My daughter is now grown but at that same age, she came home in tears one day because the teacher sent her and her best buddy to the office for talking in the lunchroom after the RED light came on. This was a no no at the time. Now, you have to know my daughter. She was quite shy, very quiet, and to talk in the lunchroom after the RED light, well.....it just ain't done. The teacher called me at home and told me about it. She wanted me to know how badly she felt sending her and her friend, when both little girls were sweet as pie but she had to go by the rules. She said she couldn't help but smile as they walked hand in hand down the ramp to go to the principal's office. When they got there, the secretary was stunned (so she told me later) and told them the principal was out, but she would let him know and they could go back to the lunchroom. Needless to say, they didn't talk anymore in the lunchroom when they weren't suppose to. The principal was our neighbor and he had to tell me what a laugh he and the secretary had over these two, because he said the secretary told him they looked like they were going to their demise and she couldn't bear to call him in there. The teacher got a laugh out of that for years to come. She had our son next and when she said he was talking, I guarantee he WAS talking! Little stuff.....don't fret it.
