiation treatments. The patient is on Medicare. You (the doctor) know of a new drug that "might" slow the cancer, but it has not been approved by Medicare yet, and the cost is $1000 per week.
Do you recommend this drug to this patient's family?
My husband has some serious medical issues,
those being diabetes and hypertension but having said this he is always on the hunt for the new and improved solutions to give assistance with these. He not only takes his medications as prescribed, he carries around a myriad of supplements, herbs, what have you, eats healthy (no fast food for him) and tries to maintain himself in the best shape possible. I raised 2 children, don’t have another one here, have a real man.
