Don't be "down in the dumps" - sm

What you are doing is wonderful and you need to remember that. I too have feral outside cats and over the years have trapped them and had them "fixed". Not too long ago one of them bit the tech and they had to keep her in quarantine for 10 days. We do our best. Some of these cats are willing to be helped, others just are not. The best you can do for this one is to catch her, if possible, have her fixed and vaccinated, and let her be an outside cat. At present we have 6 indoor cats and about 10 outside cats, not counting the newest litter of 5. I am on my way out to spend time with them in the hopes of getting them to trust me so that they too can go to the vet. I may take them to our humane society which is a no-kill shelter, but I am hoping to find a home for at least two of them. Over the years we have probably "rescued" over 75 kits. All of the adult cats that have shown up were either with kittens or about ready to have them. All throw aways. So sad. Good luck.

I'm down in the dumps.

I've been having computer problems for a couple weeks and my income has dropped drastically.

On top of that, our car wouldn't pass inspection because of the cracked windshield. It cost over $250 for a new one, and since the transmission is just limping along, we had to make the decision. ...so Saturday, I found a car for $4200 that we really can't afford (really can't afford any) on Vehix.com, but it looked pretty good. DH went to look at it and put a DP on it. He says it's in great condition and only turned 71,000 miles.  A local woman owned it and it looks like she really took good care of it. We need to come up with the money in 5 days or he loses the DP. So, we had no choice but to take from our IRA (over the 59 1/2 yo so no penalty).

What bothers me is that we didn't have much of an IRA to begin with, and when the markets started to tank, we lost a few thousand each. We certainly won't be able to retire on it. Golden years.....when?

I can see myself now working until I'm 70 or older, but I'm no longer as fast as I used to be, have trouble seeing with my cataracts, and my thyroid cysts are growing, yet can't have the operation until DH gets back to work, if he does. On top of that, the stress of all of the above and trying to keep everything up to date is stressing me out so much, every muscle in my body hurts.

Don't want sympathy, just venting 'cause have to be optimistic in front of DH.

Thank you for letting me vent.
